What are we gonna do with you? You are always showing your ignorance. San Juan Capistrano and Dana Point are not on the edge of OC county/ San Diego Co. border; San Clemente is.
The Immigration Reform and Control Act (1986) prohibits the employment of unauthorized aliens, BUT the law also prohibits employment discrimination on the basis of national origin or citizen status. The purpose of this provision is to discourage employers from attempting to comply with the prohibition against hiring unauthorized aliens by simply refusing to hire applicants who are foreign-looking in appearance or have foreign-sounding accents. So technically what he did was not illegal.
"Anti-Discrimination Notice. It is illegal to discriminate against any individual (other than an alien not authorized to work in the U.S.) in hiring, discharging, or recruiting or referring for a fee because of that individual's national origin or citizenship status. It is illegal to discriminate against work eligible individuals."
If these illegal immigrants could be legal, that would kick the mafia where it hurts. If they could bring their families, women, elders, theyd form communities and wouldnt have to hang out at the 7-11 with their buddies drinking away their loneliness. If there were households instead of packs of young, hungry men, many of the bad things that you wail about would stop.
Even if that were true, how do you propose deporting all illegals without infringing on the rights of brown-skinned American citizens? Suggestion: brown people who dont want to be harassed by police, INS, Minute-men or whacko independent filmmakers, have a surgically implanted ID device by the D H S. Set up scanners, like metal detectors, all around town. All brown people have to go through them, if the scanner doesnt detect the implant, that person is arrested and deported. Works for you?
I was unaware that law enforcement necessitates civil rights violations. Suggestion: Illegal alien sympathizers who want to carry on immigr. conversations allegedly based on meritorious arguments, have a surgically implanted device that issues an electric shock every time they shamelessly substitute the term "immigrants" or "Latinos" for "illegal aliens," or by making irrelevant references to skin color. If the amnesty advocate doesn't race bait, he doesn't get shocked. Works for you?
Actually, I'd prefer that you and those like you simply drop the race-hustling schtick as a simple matter of intellectual integrity, however, based upon my experiences of the last couple years, I'm not going to be holding my breath until it happens.
If there was no money in human smuggling, the gangs would go out of business or change to some other illegal activity. We have gangs doing profitable activities because those activities are illegal. If they stop being illegal, the gangs stop making money.
Well, this discussion has come back to where you started. Hey, if date rape was legal, people who unlawfully traffic women into this country as prostitutes would stop making money and go out of business or change to some other illegal activity. That may be your idea of a solution but it's not mine.
Again, you are not describing the situation accurately. Working is not illegal. Further, working as a foreign national inside U.S. borders is not unlawful, either. Millions of people do it each day. What is illegal is being unlawfully present in the United States and engaging in compensated labor.
GeauxNOSaints let me throw you a bone. I would agree that there are Mexican gangs, particularly around the border area, that make tons of money trafficking humans, most of them Mexican. If we put them out of business overnight, we allow immigrants to enter the country and get proper, union backed jobs.
Stop misstating the situation and your position. We do allow immigrants into the country. Lots. In fact, the U.S. hands out more permanent residency cards each year than any 12 other countries you can name, combined. You're not interested in the "immigrants" who come to this country, however. The crux of your argument is that the illegal aliens should be allowed to stay, right?
Name a single country you would want to live in that practices that policy. Actually, there's no need for that qualifier. Name a country that allows what you just described.
None, right. Im being over simplistic. Hey its You Tube. Its complicated, what about people who are waiting outside the country who have been following proper channels? And yes, I do think a country needs to control its borders for many reasons. But I do think youre very mis-guided when your harass poor people looking for a crap job.
And I could make the same assessment of someone who spends a good deal of time passionately attempting to whitewash the actions of a pack of criminals who have systematically and premeditatedly violated the laws of our nation, and stolen the residency spots that rightfully belong to foreign nationals who have properly applied to enter the U.S. and are still waiting in their home countries.
GeauxNoSaints, the problem with people working off the books is that they dont pay Social Security taxes. Also, illegals work for lower wages arguably depressing wages for low-skilled Americans. The reason they work off the books for low wages is because they dont have the credentials to work on official payrolls. The way to solve that problem is by getting them the correct paperwork. The easiest way to eliminate all illegal aliens in one step is, yes, to make them legal. Problem solved.
Interesting solution. Hey, I've got an idea. Let's do the same for spousal abusers and car thieves. The number of police and investigatory personnel required could be dramatically reduced, thereby saving the taxpayers a fortune. Not only that, but our overburdened courts would get some welcome relief. Further, some of the strain on overcrowded jails and prisons would be alleviated. Just legalize the conduct and, as you said, problems solved, right?
The activities of car thieves and spousal abusers hurt people and are detrimental to society. People who work add value to society. Only fools would miss the fact that your argument presents a false comparison and is therefore invalid. I thought you were supposed to be a critical thinker, cant you do better than that?
I guess I can't because illegal aliens harm American citizens and legal residents just like car thieves and spousal abusers. Actually, illegals and their children cost taxpayers much more than the characters in the other two groups, so scratch that. Aside from that, that little aside you made about our undocumented friends adding value to society was an impressive earful. Why don't you try mouthing those words to the families of Jamiel Shaw, Tyler Lundin and Anthony Bologna?
Thats a grotesque and illogical generalization. Someone picking lettuce harms Americans just like spousal abusers! Wow! Illegals pay plenty of taxes, if they were legal they would be able to pay more. What does Shaw, Lundin and Bolgna have to do with anything? Stick to the argument and use logic, please.
No, the inaccurate characterization is yours. As you have described their actions here, illegals are providers of labor and a source of tax revenue. That, unfortunately, is only a fraction of what they bring to the U.S. You're leaving out the billions in tax dollars in expenses, gang affiliations, street crime, identity theft and maybe a half dozen other ills I could mention. And part of the equation you conveniently left out is people who get killed by them, like the folks I listed above.
What? So in that case we should kick out Russian. Irish, Italian, Korean etc immigrants because they form gangs? Are you saying that all street crime is done by illegal immigrants? People get killed by all people of all sorts of ethnic back-grounds, including illegal immigrants, Native Americans, those of European ancestry, African etc...
Kicking immigrants out? No. Kicking all illegal aliens out? Yes. No, not all illegals commit street crime and not all of them are tax burdens. However, some of them do and are, and since they have no right to be here, there is no reason that any U.S. citizen should suffer any harm or expense they may cause. Further, your "generalization" is the one that is inaccurate. You would have people believe that their qualities are limited to labor supply and revenue. That's what I'm saying.
Yes, you are right, I agree 100% kick out all aliens who have a criminal record or who are caught committing a crime. But its not fair to the honest folks that they should be kicked out too. And you are also right, Mexican workers have many qualities besides the two I mentioned, labor supply and revenue. There are quite a few things white Americans can learn from them.
Is commission of crimes your standard? That's where you draw the line? I doubt it. Every illegal alien is violating the law. It's only a question of how many state and federal code sections each one has violated (with the exception of current minors who had no say in the decision about entering the U.S.).
Immigration violations don't victimize taxpayers? They don't harm the working class citizen construction worker in Houston? What about the blue collar guy in L.A. who wants to send his kids to a decent public school? A black kid in a poor neighborhood who can't find a summer fast food job because he doesn't speak Spanish and has some crazy idea about receiving minimum wage hasn't been victimized? Please ...
Immigration violations per-se do not harm taxpayers unless the non-documented foreign national gets caught, then it costs to prosecute and deport. If the non-documented is in the country to work, as most of them are, he adds value to the society. You bully the poor working guy, why dont you go and harass the smugglers? Those are the bad guys. But its easier to kick the weak, right?
These people have been to the border doing what you are talking about so many times, they can not even afford to do it anymore. They are picking on the employer. Get it straight.
A. Your remark about not harming taxpayers is completely divorced from reality; B. No, it's easier to confront the employers where the illegal aliens openly flout and violate the law ... which is what we do.
GeauxNOSaints. You missed the point. Immigration Violations per-se dont harm taxpayers. A guy swims across the Rio Grande, picks some vegetables and goes back. Theres no tax-payer hurt there. The tax-pain comes from other areas. Focusing on the legality of the immigrant worker is the easy way to get attention. Unfortunately what youre doing is kicking the weak, inciting bigots to do the same, and not addressing the real problems caused by uncontrolled immigration.
Incorrect. You have mischaracterized, again, the substance of the behavior of most illegals. In stark contrast to your example above, most border hoppers are not scampering into a farm field in the morning and dashing back to Mexico ea. night. Many set up homes, crank out anchor babies, enroll children in schools, utilize hospital emergency rooms, get arrested for DUI's, spousal abuse, etc. If every illegal was of the nature your lettuce picker, above, there would be no Amer. immigr. uproar.
Did anyone here see Date line NBC last night with the "What Would You Do" segment about the illegal immigrants in the restaurant? It was some pretty disgusting pro-illegal immigration propaganda. Anyone who saw it knows what I'm talking about.
If I buy a stolen television set that'll save me lots of money, too. And it'll work just as well as the one I could purchase at Circuit City. Should I do that, also?
You always have a way of saying it like it is without offending anyone, wish I could grasp that talent. I seem to rub everyone the wrong way, maybe it is my cantankerous nature?
Thanks but, take my word for it, people have taken great offense at things I have said about our nation's immigration problems more than you can imagine. I have received enough hate messages, e-mail and derisive shouts at protests to fill the Library of Congress.
GeauxNoSaints Glad to see your still doing great work. I pass a home depot going to work at times which is filled will illegals. Which is a sloppy mess. I just think how sad our country will be if it continues to grow like a festering piece of shit. By the end of the day their hanging out at 7-11's hitting people up bothering them for change so they can buy beer and continue to get drunk. And they reek of booze.
Yeah, anyone who wants to see why illegal immigr. should be stopped should just go take a look at a lot of the former working class and blue collar neighborhoods in So. Calif. Almost all of them have just become graffiti scarred 3rd world dumps ... commonly featuring a Home Depot somewhere nearby.
in my mind its all about race, legality means nothing its about genetics. you don't have to be "against" another race to support the survival of your own.
employers hire them, the laws are not enforced and soon those laws will be changed and the border will no longer exist. It will just be a memory of how it once was. what is a "country"? .... who decides what is "legal" or "illegal"?
mike, Employers hire them, illegally. Don't count on the border being open. Obama's gonna have trouble trying to keep the American people in jobs, let along Illegals. Better look for the U.S. government to enforce the E-Check laws. People elect the government. Government decides what is legal and illegal. A country is like a house. The people of that country{house} take care of it. Illegals have a country {house}. They need to go take care of it. If it's broke. Then FIX IT!
its not a presidents role to provide jobs. thats socialism. I don't like gov. checks and intrusion into our lives. international system is forcing this problem. the whole think stinks if you ask me!
mike, I agree on the point that Socialism doesn't belong in America. I just hope our government starts to enforce the laws we have on the books. Americans need the jobs that illegals are taking.
Process of elimination. You see, Einstein, given the circumstances, actions and location, it was kind of easy to exclude Amway Distributor and Aspiring Congressman from the list.
No, it isn't. Actions designed to procure employment while present at a known illegal alien day labor site are pretty much the tip off. Oh, another trustworthy indicator of unlawful presence in the country is when they tell you they're here illegally.
Actually, you know it's an illegal alien day labor site when they don't have supervisors on site who check ID's and run background checks ... unlike Labor Ready. Ralph, I don't mean to alarm you but you seem to be a little obsessed with skin color. I'm going to ask you to take an honest look inside your soul to see whether or not you may be someone who judges people based upon race.
You're mistaken. It's perfectly legal for a human being to look for a job, and it's perfectly legal for another human being to hire said human being.
The law requires other things like Form I-9, checking documents, paying taxes, not littering, but you don't verify the employers' records. Do you? You have no idea that illegal behavior is taking place.
You assume that illegal behavior is taking placed based on the appearance of the participants.
You simply don't know what you're talking about. From the beginning to the end of that message, you tapped out all manner of misinformation. Ralph, for starters, take a peek at Title 8 of the U.S. Code.
True, but it does contradict your other flat erroneous assertions, stated earlier, about what the law requires for the purpose of hiring illegal aliens. You can't employ them for compensated labor. It's simply a violation of federal law ... skin pigmentation and ethnicity notwithstanding.
See, this is what I'm talking about. I never made an assertion that the law permitted hiring illegal aliens. You just assumed that the men being hired were illegal aliens based on their appearance.
Ralph, you're running your argument around in circles here. As such, I'm beginning to suspect it would be a waste of time to recruit you for our next day labor site protest. However, I don't want you to think you can't still help because we take cash donations. Now not they're not tax deductible, but at least you'll be able to say "I, Ralph, have done the right thing." How much would you like me to put you down for?
This kind of comment usually comes from someone that knows next to nothing about the issue, and when pressed, also shows that they are in fact a racist.
Very wrong. It is a crime to aid someone that you even suspect of being in the country illegally. Do you care about the law and the Constitution ? Or, are they just to be laid aside in favor of what 'human beings' need because they put themselves where they ought not be ?
Why dosnt sound like you wanna cry lmfao your week

mike, Employers hire them, illegally.

I don't like gov. checks and intrusion into our lives. international system is forcing this problem. the whole think stinks if you ask me!
mikemb123 3 years ago
mike, I agree on the point that Socialism doesn't belong in America. I just hope our government starts to enforce the laws we have on the books. Americans need the jobs that illegals are taking.
rustygaver 3 years ago
I have zero confidence in this governments ability or willingness to enforce those laws.

How do you know he's an illegal alien you old, creepy bigot?
wackymackyboy 3 years ago
Process of elimination. You see, Einstein, given the circumstances, actions and location, it was kind of easy to exclude Amway Distributor and Aspiring Congressman from the list.

Good one,lol.

They're Hispanic, and they work for a living.
RalphNelson 3 years ago
So are half the members of the Florida Marlins. You should really try to put a lid on your racial stereotyping, Ralph.
GeauxNOSaints 3 years ago
Isn't that how we determine whether they're illegal? Skin color, language and working means they're illegal aliens. Right?
RalphNelson 3 years ago
No, it isn't. Actions designed to procure employment while present at a known illegal alien day labor site are pretty much the tip off. Oh, another trustworthy indicator of unlawful presence in the country is when they tell you they're here illegally.
GeauxNOSaints 3 years ago
And you know that it's an illegal alien day labor site because the men looking for work have a darker shade of skin.
RalphNelson 3 years ago
Actually, you know it's an illegal alien day labor site when they don't have supervisors on site who check ID's and run background checks ... unlike Labor Ready. Ralph, I don't mean to alarm you but you seem to be a little obsessed with skin color. I'm going to ask you to take an honest look inside your soul to see whether or not you may be someone who judges people based upon race.
GeauxNOSaints 3 years ago
You're mistaken. It's perfectly legal for a human being to look for a job, and it's perfectly legal for another human being to hire said human being.
The law requires other things like Form I-9, checking documents, paying taxes, not littering, but you don't verify the employers' records. Do you? You have no idea that illegal behavior is taking place.
You assume that illegal behavior is taking placed based on the appearance of the participants.
RalphNelson 3 years ago
You simply don't know what you're talking about. From the beginning to the end of that message, you tapped out all manner of misinformation. Ralph, for starters, take a peek at Title 8 of the U.S. Code.
GeauxNOSaints 3 years ago
Title VIII of the US Code doesn't provide any method of determining legal status by appearance either.
RalphNelson 3 years ago
True, but it does contradict your other flat erroneous assertions, stated earlier, about what the law requires for the purpose of hiring illegal aliens. You can't employ them for compensated labor. It's simply a violation of federal law ... skin pigmentation and ethnicity notwithstanding.
GeauxNOSaints 3 years ago
See, this is what I'm talking about. I never made an assertion that the law permitted hiring illegal aliens. You just assumed that the men being hired were illegal aliens based on their appearance.
RalphNelson 3 years ago
Ralph, you're running your argument around in circles here. As such, I'm beginning to suspect it would be a waste of time to recruit you for our next day labor site protest. However, I don't want you to think you can't still help because we take cash donations. Now not they're not tax deductible, but at least you'll be able to say "I, Ralph, have done the right thing." How much would you like me to put you down for?
GeauxNOSaints 3 years ago
At your next labor site protest you will be assuming that people are violating the law based on nothing but their appearance.
RalphNelson 3 years ago
This kind of comment usually comes from someone that knows next to nothing about the issue, and when pressed, also shows that they are in fact a racist.
oldpreach 3 years ago
Very wrong. It is a crime to aid someone that you even suspect of being in the country illegally. Do you care about the law and the Constitution ? Or, are they just to be laid aside in favor of what 'human beings' need because they put themselves where they ought not be ?
oldpreach 3 years ago
Oldpreach Laws are made and thrown out all the time. Just because its law doesnt mean its right. BTW Why do you put Human Beings in quotes?
