I know age plays a role but... 71 weeks and I don't know. You do know that jump is not only the strenght, not only the plyo, but also it's in the head. Jumping high can involve stress. When I do depth jumps, i step off, and then jump so hard on the rebound that I get a headache. I really push myself mentally. Then in the gym, when I REALLY stressed myself mentally I could jump very high after strenght training only. Now I am into plyos and have had good results but... its just not the thing yet
hey guy your jump form sucks ass get lower and explode up you jumping soft if you lower your back and bend knees lower and get your arms into your jump your vertical would be 34
I know clearely buddy is not smart enough that muscle weighs more than fat so you should just train your butt muscles your hamstrings and your calf's and quads
I'm not complaining. I was chronicling my experience, which sometimes included pain. Many people found encouraging to see me keep trying throughout the pain and small gains. You apparently are not one of these people.
he's right, you need to build force into the ground, and use the stretch reflex more to get that extra speed which is that plyometric type bounce, also transferring that horizontal speed into the ground helps.
Keep it up, your going well. Its gonna be up & down like that. I for some reason have lost allot of strength in the last week for no reason, for instance I used to be able to power clean 70kg, but now I cannot even do 58. Congrats on about(lol) to have a baby, use that as your focus.
yeah i get my hand higher on a wooden court all the time. most park goals are 2 to 3 inches higher than they are supposed to be cause no one bothered to put them up right.
Two other factors are that wood kind of "bounces back" the force put into it plus you'll get much better grip than on a sandy, dusty, or rocky outdoor court
Get yourself some "cell-tech" you'l be dunking in no time.

try air alert. 8-14 inches higher in 15 weeks.
P.S dont do air alert in concrete. Do on grass or carpet.
superice1234 2 years ago
don't do depth jumps on concrete or your results will be poor, your muscles are getting too much shock on concrete. do it on grass or a gym floor.

you should try the vertical jump bible, it tells you EVERYTHING

You can recover from your workouts quicker if you take some bone and joint supplements. And a steady dose of Calcium and VitaminD will help too.

You could just try to dunk the real ball and get astounding results.

you have no explosion in your takeoff, try sprinting and swing your arms more, watch some videos of 2 legged jumpers.
