This nigga will rap circles around any rapper in heavy rotation on the radio right now. Canibus is a problem and always been a problem. Just ask LL Cool J.
Wow.. This came out in 98 and its still lyrically the greatest flow ever by an emcee.. This is the true meaning of emcee. These clown ass niggaz now a days couldnt kick it like this.. "Niggaz be tryn test but they week like 7 days"... WOW...
I group Canibus the same place I group Sweat Shop Union, Immortal Technique, Low Key and the other rappers out there still keeping the Art of Hip Hop alive and keeping the messages of Hip Hop grounded in reality, challenging the challenges that ought to be challenged.
@TrueSomename kinda but more about how nice Canibus was and how we all thought he was gonna take over rap back then. he had so much potential to influence hip hop for the better towards more intelligence and creativity.
dopest lyricist EVER,..... point blank he was toooo smart for the mass, people as a whole are fucking idiots and probably just didnt get his the metaphors ..
@Mattandhisdroid These are his ''easier'' metaphors to get tho. His other songs are intense and alot more intellectual . Most of his lyrics have more than one message behind em. But yes, I agree, 95% of my friends need the lyrics to be explained to them on a lot of his other tracks. He's a lyrical genius.
ok im gona sound dumb here, but im admitting it. i love canibus, but i keep trying to workout the lyrically on a scale of 1 to 10 im twenty five line''? is there 25 digits on a scale or something? everyone keeps talkin about this line and i want to, but i don't get it. i sound like a retard now don't i.
@Chrisruleshughes "Lyrically [he's] off scale, so all hail or get tossed towards Hell; whatever y'all feel." Get it now? "His [lyrical] power level is over 9000!!!!" LMFAO!!! But no seriously, Bis is just saying he's an ill emcee. In fact, he says he's one of the top five.
i love canibus hes my favourite MC but that "my word i bond like james" is bitten from MC lyte in that antoinette diss, type in MC lyte 10 percent diss
idk what year that came out, but im pretty sure I heard Bis also use the line on the Lyrical Warfare album with Webb that was originally made in like '93
i don't care what any of y'all gonna say...this emcee is the tru lyrical king- this is 98 but listen to the delivery and the punch linez n metaphores, this brother was n will 4 eva b ahead of his time that's why wack niggaz don't overstand him

@JusticeVonBrandt Lol... That's funny. Lil Wayne is a smart mother fucker if you look up his history, but Canibus is talkin about shit that no other rapper can touch basis on. Astronomical, Streets, Atoms, etc.
@NewGenerationProd1 Not from this song.. I'm saying in general. I listen to a lotta lyrics because it's inspiring. The stuff that the dude says in songs is not like any other rapper.
@Dqson thats not really astronomy man and 99 percent of this rap bis talks about killing smoking weed how pussy his opponents r and how ill he is on the mic and 99 percent of rappers all rap about these things
@NewGenerationProd1 Hailey's Comet isn't astronomy? and apparently you don't listen to him that much... He doesn't talk about that stuff 99percent of the time. I think all the people on here would probably agree with me that he talks about other things. He just puts things into a different perspective and his schooling shows in his rhymes.. That's all i got to say.
@Dqson Your knowledge of Hip Hop must be quite limited if you think Canibus is the only rapper that touches metaphysical subject matter (I think that's what you're alluding to). There are MANY. Straight off the top of my head, Pep Love from Hieroglyphics, Company Flow, Aesop Rock etc etc. Also just mentioning Halley's Comet doesn't qualify as Astronomy. That's like saying cuz a rapper said "Burger" he must be talking about Home Economics! He does do metaphysical, but not on this track
@JayGriffinblaze Hence why i said he's just talkin about this stuff. Not that he's writing a book about it. Also, my statement wasn't a literal statement when i said that he's the ONLY one. That's like saying that Tony Hawk was the FIRST person to do the 900. I'm sure there's others. Don't insult my intelligence. I live in a sarcastic world, like you, where everybody exaggerates. Also, make sure you read all of my comments because i did say not on this track with the metaphysical stuff.
"There ain't a microphone brave enough to give me feedback. I'm strong, my word is bond like James. Niggas be tryna test, but they weak like 7 days. Emcees run away when I kick it, they act so chicken, they should come with a large drink and a biscuit."
Phenomenal is an understatement . Canibus was beyond his years when he first came onto the scene. (mainstream) he was easily overshadowed by the new hip hop movement that consisted of Jay- Z , DMX , Cash Money Ent era. These rappers were all poster children for the new movement. DMX was the darker side of life , JayZ was the glitts and glamour and the primary voice of the streets, better known to whites as the ghetto ( strongest influence ). Cash Money ? Need I say more ? Now we have Soldier Boy
Canibus is the ultimate executioner's dreamSwingin the guillotine, cause whenever the head is severed from the human body with a sharp enough weaponthe brain remains conscious for ten secondsLong enough for me to give you one last messageAnd when you get to Hell you can tell Lucifer I said it YO THIS LINE IS CRAZY HOW DOES HE THINK OF SHIT LIKE THIS
@DaMostEnigmatic That album came out in June(The Undergods: In Gods We Trust - Crush Microhphones To Dust). If you haven't checked out Canibus' new 'Lyrical Law' album. Search for the 'The Emerald Cypher' on youtube, it's on the album.
"Whenever the head severed from a human body with a sharp enough weapon the brain remains constant for 10 seconds/long enough for me to give you one last message/ and when you get to hell you can tell Lucifer I said it"
"Prepare for the worst, this next verse is the face of death, me without lyrics is like a porn flick without sex, illmatic, my lyrical skills are JURRASIC, with more flavor than skittles when I'm digitally mastered, I go off like a cannon and blow up the planet with "No Fear" like them clothes white boys be wearin' I'm tougher than denim, lethal like venom in snake bites, the marajuana makes my eyes bright red like brake lights!" - This is crazy, who rhymes like this?
"yo whoever grabs the mic after me'll get booed, get everything in the club thrown at you and your crew, from Moet bottles to barstools fruits and food, you got an album out YOU'LL GET HIT WITH YOUR CD TOO"
The quality of this track is quite low. But classic 90's hip hop song for sho. I was 12 when this shit dropped, never forget how my nigga came to school with a discman always rappin this with his headphones on and I was like "nigga who is that rappin like that" he was like "nigga thats Can I Bus" lmao so Canibus and Eminem were my favorite rappers at that time
Dont get wrong, canibus is probably the most lyrical rapper to ever come into the game, but he has no hit records. 50 cent got 'in da club', eminem got 'my name is', jay-z got 'hard knock life', lil wayne got 'hustler musik', canibus has ?????????
@TheRealism09 the main reason is that canibus just uses lyrics too intricate to understand for most people. and if most people dont understand it they wont listen. and please dont mention lil wayne in a discussion with canibus in it.
@TheRealism09 what you listen to those wack mutherfuckers 50 cent eminem jay z lil wayne all those are fags dont ever compair them again or i kill you
@TheRealism09 Canibus has every single song, you just are too ignorant to realize that the knowledge that comes out his asshole is more valuable than those idiots entire lives.
@TheRealism09 "2nd Round KO", "Buckingham Palace", "Get Retarded", "I'll Buss Em You Punish Em (Ft. Rakim) , "Levitibus" , "Poet Laurerte", "100 Bars", uhhh shall i go on or just stop here...
@TheRealism09 canibus got credible music and a rep that cant be faded, money cant buy you that shit, everybody might not respect bis on a sucessful level but as far as lyrics go, 99 percent of mcs KNOW that canibus is among if not the best lyricist PERIOD, fuck a hit record hit records fade, classic music dosent
This song displays canibus amazing abilties as a rapper compared too what he is now is just unbelieveable, during the late 90's rappers like jay-z and dmx were being considered too be the bestbut neither of those rappers have the lyrical skill that canibus possess on this song. smh canibus was Rhyme God and he has fallen from grace.... sad really
@bornloser89 This beat is perfect. Most rappers today couldn't even sound half as decent as Canibus performed on it. His voice and lyrics made a perfect contrast with the setting & mood of this track. It balances it all out, a harder beat might have distracted the listener from the subject matter and technique of his lyricism. I still bump this entire CD today, even some of the weaker songs grown on you. A must have in any true Hip Hop head's collection.
@3FlipNik1337 Yeah, the boys from Rhyme Asylum, Vakill, Celph Titled, Locksmith, and Immortal Technique with his latest project release are some of the other artists of today that are definitely up there with them. Can't forget Mos and Talib, Pharoahe Monch, Black Thought, Kendrick Lamar (making me really proud the way he's handling the limelight). It does suck that so many greats had to leave us so young, at least they left us with some gems.
@Sickplicity1290 absolutely, also if you're familiar with Lowkey and The Narcicyst, more on Tech's genre and activists, but dudes have phat lyrics, totally feeling content. can't fuck with the WU either, Heltah Skeltah, Rass Kass, Common Sense, Professor Griff, Vinnie Paz, Apathy, Diabolic, Nasty Nas, Sunz of Man, Tragedy Khadafi, and honestly, i'm feeling Cudi also, but the list goes on and on. so many amazing lyricists. so underrated
@MCJay2daSun he didnt wanna rap anymore, no one gave him enough props and em shrugged off the only real lyrical challenger to ever go at him, nothing left in the game for him. canibus and proof are the two most underrated rappers ever to live
One of his greats..I remeber listen to this back in the day with the seat back in the gs400 goin over the skyway outta tampa with the sun going down....it was sick...tampa is the greatest...

unbelievable.

TheRealism09 8 months ago
@TheRealism09 the main reason is that canibus just uses lyrics too intricate to understand for most people. and if most people dont understand it they wont listen. and please dont mention lil wayne in a discussion with canibus in it.
wontonman24 8 months ago
@TheRealism09 what you listen to those wack mutherfuckers 50 cent eminem jay z lil wayne all those are fags dont ever compair them again or i kill you
pontus227 8 months ago
@pontus227 first of all, i kill you? lmfao grow up, Eminem is awesome so is Canabis dont put em on the same list with lil wayne ever clown
andyeminem23 7 months ago
@TheRealism09 Canibus has every single song, you just are too ignorant to realize that the knowledge that comes out his asshole is more valuable than those idiots entire lives.
FatBeatsHipHop 8 months ago
@TheRealism09 "2nd Round KO", "Buckingham Palace", "Get Retarded", "I'll Buss Em You Punish Em (Ft. Rakim) , "Levitibus" , "Poet Laurerte", "100 Bars", uhhh shall i go on or just stop here...
GrandmasterSexay05 8 months ago
@TheRealism09 canibus got credible music and a rep that cant be faded, money cant buy you that shit, everybody might not respect bis on a sucessful level but as far as lyrics go, 99 percent of mcs KNOW that canibus is among if not the best lyricist PERIOD, fuck a hit record hit records fade, classic music dosent

this song is unbelievable, im speechless, the flow, lyrics, beat.............
omeedtheking 8 months ago
This song displays canibus amazing abilties as a rapper compared too what he is now is just unbelieveable, during the late 90's rappers like jay-z and dmx were being considered too be the bestbut neither of those rappers have the lyrical skill that canibus possess on this song. smh canibus was Rhyme God and he has fallen from grace.... sad really
sille0123 8 months ago
What a lyrical monster my god
andyeminem23 8 months ago
@bornloser89 This beat is perfect. Most rappers today couldn't even sound half as decent as Canibus performed on it. His voice and lyrics made a perfect contrast with the setting & mood of this track. It balances it all out, a harder beat might have distracted the listener from the subject matter and technique of his lyricism. I still bump this entire CD today, even some of the weaker songs grown on you. A must have in any true Hip Hop head's collection.

@realktalk wtf are u talking about? he's the best MC period.
3FlipNik1337 7 months ago
@3FlipNik1337 Canibus is fucking amazing, but there are other fellow underground MC's that are in his realm. Such as K-Rino and a few others.
Sickplicity1290 4 weeks ago
@Sickplicity1290 can't argue with that, K-Rino is one of the greatest, Rakim, Big L (R.I.P), Eyedea (R.Eye.P), so many more..many dead sadly
3FlipNik1337 4 weeks ago
@3FlipNik1337 Yeah, the boys from Rhyme Asylum, Vakill, Celph Titled, Locksmith, and Immortal Technique with his latest project release are some of the other artists of today that are definitely up there with them. Can't forget Mos and Talib, Pharoahe Monch, Black Thought, Kendrick Lamar (making me really proud the way he's handling the limelight). It does suck that so many greats had to leave us so young, at least they left us with some gems.
Sickplicity1290 4 weeks ago
@Sickplicity1290 absolutely, also if you're familiar with Lowkey and The Narcicyst, more on Tech's genre and activists, but dudes have phat lyrics, totally feeling content. can't fuck with the WU either, Heltah Skeltah, Rass Kass, Common Sense, Professor Griff, Vinnie Paz, Apathy, Diabolic, Nasty Nas, Sunz of Man, Tragedy Khadafi, and honestly, i'm feeling Cudi also, but the list goes on and on. so many amazing lyricists. so underrated
