this has been and will always be one of my favourite indian performances...In South Africa we dont see much of this form of art, but it makes the hair on my hands stand when i listen to this...hindi music is as he says it :) "a language spoken by the Gods" i bought this dvd in 2003 and up to this day, it still gives me the best feeling ever :) its hard not to be sentimental when u listen to this. this is the reason i am proud to be INDIAN!!! There are many artists who would not even dread to make an unplugged performnace. Because in unplugged there is no way u can use tech gimmics. Rahman has proved beyond any question that he is too good at studio dynamics, I faintly had a doubt about his capability in unplugged mode ... this video removed that "faint doubt" of mine ... and once again I boldly say "Jai Ho" ...(even though thats probably one of his not so best ones)

they are trying to equate him to Mozart, not in the western classical sense, but in Indian sense... it can also be seen as a homage to Mozart in a rather humble way; still denoting that Mozart is much superior...

I don't have a problem with saying Mozart of Madras but too often i find that people don't appreciate the old and are too quick to look at modern way and say its better.
