Galileo is the sweetest tortoise ever! I got to meet him when I was in Madagascar last year and totally fell in love with him. I believe he is several hundred years old. I hope he gets the help he needs.
As far as I know Galileo is still alive and still looking for help with his cataracts. Please help him if you can. All it takes is a referral to the right vet!!
For the last three weeks I was in Madagascar and Kenya, and during my travels met Raymond and Galileo at le Fontenay. I do recall his eye not being in very good condition then - probably injured beyond medical treatment. I do agree that he ought to be looked at. Guinness World records should certainly take a look. Having been to Galapagos myself he's probably bigger than the tortoises there. I think Raymond said that he was a Comoros island tortoise? Could anyone confirm this?
I should also add that Raymond is one of the nicest people I have ever met!
