funny how he mentions (spare the rod spoil the child) shame they don't use the rod these day kids would be more disciplined and not out of control and when i mention that its not for them to whip or any phyical abuse because i know how ppl work
The year in the Sleepy hollow is supposed to be 1790. George Washington is the 1st President of the United States & New York is supposed to be considered a state.
7:32 Wet pants? Wow even Disney had some slight innuendo back then. But at least that isn't so glaring and unsubtle as untrained, perverted hands would do so today.
@HighPrinceGasket Very much so, yes. I started watching this movie because I was unfortunately deprived of it as a kid. :/ When I heard Basil Rathbone's voice, I was overjoyed.
I'm 21 years old, when I was a child I watched the Mr Toad story countless times. I didn't even know this story existed. Abbydobbie and youtube, I thank you for this.
@BEL79NUN I disagree, they may look similar in appearance but their personalities are very different. Gaston was a selfish, self serving and violent egotist. Bram may have been a practical joker and he may have liked getting into fights but overall he way a good guy.
I have the 1999 VHS of that movie which was under the "Masterpiece Collection" that I got at Goodwill recently, but I've never bought this tape until now and this was the last Disney film to be released on VHS under the "Masterpiece" name. I used to have "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" VHS as part of "Disney's Favorite Stories" series, but I got rid of it, because I like the entire film better along with "Wind of the Willows" into one film.
@HomeoftheGoodGuys The film was later released in the 1950's as a featurette, and it was narrated by Bing Crosby, the singer and actor who had a bunch of songs including their all-time holiday classic "White Christmas" as well as "Swingin' On a Star" and even starred in a bunch of movies including "Holiday Inn", "The Bells of St. Mary's", "Going My Way", "High Society" with Frank Sinatra and many of his "Road" films co-starring Bob Hope and Dorothy LaMour.
This cartoon reminded me of Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, Lady and the Tramp, Sword in the Stone, 101 Dalmatians, Cinderella and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
Perfect in every sense of the word. This brings me back to my childhood, watching this in the cozy comfort of my grandmothers living room, and scaring myself silly!
It truly is a shame. Walt Disney's works were nothing short of spectacular, and "Ichabod and Mr. Toad" was no exception.
The really sad thing is people buy into what Disney Channel is dishing out. These classics need a return to the big screen; it'll do our society some good, as far as entertainment is concerned.
OMG!!! I'm totaly in love with "The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad"!! I bought the video years ago and loved it from the first time I saw it. It has the charme of good, old Disney-Films, funny characters and really great music. Awesome!!
i remember watching this one in 4 grade cause my class read the book, not this version, a different one. and right when we got to the end, the bell rang! and i never saw the ending. until now1 thx for uploading! ^^ i just recently watched Sleepy Hallow, johnny deep version in my english class in 10th grade, and bought it 2 weeks ago.

If you make a parody of The legend of sleepy hollow use
1. James as Ichabod crane
2. The ghost engine from scaredy engines as the headless horseman
3. Diesel as Brom Bones
4. Boco as the Horse
5. Lady as Katrina van tisel

Even though Pixar's animation is really well done, we need the hand drawn animation back. How they draw the characters in Disney is simply perfect.

@AnimationManiac Very true. Disney needs to go back to traditional animated films like these and leave the CGI to Pixar.
