The situation here is quite simple... the kitten was having a high-energy moment as all infants have, and its mother was simply trying to expel his (or her) energy in an effort to calm the kitten down.
@oMuStIiA I think it's the male calicos that are infertile. (Calico cats are usually females). Funny thing is she had 4 male kittens. 2 of them tabby, the other 2 is white&ginger.
Kittens have to play. It is part of their development. This kitten obviously has no siblings, so plays with Mom, and she plays back. This is precious!

Cats have teeth to defend themselves but they have to be taught how to use them as well as their claws effectively. Only a mother can teach her kittens how to behave like a proper cat. Why are you allowing your cat to have kittens. Take her to get spayed, unless you house the 4 kittens for the rest of their lives 3 out of 4 of them will not find homes and will probably die before theyre a year old.

I understand why owners get there animals fixed right away. But its great to see a mother cat with kittens its like she played her part in nature. Our cats had many litters as we grew up. I've owned two cats before, and they both ended up having kittens of 4, EACH. People misunderstand why people are influencing cat's to get spayed/neutered in the first place. Stray cats tend to rise in popularity, and that in ways can be a problem, sure. But millions of cats are bred each year, and many of them grow into strong cats. I didn't really find a strong point in Tarutan's claim in any way. o_o
