@ yesyes - It was a sarcastic/ironic statement... The folks who darn near did wipe out the Native Americans were, of course, mainly of European descent and it was the US government that pushed the 'indians' to the brink of extinction. And, well - the Seminoles exist today because what you said is exactly what they did do, though certainly not by choice. Thank you for keeping me honest.
I ALWAYS loved this song, I'm a native Texan that moved to central FL for a few yrs... once I was there it felt like home & I couldn't fathom living anywhere else. I came back to Houston 18 mos ago and this song makes me want to go home to FL so bad it puts me in tears every time I hear it now...
according to most posts on youtube...there are no whites in america...only some fraction ( 1/ whatever number) of native americans...EVERYONE is native american on youtube....especially when it's the trendy thing to be.....just like everyone suddenly turned scottish when Braveheart came out...
@JohnDeereBoy06 some people cant take a fucking joke,I am a Cherokee Indian 100%,sorry to hurt your 1/8 feelings.Learn to relax and enjoy life.PEACE.Now you can laugh,it's better than bitchin.
myguess @cherkees is that, blueeyes "recessive, Tower of Babel pangaea, etc etc.... maledna being D'stroyed @concepcion -= turnalmystree, etc etc.... chrokee == yahve yahoovay ,, war god el: isis ra el,,,, is-ra-el.. pangaea, blue eyes, israelites curred recently d'scoverd share same "dna" cherokees, etc etc human wish for warmth hostilities, Identy, etc etc.... atallkosts, we will keep S omthing as belonging toourselves, grasp, even skinkolr as a last refuse we, us, etcetc wtf
Why is it that most everyone always claims to be part Cherokee? If you ask anyone if they have Indian blood 9 out of 10 will say "Yes, my grandmother was full-blooded Cherokee." Even if they are redheaded with blue eyes and freckles.....hahaha
@benkit49 Cherokee is the most known tribe, so it gets named most often...I have yet to hear anyone on youtube who (really isn't but wants to fit in) claim it, say they are any percent of abanaki, montagnais, Narragansett (Nipmuc)
or Wampanoag, but then maybe I just gave them a few more names to claim.
@Tinyoak2 Yes, Cherokee is definitely the most known tribe and the word cherokee sounds pretty cool so I guess that is why most people claim Cherokee blood. As for me I do have indian blood but it is Muskogean(Creek) and possibly some Cherokee from when some of my ancestors passed down through the carolinas but unless I have documented proof of Cherokee I'm not going to go around say...hey!! My grandmother was full-blooded Cherokee. Most folks with a BIA card dont go round braggin about it.
I'd say she definitely wants some Indian in her... gotta fill that hole... umm... on her ancestry chart that is...
Thanks fer the contrast between us ugly, materialistic Amurricuns versus those beautiful, simple, injun folk. But remember - if it weren't for US, those damned Europeans would have wip[ed out the Native Americans years ago.
@MSFIRECRACKER Thanks for the great scenery, really, I won't be crude. I grew up on the very north edge of Beaumont, Texas, on a road that dead-ended into the swamp until they dug the sandpits on out past the original end of the road. My Dad grew up next door to where I did and he's told me about wading the swamp to get to Bald Ridge. That's the ridge that they destroyed for the sand.I grew up in the swamp and on the river and it's hard to see how little BigMoney cares. Best Luck
@originalrumplesnitzno they wouldnt have whiped out the semnoles because they would chased the siminoles into big cypress swamps and the glades and they would have bin eatin or got bit by poisenes animals or would have got lost and they starvedont know what u can eat or what u cant
I have a vintage clothing business. You will see the link to my store on my main Channel page to the left of the favorites section. It's blue. Thanks for your interest!
I rem. the first time I heard this song. I loved it from the start. The sounds, the words... I lived in "Spring Garden" on the infamous Miami River. I lived on the same street as Art Teele. Just over the bridge in Overtown was the closest convenient store. This song in the background, barefooted 4 yr. old walked in, slapped a dollar down on the counter and said "give me a pack of BC (aspirin.) Never forgot it. Country music playing in the Haitian convenient store. That tough child. Miami moment.
It would be great of you to do more on Florida and The Seminole. My Dad's family are all Creole out of Mobile, AL., and I lay claim to about everything short of Asian descent. And history proves that all the soapbox speakers in the world don't get the attention that one good Lady Godiva can get. With high-fashion clothing, of course! BTW, the blue goddess outfit in this video looks outstanding on you. I think that you ARE the shape that fashion designers have in mind. Kudos!
That is so cool that you have Creole roots. I do, too, from Georgia! I hardly did this video the justice it deserves. I def. will go back and do it again. I love the south in general and my roots are deep and, as you know, southernMOST.
you are a very sexy lady.good luck withyour cause.would love to see more
