@JonnyDayCase The whole reason Generations has the mix of old and new gameplay styles is because SEGA is always being nagged at by the 2 groups of sonic fans out there. Proof right there. I should have said "has two main factions" instead of "Split into two factions" because of course there are exceptions like you and me who just want to play good games. I was just talking about the internal affairs of the fanbase with that other guy. Also,Sonic Adventures 1 and 2 arnt considered "Modern" Sonic.

sega adds things like the werehog in sonic games to make the game longer. if there were no werehog you would beat the game in about 3 hours and it wouldnt be worth the 60 dollars at launch. thats one of the main reasons sega has trouble making great sonic games. its sad but its true.

How about they not try and make a sonic game every 6 months, and instead take their time to make a long game that is quality? Also, I doubt this theory. Actually, it's been a while since I played it, but there ARE more Day stages than night. I believe the required stages are balanced, but in each hub world, there are 1, maybe two extra day stages, while only four places have ONE extra night stage. Shame, really. I really liked the night stages...

@TypingBlank well, maybe your right. the sega genesis was dominated by the super nes, and the dreamcast had no chance against the sony playstation 2. i haven't played all his games, but i think your right in a way. my copy of sonic unleashed 360 is being a major retard right now, i have an old xbox 360 with the newer 360 software, and the game is messed in this one area. there are two horizontal poles that are placed quite far away. it will recognize the first pole, but not the second one.
this is in chun-nan, the night stage where you have to walk into the red building with no furniture. the level entrance is right in the middle of this tiny building.
Umm, dude. The reason why the water is not falling off of the Earth is because the Earth has a magnetic field which keeps the water, people and other objects on it. Even if the Earth was split apart in real life, the field would still be strong enough to contain the water.

Water would fall in the core of the Earth and maybe a little would float in space, but not all!

Same for our planet, the reason water doesn't drop is because the planet is round, so the water can go nowhere. It only could fall off the planet, but because of gravity that's not possible either. This is no brain surgery.
Well when u strip GOW down to its bases its duel chainlink blade fighting and puzzles. Which is the bases of the werehog just with different choose of weapen. But to be serious the only werehog stages i cared for was the ones in eggman land and adabt. But to just bring the peace lets just say if they took alittle longer on it, they probably could of profected it but all this game was is a learning experience the sonic team. Random side note atleast its not Big's Fishing, tbh those took me longer

Its got better combat because it has more weapons,more enemy variety(SU has like 5 enemies throughout the WHOLE game),it has a sense of stength to it,each weapon has a magic attack connected to it,there are special items like the Bow and arrow and the speed shoes,and the boss fights are LEGENDARY.Also,yeah Chip's voice is strange but its unique and grows on you.Last,even if there are more day stages it doesnt change the fact that the night ones are uh,20 times longer!

No offense, but how the hell can you call the Werehog repetitive when he has such a huge amount of moves and the day stages are basically just RUNNING?! I mean, come on. What is with this baise that a Sonic game means that ALL the game has is ONLY speed. Sonic should be a LOT more than just some race game (against time, not an real racing game). ZOMG! Someone who actually gives a good enough score for this game! People do hate the game, thank God you're not retarded like IGN, who actually gives (well, not much) but a little bit of credit to the Night Stages.
I haven't played this game yet, though I'm gonna get it soon for the PS3. I have the Wii/PS2 version and the night stages in the 360/PS3 version looks FUN compared to the Wii/PS2 version's night stages. Hell I could barely get through the night stages because it had TERRIBLE platforming. Literally, if I had to jump and grab a pole in mid-air, Sonic would MISS IT half of the time even though he locked on it and I just needed to press a button to grab it.
As a huge sonic fan I agree with pretty much everything you said and the score was just right. The daytime levels are awesome and even the nighttime stages were fun
The main problem here is that the nighttime stages have little to no replayability while you would want to play the daytime stages over and over again
even if the game suffers from problems I enjoyed it and im happy to have it in my collection. Fuck IGN though and their shitty score, fucking clueless retards

problem:why am i beating up things in a sonic game?
@raveouse Wow,you are one of the worst/least effective blind Sonic fanboy,that Ive ever seen.There isnt alot of "talking" in the game,that would be MGS4,there is alot of TEXT in Sonic Unleashed.But while Zelda has USEFUL TEXT, Unleashed has STUPID and pointless text that serve NO purpose.You talk about the strength but blow it off as "Just cuz" what a lame excuse! If hes a stronger version of Sonic,he should kill things faster,if not he is a weaker,slower,and overall FAILED version of Sonic.

@TypingBlank the new generation tails is a girl but the old generation tails is a guy but the new generation but you also didn't add the dash attack on the werehog the werehog dash attack makes the werehog fast except sonic gets a little faster and the night levels gett funner if you use this attack and also the grab the enemies and dash attack at the same time the wii version doesn't have this but you forgot this in your review

@JonnyDayCase The whole reason Generations has the mix of old and new gameplay styles is because SEGA is always being nagged at by the 2 groups of sonic fans out there. Proof right there. I should have said "has two main factions" instead of "Split into two factions" because of course there are exceptions like you and me who just want to play good games. I was just talking about the internal affairs of the fanbase with that other guy. Also,Sonic Adventures 1 and 2 arnt considered "Modern" Sonic.

sega adds things like the werehog in sonic games to make the game longer. if there were no werehog you would beat the game in about 3 hours and it wouldnt be worth the 60 dollars at launch. thats one of the main reasons sega has trouble making great sonic games. its sad but its true.

Old sonic fans and New Sonic fans, no matter what Sega does, They will NEVER be able to please all of these fans, because they have conflicting desires. Actually, it's been a while since I played it, but there ARE more Day stages than night. I believe the required stages are balanced, but in each hub world, there are 1, maybe two extra day stages, while only four places have ONE extra night stage. Shame, really. I really liked the night stages...

@TypingBlank well, maybe your right. the sega genesis was dominated by the super nes, and the dreamcast had no chance against the sony playstation 2. i haven't played all his games, but i think your right in a way. my copy of sonic unleashed 360 is being a major retard right now, i have an old xbox 360 with the newer 360 software, and the game is messed in this one area. there are two horizontal poles that are placed quite far away. it will recognize the first pole, but not the second one.

Umm, dude. The reason why the water is not falling off of the Earth is because the Earth has a magnetic field which keeps the water, people and other objects on it. Even if the Earth was split apart in real life, the field would still be strong enough to contain the water.

Haven't you heard of the other planets before our time? Yes, gravity can weaken, but gravity also depends on the mass of the Earth, and no matter how cut, deformed, or destroyed the Earth is, the mass cannot change. Water would fall in the core of the Earth and maybe a little would float in space, but not all!

Well when u strip GOW down to its bases its duel chainlink blade fighting and puzzles. Which is the bases of the werehog just with different choose of weapen. But to be serious the only werehog stages i cared for was the ones in eggman land and adabt. But to just bring the peace lets just say if they took alittle longer on it, they probably could of profected it but all this game was is a learning experience the sonic team. Random side note atleast its not Big's Fishing, tbh those took me longer

Its got better combat because it has more weapons,more enemy variety(SU has like 5 enemies throughout the WHOLE game),it has a sense of stength to it,each weapon has a magic attack connected to it,there are special items like the Bow and arrow and the speed shoes,and the boss fights are LEGENDARY.Also,yeah Chip's voice is strange but its unique and grows on you.Last,even if there are more day stages it doesnt change the fact that the night ones are uh,20 times longer!

No offense, but how the hell can you call the Werehog repetitive when he has such a huge amount of moves and the day stages are basically just RUNNING?! I mean, come on. What is with this baise that a Sonic game means that ALL the game has is ONLY speed. Sonic should be a LOT more than just some race game (against time, not an real racing game). I haven't played this game yet, though I'm gonna get it soon for the PS3. I have the Wii/PS2 version and the night stages in the 360/PS3 version looks FUN compared to the Wii/PS2 version's night stages. Hell I could barely get through the night stages because it had TERRIBLE platforming. Literally, if I had to jump and grab a pole in mid-air, Sonic would MISS IT half of the time even though he locked on it and I just needed to press a button to grab it.

As a huge sonic fan I agree with pretty much everything you said and the score was just right. The daytime levels are awesome and even the nighttime stages were fun
The main problem here is that the nighttime stages have little to no replayability while you would want to play the daytime stages over and over again
even if the game suffers from problems I enjoyed it and im happy to have it in my collection. Fuck IGN though and their shitty score, fucking clueless retards

@TypingBlank mario glitches make a game interesting. characters, storyline, acting-i could give a horse's shit less about it. also, "a boring game with great gameplay" makes no since. when i said "boring", i didn't mean the storyline or music, i meant the GAMEPLAY ITSELF. also-mario galaxy is for a very young audience. there's a point in time when you can read a fucking picture book for crying out loud! plus it's WAY too easy. my 6 year old brother beat that game with ease.

Overall Sonic Unleashed got a 54/100 on Metacritic (I hope you know what that is) So, I dont know why youre fighting ME of all people. @raveouse This video is over a year old, and alot of the stuff I say, such as the Water stuff is A JOKE. I dont litteraly think that you should claw your eyes out because of the night stages, I was exaggeration for dramatic effect. If anything I broke this review up as 5 points Sonic, and 5 points werehog. Sonic got all 5 points, but the werehog got a 2.2, for being boring, and lackluster if anything, but not being shit. If you pick up this game i sure you wouldnt play The Werehog over Sonic.

If hes a stronger version of Sonic,he should kill things faster,if not he is a weaker,slower,and overall FAILED version of Sonic.
