to all the arm chair critics I just have one point to make 3rd in scoring on the dream teamand Magic said when God made a basketball player it was CM. Which of the posters out knows more than Magic about BB?
UP! I love this video! I think Chris Mullin is one of the best 3 point shooters in the history of the NBA. What's the name of the artist and of the song? I love it! Sorry if i can't speak so good english but i'm Italian. Luca
man im tired of people saying that this guy is the best shooter because of this and that...... its plain and simple that the BEST shooters take the most shots like reggie for example, but bird was the first shooter who actually had skill from the three point line. allen possibly best shooter today, but if you ask me as far as the mid 80's and 90's there WERE NO better SHOOTERS than mullin and miller.
@mrBballable Mullin is not the best shooter ever. Is he the best left handed shooter? Probably, but still not ever. Was he the best pure shooter of his time? Absolutely.
Now his running ability... um... yeah, back to his shooting ability! lol. :D
Mullin was clutch as they come. Not to mention he also got lucky with crazy shots going in. Btw - did you know he could shoot with his left or right hand?
Yes, Mullin is still my all time Favorite NBA player, he'd still kick ass today!!

GSW's for ever. Brooklyn thank you for CM . I'm 54 and have been to a lot of GS games from the 70's to date, and CM with out a doubt in my book is an all time great NBA player easily one of the best GSW's . He had style , quickest hands I ever saw on defense and around the rim on O. Magic say's he should be in the HOF who can argue? I could go on and on about the incredible plays I saw him make. He was as gifted & fun to watch as any I've ever seen. That includes TV. One bad mother jumper
damn that's sick. That's coming from a guy who's 5'5 but do windmills and double pump dunks. I used the training program at - snipurl[dot]com/nbatraining - and gained over 13 inches on my leap. Being able to finish my dunk is the least thing I have to worry about in basketball now, haha.
Along with Bird, the most EFFICIENT (most pts & assists for the time he actually had the ball) player ever. Averged btwn 21 and 26.5 from '89 to '93 and SHOT OVER 50% all of those yrs.
Regarding the move on Magic, Chick Hearn actually commentated "This could be the greatest shooting display EVER"...he his his first 4 3's and a TON of jumpers.
Probably the assumption that one attains "street cred" points for being raised in Brooklyn, even tho Chris was as pasty as a Englishman. He had a certain kind of cocky confidence that his goofy white teammate Tom Tolbert DID NOT have coming out of California.
Not saying it's true, just saying that's probably the assumption.
I have no idea who it was. Some dude on the Suns. I think that was from 1989. I wish Mullin did more of that in his career. He wasn't aggressive at all when it came to driving to the hoop. He was very laid back with his layups.
What are you talking about? The NBA is more diverse now with all of the international players. Don't get me wrong, I love old school ball, but don't hate on today's game.
I mean the culture of the NBA. Back then it was proper used for everybody....Now NBA is more of a hip-hop urban league. There are International players, but still, it doesn't overpowered the image of the NBA. thats what i meant
The NBA actually is trying to get away from this "hip-hop/urban" image you describe. Look at the music they play before commercial breaks Tom Petty and other shit that doesn't compliment the game at all. Also, the league instituted a rule that players have to arrive to games in suits. You can't change the way players look and where they come from. It just so happens that a large majority of NBA players do come from urban, lower income neighborhoods. I see this as a positive thing, personally.
I think the issue here is that you are stereotyping today's players because they have tattoos, earrings, etc. Sure, there are some legit "thug" types like Jamaal Tinsley, but that doesn't represent the entire league. Basketball has developed into a very urban game, which IMO is good, because it presents the opportunity for talented individuals to escape lives in urban communities that may have otherwise led them to lives dominated by gang violence and crime.
i think with the dress code for players arriving at the game and the charity commercials they are trying to give the NBA a more positive outlook. Chris Mullin is one of my favorite players by the way.
urban doesnt mean poor, it means you live in an area where man made structures are common and packed close together, ive lived in both urban and suburban areas, and there are people in suburban areas living below the poverty line, and ppl in urban areas making millions
Man, I love the start of this vid. The music in the commercial is soooooo smooth like Mullin's gm. The New Yorker talking with the famous New York accent describing Mullins gm n character. Just a great video. Mully is a very good NBA n Pro player. One of the best left handed shooters I ever ever seen. I mean, he can stroke it with the best of them. I remember him being on the best Olympic team ever in 1992. Just a great caring human being n a great player.
Odd enough when he came into the league he was lazy. However he wised up and worked on his game and his advantages. Especially being a left handed shooter, which is as much an advantage as being taller or being an ambidextrous shooter.
wouldnt say he was lazy cuz in interviews he has said he always worked out he just drank too much. affected his workouts. i would never call him lazy always a gym rat
@VeoShock Mully was so fun to watch play, a slick dribbler , crossed up many NBA legends, and with a half a foot separation would pull up and nothin but net. Go in amongst the trees and spin it off the glass before anyone could react. Truly amazing. He deserved the HOF, I'm so happy for him that he made it
timmy and mully were sick. i was too young to fully understand how great they (and the team as a whole) actually were back then, but i'm glad i grew up on them. 1 dub. 1 love.
The most crafty player of all time. I don't know if we will ever see another white player from the USA that is this good. He took over so many games with his court savy, shooting, and smarts.
white people in the usa have been brainwashed to believe being white affects there abilty for so many years, so it will be much more common for white europeans, who are free from stereotyping, to have better all around games, and for there to be more of them, which is sad to me, but i feel its just too late
True. In fact 100% of NBA white all stars right now are not from United States. I´m not american but it seems that since the NBA bet for athletics over fundamentals (younger and more athletic players in last 10-15 years) maybe white young kids in american schools are discouraged to play basketball.
white kids arent less athletic, thats not what im saying at all. im saying that they are lead to believe they are in america, but not in europe, which is why pro european/foreign white players all pretty much are athletic and are better than white american players, and as a result have greater success and higher numbers in bball than white americans. ive lived in america my whole life, trust me when i say that the stereotyping that goes on here is absolutely rediculous.
You are right. USA today ran an article on it. In the US it starts very earlly that white players are made believe in HS that they cannot compete against black players. And this comes so self re-inforcing that it eventually translates into fewer white players competing at top level.
Easily one of my favourite players
