@StrapAssassin1 Verizon has a Windows Phone called the HTC Trophy. It has very similar specs in terms of processor speed and memory etc. Same resolution too. However, it doesn't look that similar. If you want similar hardware, you won't find it on Verizon. If it's more the software/apps/UI that you're interested in, the Trophy is a very good match.

Ordered this one. I originally wanted the HP Pre3 but it doesnt get to Norway in a good while. I've had a HTC Diamond now for years and it has turned insane. Really insane. I believe it has achieved some sort of artificial intelligence since no cellphone can shutdown and start during conversations and write my texts for me. I am really looking forward to Windows 7. It looks beautiful. And with the Mango update it will be an even greater phone. Can't wait!

Phone 7

Pros: Lovely interface. Runs smoothly. Potential in app store. Synchronises well. Zune.

Cons: Can't drag-and-drop like an external hard drive (over reliant on Zune). Can't open more that one programme at the same time, toggling between them. No text flow to force content in the window. Blocking alternative software; Opera, Google maps and search, etc. No phone navigation. No flash player in browser.

It is a good phone with potential, but it could be a great phone. 7 out of 10.

@noppiichi I am not sure about LG Optimus 7 but I have the HTC HD7, also Windows 7 phone and yes it does play music background to anything really, games and browsing. And currently yes it can load youtube, it has its own app for youtube.

@WalletBoy35 --- The iPhone can't do much that this Windows Phone 7 phone cannot do, it's the Apps of the iPhone that does the most things for you. In Windows Phone 7, things are designed and included in a much smarter way - and if you want apps, there are 10 000+ apps (and growing with about 1000 apps every two weeks) for Windows Phone 7 too. So if I were to advice you (since you seem to be a bit new to the smartphone area) I would strongly recommend This phone instead of an overpriced iPhone.

@wonhoyoung --- It's because the U.S. network carriers are forcing the phone manufacturers to create special models exclusively for that 1 carrier. That's why your phones (on contract) always have ugly carrier logos and can not be found anywhere outside the carrier network (or U.S. itself). The phone manufacturers put a lot of time, thinking and design in the official European & International phone models, so when they are forced to create 1 version for just that 1 carrier - they take shortcuts.

@AndryaBsb At first you have to charge it full, then leave it until the battery drains totally out. After the device shuts off due to lack of battery, charge it fully and use it.

Its upgradable but not swappable.

You either do it at the beginning, or backup all your settings, and then to a reset and/restore.

Its not meant to be swappable. It takes a class 2 chip.

Some will piss and moan about this, but it was meant so all your things are kept in 1 place.

And some phones dont even offer this option at all... iphone(that is a nightmare upgrade).

I think you might be wrong about not receiving live updates from different apps. While there is no strict multitasking, WP7 does use push notifications, so that different services can alert the user to new messages/events/data/whatever. I could be wrong, as I'm not sure exactly how it works, but I'm almost certain I read that.

158 grams is about 1/3 lbs. The responsiveness of the Win (Zune) phone is excellent. I just don't care for the tiles and there is too much scrolling on the home page. Something for MS to work on.

Bing search algorithms are inferior to Google's.

Don't really care for the off center text where you can't see the entire title at the top. May be arty, but somewhat annoying.

It would be nice if they could find a way to add AM stations so one could listen to ESPN or FOX sports radio stations.
