Celestia controls the Sun and day, and Luna control's the moon and night. 1000 years before the series Luna got jealous of the ponies love for the daytime. Celestia traps her in the moon and the main characters turn her good after she escapes. she's smaller here because she was diminished in size in the show after becoming good again.

It's a shame Hasbro aren't sticking closer to the cartoon for these toys... Celestia should be white in stead of pink, and not have transparent wings. Luna should be a purple'ish dark blue and have light blue hair... and her cutie mark ought to be placed much higher on her flank... it looks really weird when it's centered and reduced in size like that.

I honestly think you should watch the show before reviewing the toys. The toys are based on the show and they got a LOT of things wrong here, as Hasbro usually does. The show would make a great reference point for a reviewer such as yourself.

It'd be nice if they made some accurate colored ponies. Celestia looked very pretty with her original white fur, and Luna with her midnight blue. But, they color them for silly marketing techniques,correct sir?
Oh and, after a while, Princess Luna became resentful and turned into Nightmare Moon - She swore to cover Equestria in the darkness and refused to the lower the moon to make way for the Sun. the "tatoos" aren't tatoos, but kind of like birthmarks. There are episodes of mlp, and in an episode they explain about those "tatoos" in pony school.
There is a prince, but Hasbro has a strict "No Stallion/Colt Policy". Anyway, I wouldn't imagine why anyone would want him. He's a pompous, ill-mannered, egotistical, snob. I think I now understand why he's called "Prince Blueblood".
There are other males in the series, just not toy form.

If you wanted to know more about the mythology, Princess Luna (raiser of the moon) was jealous of Celestia (raiser of the sun) as ponies enjoyed her sun while they slept when the moon was out. She ended up turning evil, selfishly wanting to have the moon perpetually remain out. Celestia banished her for 1000 years. When she managed to come back, a unicorn, appropriately named twilight, saved the day reuniting the princesses and bringing peace.
well every pony has that tatto and it describes their personality. for example pinky pie likes partys so she has balloons as her tattoo. i dont exatly know everything om MLP i watched a couple of the shows. and all i pretty much know is that in the show they go on a quest of friendship. i dont know how the lilttle pony would be evil too!

Oh and, after a while, Princess Luna became resentful and turned into Nightmare Moon - She swore to cover Equestria in the darkness and refused to the lower the moon to make way for the Sun. Princess Celestia defeated her and banished her to the moon, yada yada yada. Like I said, check out the series c:

Princess Clestia raises and lowers the Sun - there for, her talen is.. The Sun.
Princess Luna has a moon for a similar reason - she raises and lowers the moon.
Cutiemarks represent the pony's special talent - the pony needs to earn it though - discover it themselves. Watch the series, I recommend it.

The 'tatoo' Is called a cutie mark- every pony gets their mark when they discover their talent. Celestia has a sun because she is the princess who raises the sun every morning. Princess Luna raises the moon each night. Keep doing these yupyup! I'd love to see one of fluttershy.^^~

There isn't a Prince because for one, there aren't many male roles in the show as it is, two, ponies don't really have to worry about plumbing...and if they did, Luna and Celestia could just use their unicorn magic to do it themselves.

Ahem, yeah. What everyone else said, the tattoo is a 'Cutie Mark.' It only appears when a pony finds out their special talent, no needle or ink required.
Also, don't be surprised if most MLP:FiM fans are males 13-40

the "tatoos" aren't tatoos, but kind of like birthmarks. There are episodes of mlp, and in an episode they explain about those "tatoos" in pony school.

There is a prince, but Hasbro has a strict "No Stallion/Colt Policy". Anyway, I wouldn't imagine why anyone would want him. He's a pompous, ill-mannered, egotistical, snob. I think I now understand why he's called "Prince Blueblood".
There are other males in the series, just not toy form.

@AtamaiiDolls I know, but at least we got customs. However, I wouldn't mind seeing one of Big Macintosh or Braeburn. The only male character in this toy series is Spike, and he's more of an accessory than a figure.

Very nice review! If you wanted to know more about the mythology, Princess Luna (raiser of the moon) was jealous of Celestia (raiser of the sun) as ponies enjoyed her sun while they slept when the moon was out. She ended up turning evil, selfishly wanting to have the moon perpetually remain out. Celestia banished her for 1000 years. When she managed to come back, a unicorn, appropriately named twilight, saved the day reuniting the princesses and bringing peace.

well every pony has that tatto and it describes their personality. for example pinky pie likes partys so she has balloons as her tattoo. i dont exatly know everything om MLP i watched a couple of the shows. and all i pretty much know is that in the show they go on a quest of friendship. i dont know how the lilttle pony would be evil too!
