i'm assuming that you could do the same with any car that's not white, you would just de-saturate it of its colour and then fiddle with the brightness and contrast to achieve roughly the same effect.

Not the way I would do it but not bad nevertheless. I would have used a little less brightness in the end as well as mask layers and paths instead of using the lasso tool (at least as often) because if you make a mistake it's a pain. Perhaps I'm just too anal lol.

You've had quite a bit of rendering practice I assume as well. Very skillful with that lasso tool!

Cool tutorial and simple to. I still have a hard time with the lasso tool though. Using a mouse i guess is more difficult for me than others. Anyone have any tips that might help me get better at it??

@SilentTrama Don't use the lasso tool to make your selections. Learn how to use the pen tool. Zoom in to 100%+ while doing so to get a much better, and more accurate, selection.

@arman218436 In my opinion: The idea off making tutorials is: Show the way is made, and how U can do it.... Is very annoying I guess when somebody stay almost 30minute just to make a selection of the car... But when you do this at home... certainly you will do it more accurated ;) ...

You should really use the path tool to select objects, you can get better curves, especially working on larger images. Cool technique!
