His voice and lyrics made a perfect contrast with the setting & mood of this track. It balances it all out, a harder beat might have distracted the listener from the subject matter and technique of his lyricism. I still bump this entire CD today, even some of the weaker songs grown on you. A must have in any true Hip Hop head's collection.
