I really like how you guys don't just go for the "quick fix" and instead actually look for the ultimate problem. That seems to be something rare in a garage anymore as they seem to go for quantity instead of quality. Love the vids, keep up the great work!!
I did this for a neighbor on same car. Overheated after 30 min. of driving. Compression test was good. But leakdown test pressurized the cooling sys. pushing coolant out of overflow container. There was never any white smoke and no misfire. Parts were $320, and $100 labor cause I took my time and did it in a week. Now it runs perfect and hes getting about 40mpg's. Saved him a butt load of money. Now I'm the mechanic for his whole family. Take your time, do it right.
i dont c my self getting a borescopes from snap on anytime soon i tested it for 3 month only used it 3 times its a very expansive flash light thats i c to use that tool lol for its not worth the money
With coolant visibly dripping, I would be surprised if you didn't see white smoke in the exhaust or coolant in the oil. At what point do you call it a day and send it to the wrecker?
Of course the best way to fix this is to replace the head gasket, but that will cost ...how much...$400? The customer might not want to spend that much on a '95 Honda, so i imagine trying a head gasket sealer like KW Block seal is the first thing to do.
yeah alot of the scopes dont actually fit in the spark plug hole and definitly get one that has a light on it if possible, and yeah the overheat is just one of the signs of a bad head gasket, it is just amazing the thing that mechanical objects do, it will amaze you
Theres so many different ways a head gasket can blow, awhile back i did one on
a little suzuki swift and there was no coolant getting in any cylinders and no oil in the coolant but, the cooling systems was getting pressurized with combustion gases.
That's why it takes much more diagnosing then just looking for coolant in the oil like most people think.
this video dont tell me anything. Useless.

Good job, RFRF. I've seen borescopes advertised all over the place, but never seen one used. I bet not too many places bother to use it.
