  • This has always been my favourite Rainbow song.

And this riff has been copied quite a lot. Check out Jet to Jet, 30 days Speed Shred, and From Hell With Love. And I bet there are more copies.

But Ritchie can't really complain because he stole quite a few riffs over the years, such as Black Night, Lazy and even the Woody Woodpecker theme (Wring That Neck).

  • In my opinion Rainbow were at their peak with Rising and LL R&R; however, this particular track shows them gelling as a band, and it's pretty damn good music.

  • elämää....

  • this is the whole beggining of power metal ... however THIS IS KICK ASS ROCK ´N ROLL :)

  • Rainbow is the probably THE most under-rated rock band ever

  • This guitar solo is amazing!!!!

    Long live rock and roll!!!

  • super

  • Very nice song.

  • Imagine Jon Lord's wild solo instead of this crap @ 2:45...

  • @muurtalo

u are sick man, That sounds awesome, why you think that its sounds crap?, because is not conventional?

  • @muurtalo Well, nothing is 100% quality. I would tho enjoy some magical Bach-esque Lordism at that moment.

  • This song is the best song they've done without Dio

  • @Doobie1975 your right

  • jet to jet sounds just like the intro to this

  • One of ritchie's best solos!!! \m/

  • Wow, great quality. Thanks!

  • Great great song

  • I have a rare solo from this album ,,MAY BE NEXT TIME ,,RITCHIE JAMS ,,,COME SEE ....Rainbow changed many lead singers but always ...did the job right ...

  • @stellatorty The guy who played some guitar on Roger Waters' "The Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking":) That's about it:)

  • @stellatorty AS if you dont know Clapton, Only one of the best musicians around. Eric Clapton, you must of heard of him at least

  • the riff from Jet to Jet from Alcatrazz seems to have been taken from this, well both songs kick ass anyway and Graham rules on vocals for both songs, as always

  • @laithlaith91 This one has been sung by Joe Turner.

  • @jjojjorge sorry, my bad, dno wy I was thinking of Bonnet that second, I guess coz of the riff similarity I blindly assumed he was singing on both songs hahah

  • @laithlaith91 In any case, both are awesome singers along with Dio.

  • @laithlaith91 Graham Bonnet has a habit of taking songs from one band, renaming them and playing them in another. Look at Desert Song by MSG and General Hospital by Alcatrazz.

  • @laithlaith91 There is also a song called "From Hell With Love" by Shinichi Kobayashi, which is just like this and Jet to Jet.

This has always been my favourite Rainbow song.

  • Blackmore is in a whole league of his own,hes a musical genius!

  • great riff intro

  • Only the genius that is the one they call ''Blackmore'' would have thought of putting a Russian Style guitar solo in this most excellent song, not once but TWICE!! ( and complete ith a russian style ''chant'' too ) Clapton IS GOD! But Blackmore is better.

  • the whole song is awesome!

  • One of the best intro's EVER!!!!

  • Ух, вот эта музыка - всем музыкам музыка! Шерсть дыбом и мурашки по коже!!! А с 1.58 так совсем высший пилотаж, дух захватывает и слов нет _ одни междометия.... BRAVO! BRAVISSIMO!! BISS!!!

  • @Koriandrina ага

  • i love the fact that the picture changes only while the gtr solo is on, like noy wou listen carefully!!

  • that solo blew me away rip dio

  • The best song ever,Long live Rainbow

  • The best song ever,Long live Rainbow

  • i love black more but the founder of neoclassical is ulrich jon roth

  • Alcatrazz ripped-off this song soo damn well as Jet to Jet.

    FAIL!

  • @tjrokr911 Yeah, you knew instantly where Yngwie got the riff & progression.

  • One of the coolest riff´s ever! Bowing in Respect for the Master!

  • Jet to Jet ;)

Awesome riff, cool voice.I hate that shitty "metal" stuff nowadays.I wish more bands would make music like this, good oldschool hardrock/metal.I was born in the wrong decade,I have to admit.

  • Oh yeah, love<3

  • This song was written for Roger Glover ,for the Spotlight Kid(Ritchie Blackmore)

  • @VH1ClassicRocks thnk you for info, I am a natural fan of purple and rainbow, and did know this, actually i do not a lot about who was composing tunes, lyrics, but the doesn't bother, because anywway i love all of them. As regards Roger Glover, i think he was one of the hitmakers, i think;) because smoke on the water is his composition as well if iam not mistaken. However, almost every their song, especially, purple, is the mastrepiece.

  • Is there double bass drum? I'm not sure..

  • @Sneixx Yes.

  • Jet to Jet = Beso de la Bruja = Spotlight Kid (Y)

  • 2:16 chromatic run fucking amazing

  • R. Blacmore is the REAL FATHER of Neo-classical rock music. Yngwie just took it to the PERFECTION level and spread it to us, as a gift for our ears. After Malmsteen lots of guitarists went back to practice over again to be at this new heights.

  • @heryblax Don't know if blackmore was the Father but I agree with the Malmsteen comment. Many prog band guitarists were doing the neoclassical thing in their music starting with Steve Howe from Yes. But this is an argument that will never end anyway. imho Malmsteen = Blackmore + Micheal Schenker + Hendrix + Al Dimeola.

  • @heryblax The advantage of Ritchie is that he plays only little touches of classical pieces, so it never gets boring and always surprises the listener. Besides that, he plays blues based things too. Malmsteen, on the other hand, plays always the same diminished and harmonic minor licks over and over. So, it´s very very boring.

  • @xuxis2008 yep I agree with you on that

  • the only song with joe lynn turner that i like

  • nice song and beautiful solo :)

  • Blackmore is my favorite guitarist. He always adds on that classical touch. You're the man Ritchie Blackmore

  • @4dsakeofmusic ...long live Ritchie!

  • man no one cares enough about music anymore to actually sit down and write a masterpiece like this..Blackmore is pure genius!

  • what a solo!.....so neo classical orock n roll...hail king blackmore!

  • great song!

  • This guy used to live in a building-basement; a friend of mine and I used to go there and enjoy some heavy rock like Rainbow, Purple, Zep, Stones, !!!

  • @jjojjorge

Heavy rock = Stones??? are YOU Stoned? :)

  • @jjojjorge

As in you used to chill with Turner?

  • @DoctorWho1983 Yeah sure hahahhaha; hey if Turner or any of the guys from R or Purple want to get some crazy innovative lines they know where to turn; I can even help with the tunes.

  • One of the best songs ever
