@vetteboy453 That's exacly right. The red line moves depending on oil temperature and preasure and so on. It takes like 5 minutes for it to get all the way up on idle from a cold start. You can't rev any higher than the redline, it's put there to protect the engine while it's cold.
No this is a test that you do on the new bmw's were it tests if everything is working like the dials and stuff like the whole panel. its just a system test.
It is partly true. It's not time limited but instead temperature and pressure limited. Takes like 3-6 minutes before it allows full rev. Also it won't go beyond 7k RPM if in neutral I've noticed.
Don't understand your questions here... While developing the M3 they researched what the best options would be for it's weight, aerodynamics and existing technologies and BMW has a past of being against turbos and the result was a high revving V8.
I'll have you know that it is regarded as the secret menu since it's a button (and switch) sequence you have to enter in order to get to this. It is made for the service center to get into the cars main computer from inside the car. One of the options in the secret menu is test and that's what I'm running in this video.

m3s are all limited to 150 mph or about 225kmph because of how the tires wear so the speedometer going to 220mph or 330kmph is unnecessary, and for everyone who hasnt noticed hes running the test sequence, because he thinks hes so cool driving a bmw, like most bmw drivers who think they're better than everyone ELSE, if you don't want to look like a knob don't buy a BMW, just buy another European car because they are normally better designed (thats non BIAS but true)
Actually, all German cars are stock limited to a max of 155mph, if not lower. This includes ALL Mercedes AMG, BMW ///M and Audi RS cars. This was done for liability reasons and also to make the German Green Party happy.
Of course, you can take the limiter off and the M3 will approach 200mph. The M3 is truly a marvel of technology and performance.
Lol you fail, and the BMW's are limited to 250kph, and it's not because that they can't handle the speed, because they CAN(many ppl have removed the limiter)..
why have so a idiot a bmw m3

lockzi 3 years ago
It revs high because of its engine design (short stroke), which does include the Dual Vanos among other things.

yes, i know...short stroke...high revs....like F1

Okay... So everyone who thinks they are cool runs the test sequence, interesting enough.
To summary, you've just proven that I really am better than you to say the least. Cheers for raising my confidence level beyond previously possible.
