  • is she eating him

  • @Nikki1481 no she is eating the placenta en cleaning them up

  • @DNITEsBLACK

That's repulsive. That insults us rat lovers.

  • i love rats...as food for my snake

  • for all u people who's saying rats are cute, probably are fucking sickos. rats are fucking disgusting. need to fuckin extinct. sorry I just hate them coming in my house.

  • @ST8CPT ...you fucking tool, I think you are fucking disgusting and would hate the FUCK out of you coming into my house. Get fucked moron, we dont give a toss what you think...retard

  • @MARKYPERTH What needs to become extinct are ignorant wastes of my precious oxygen like yourself. Get fucked, buddy.

  • yr gunna need a bigger cage lol

  • I love how calm they are about the whole thing. It's like 'Out you come!' Pop! 'Now you.' Pop! Not like human birth: 'Arrrggghhhh!!!! Give me drugs! The pain! The pain!'

  • @HFOlcot ik think humans would go crazy when they had 13 newbors. lol respect for the rat.

  • Rats are some of the most affectionate, sweet, and intelligent pets I've ever had the honor of having. My boy and girl couple, Jack and Bailey, had 10 babies and it was amazing to watch! We kept them all Daddy and his boys went into a seperate cage when they were weaned and mommy kept her girls. 6 of the babies survived- She was a great rat mommy! Even let me pick up and hold them when they were just born.I raised her from when she was a baby so she trusted me. They're amazing animals!

  • EmilyMishap...ur not very smart. Humans have a fixed pelvis that enables us to walk upright...no other animal does...the bones in the fixed pelvis make birth much more risky and much more painful. Humans also have a baby to mom ratio that is the highest in the animal kingdom...a newborn human's head is one third the size of an adult. Apples to oranges...

  • @ElementOne3000

If they feel threatened the mom will eat their babies, she might also eat them if they're sick/misformed at birth

  • im breeding my rats for feeders and selling to pet stores my blood python didnt want 2 rats nd they were both male and female

  • @ElementOne3000 Because hamsters are evil

  • aww shes such a good mommy! <3 so cute!!!

  • What did you do with the babies?

  • a bearded dragon would love to eat these :)

  • @MiSsEmOgUrLxOx hey man, i know it's nature and all, but these ARE people's pets, and as much as i've owned reptiles in the past, i own rats now, and i know this makes me cringe...not cool.

  • what is she eating 3:52

  • @missdancelover1234 The mother will usually eat each placenta and the umbilical cord....

  • I know right I have a female rat myself and she is extremely friendly....she's albino

  • i don't understand how people can hate rats they are the best pets i've ever had no offence my fish and snake...

  • @imagoofygooberer In the wild they're pests. Also, even domesticated ones will pee everywhere to mark their territory, especially males, even if they're litter-trained. And they're always destructive if they get out. They constantly gnaw and can ruin anything they get to. I've kept rats but they're not for everyone.

  • @Duterasemis you have to raise them well. teach them not to pie outside the cage and nibbel on everything they see and everything else you demand of them just like you need to raise every animal but after that they are wonderfull animals and they learn fast.

  • I purchased 2 rats the 6th of August, both around the same age/size, and its been about 20 days since i got them. one of them however has gotten extremley big in the tummy and her nipples are swollen and her tail is swollen, she is starting to shove all of her bedding to one corner of the cage. Is she pregnant or not, im not sure. If she really is, does anyone have any advise for me?

  • @laughterispossible17 I'm sure you already found out, but for everyone else who is wondering, rat gestation is about 21 days after successful breeding. They start to show a week before it's go-time. Before she starts to show, the queen will normally start nesting and hiding food all over the tank or cage. It's best to give her her own nesting tank so she will feel safe. Be sure to let her have play dates with her cagemate so they don't go crazy though, as rats are very very VERY social.

  • And after she gives birth, remember, she goes into heat almost instantly afterwards, so keep her away from her beau for a while. It's probably best to keep them separate and when the babies get old enough to eat on their own, separate the males from the females.

  • @laughterispossible17 I think my advise comes a little late. how did it go?

  • @laughterispossible17 Did she have babies?

  • i have a guinea pig

  • This cage is not in poor condition. This is like the only rat birth video where the owner has the proper kind of bedding that won't make mama and the babies sick. And Mama rats make a nest, you are supposed to give them lots of stuff to make one with. Do some research before you post stupid shit.

  • Awwa I woulda stomped on them yuck!

  • @mzuptop WTH? would u like to be shrunk to tiny size and stomped to death?

  • @mzuptop you deserved to be stomped on.

  • This cage is in poor condition if you want healthy babies clean up the crappy cage. The mother looks uncomfortable.

  • @101lizardsrock I don't think that the cage is in a poor condition. it's a birth giving rat...it seems you've never seen a place where a rat have given birth to their babies...but I've seen it many times and sometimes there is much blood and sometimes less and sometimes there are little peaces of afterbirth...in any case it's not a clean business when a rat is having babies. I don't like prejudicate people.

  • i feel bad for the baby at 1:58 and the one at 2:02

  • Toxicrainbows, you say its grosse,

  • ew that is so gross

  • I love rats! Such sweet, loving animals. Thanks for sharing this video!

  • fucking nasty! i wouldnt want one as pet if i were you

  • @SJ9765, Yeah but you're not him/her...

  • What a good little rat momma! :)

I think it's funny how human females bitch and moan about the pain of childs birth while this little girl just kicked out 6 babies!

  • @EmilyMishap Human and rat birthing is entirely different.

  • Aw, adorable! I have two female rats, they're so sweet and cuddly. They're always so happy to see us and they've never bitten us.

Bath time is a bit of a struggle though, haha, they hate water!

  • @EllenDarker hahaha I love rats, too! I also have two females who don't bite and hate baths! I've had rats for 5 years now :):):) I absolutely love them <3<3<3

  • Speaking as an experienced owner/breeder......the rat "phobia" is quite common, but in the case of domesticated pet rats completely unwarranted. Properly handled domesticated rats of good pedigree are virtually INFANT safe and proven to be smarter than just about any dog/cat. A tamed rat hardly ever gets provoked to the point of biting unless it's life is in danger.....and sometimes not even then.

  • why is the poop OUTSIDE the cage?? lol gross!

  • @NeuroGeek85 it's not poop....

  • why is the poop OUTSIDE the cage?? lol gross!

  • Awwwww... I have a guinea pig now but I'll always love my little rattie - RIP Pinky . You were an awesome little guy :(

  • Wow. How many babies does one mama carry at once? No wonder they can overrun a location so quickly....

  • i dont know why i'm scared of rats??? i think its a phobia because a big fat giant rat bit me in the toe, and i had to go to the hospital for 1 week to kill the rabies... and when i see a rat, i'm so freaking scared. (lol sharing) :DD

  • rat never really seem to eat their young which is another reason why they are better then gerbils

  • @gothicqueen60 same with my male mice they want to talk to each other then they attack :/

  • Wow she is doing great. She's a lovely colour :)

  • as a soon to be rat grandma this video was very useful thank you very much.

  • Awww rats are so cute.. Why do people think so bad of them?? Rats make wonderful lovely pets.. I want to get another one my old one passed away and for about a year I haven't wanted to get anther one but I think I am ready now..

  • cute i love rats

  • This was so beautiful. I have rats of my own and they look just like mamma in this vid and someday I want to breed them

  • for those of you dumbos who think she is eating a pup at 3:35- whatever time she is actually eating a placenta... dummies...

  • was she eating them?

  • iwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

  • will it blend?

  • @maddyvillareal13z lets give it a try, I always wanted to put one in a blender.

  • I took my rat to the park, every one saw it, and now I have no friends :(

  • @randomacountboy Your rat Is your friend:P

  • Beautiful. Looking forward in my dinner now

  • aww the baby is soo cute!

  • aww what a good mom she is gona be ^^

  • I love your ratty! :)

  • @HoneybunchBunny shut up she wasnt eating it retard like jengaem said she was cleaning it

  • every 1 shes cleaning the babies not eating tem geeezez

  • she was eating a baby, but it's really normal for animals to do that when the baby is weak or if they don't feed her enough proteins

  • @HoneybunchBunny ehm are you meaning the dark red thing? Thats the placenta, animals eat it because its very rich in proteins and will help them build their system so they can feed the babies.

  • @xLisssaaax are you sure it was a placenta lol

  • @HoneybunchBunny Well unless it was a really deformed baby or a blood clot then yeh im quite sure since i work in a pet shop and had to unexpectedly observe the delivery of a litter :)

  • @xLisssaaax

Yes, they also eat it because if they don't, the scent can attract predators.

  • Cannabalism

  • is it EATING the babies?

  • @Madge1Monkeys its not eating them! its cleaning them

  • Why don't women give birth this quietly- imagin if they tried to deliver 12 babies

  • i always wondered how they can pick their babies up without nipping them with their teeth! are rats really friendly? ive always wanted one but i am afraid of being bit as i have before by small mice and hamsters and i didn't like that very much but they are so so cute!!!! are they a lot of work to take care of?

  • @crazylilshortie21 mice and hampsters are stupid, literally stupid, compared to rats.

its like apples and oranges man.

  • @Waxxumus I'm calling analogy police

  • @crazylilshortie21 i thought they bit too until i got one, they r the best pets in the wholeee world they NEVER bite everr! and ive dont the mice and hamster thing too and they bite. u shud definatly get a rat :))

  • Amazing few years ago my pet rat gave birth to 23 babies all was healthy n so was she now I have two hairless n an alibno

  • It's only a good idea to impulsively buy a rat if u r prepared. By the time u can take it home, its not an impulse anymore. U need a large cage, food, bedding, toys, be prepared 4 medication, etc

  • wow is she eating it, that incesterous cannibal little slag ;) ! the other day i fished a dead rat out of my pool and thought "your an adorable little bugger rnt you?" and with that i threw him in the bin. Now i am thinking maybe i should buy a rat tomorrow out of impulse. Good idea anyone?

  • @uuukay i believe she was eating something called the placenta. apparently, it gives her strength.

  • i have a male rat

  • clean the damn carpet from poop you filthy scumbag

  • A little bit on rat birth

Rats can have anywhere from 10-18 or maybe even more... the mother will eat only dead babies and the placenta. Only, and i mean ONLY, if a rat is malnourished or disturbed will she eat her live young. Btw, cute video :)

  • That was actually unexpectedly beautiful =)

  • Cute. Now it's time to get the glue traps and put them into work!

  • @ICACARROT ur a sick person what the hell is wrong wit u! >:(

  • @ICACARROT if you have much care in animals you would know that they are very clean animals in captivity!! Ya no duh!! sewer rats are dirty!

  • @Lexi72598 rats in general are dirty

  • @ICACARROT NO they arnt! if youve never had a rat you wouldnt know!

  • @ICACARROT rats are actually one of the most hygienic pets you could own.

  • @Lexi72598 Rats are naturally clean pets and keeping their cages clean just ensures it. Rodents make good pets apart from males do smell a bit more.

  • @Gojira1954x THANKK YOU!!! at least someone knows :)

  • What a caring mum, looking around to make sure she got them all. Beautiful. :)

  • so are you

  • it's so amazing how they change from little pink log, to fuzzy kind companion!

  • I love it "I didn't leave any behind did I??" :P My god they have a lot of babies...

  • so cute

  • Awesome video. I think one of my does may be pregnant, and seeing the actual birth really helped put my mind at ease. I hope she'll make as good a mommy as your rat =]

  • I really loved my pet rat and she was so intelligent. I was devastated when she died after two years. I just wish rats had longer life spans.

  • Way to go momma those babies are going to be the prettiest babies out there =3

  • My rat waited until I wasn't home to give birth. Hehe. (She was pregnant when I adopted her -- and you can be sure I separated the pups into boys and girls at the right time to avoid having oops babies of my own!!)

  • aww your rat is lovely! I don't get why people don't like rats they are funny little buggers and they're not evil and are extremely cute little things! I've had 18 rats-1 had babies and I kept them ALL they were no probz and Ive still got them all ! : ) happy happy xx

  • Yay! Baby rats!

The world is a better place now :)

  • All i have to say is RATS are very beautiful ,social ,intelligent beings that do not get the right CREDIT that they DESERVE by a long shot.

  • i lost my rat due to throat cancer,

she never had the chance to have those beautiful babies

    R.I.P. Patch

  • @SodiumTheBand at least she is in a better place...

  • @ManifestPrime yeah, thanks ;)

  • I have both rats AND hamsters. My rats are much more friendly, intelligent, and affectionate. Hamsters are cute and fuzzy, but easily upset by environmental stresses, and more likely to nip, and more prone to broken bones from falls. A rat is a hefty, sturdy animal, less delicate. Rats are more resistant to human-borne viruses than hamsters, like colds. A common cold will kill a hamster quickly. I would rather have a pet that snuggles up in my lap than bites me when I give it a treat.

  • @MeshuggaMama exactly!!! hamsters r adorable and all but u want a pet that loves u back!

  • Educate yourself on the plague. It was not spread by rats. It was spread by fleas that ingested it from the blood of-pay attention now-DOGS. Man's best friend. People would put a small dog at the foot of their bed to attract FLEAS away from their owners. Wild rats, as in the forest or city sewers, can carry salmonella that they get from their wild food. No worse than a raccoon in your dumpster, really. And a rat would not really want to hang around someone as ignorant as you, in my opinion.

  • @MeshuggaMama Not to mention that the REAL culprit behind the black plague was straw roofing! Rats (who had the fleas that had the plague they got from dogs' blood) liked to live in it. So maybe we should be acting more paranoid about the construction of our houses :)

  • @MeshuggaMama

i can't say anything about dogs being the main spreaders, as i heard basically anything that can carry fleas would have helped spread the plague...but the disease comes from a bacteria inside the flea, not the flea itself. =] just sayin'!

  • @MeshuggaMama Yep. fleas carry vectors. not rats

  • Omg! this is soooo beautifull! Makes me cry!

  • Babies! @w@

  • That's a lot of puppies! How many were there? :)

  • Never deny a pretty rat its blender.

  • @V904T Hamsters, you mean? Not "hampters". And how is it crazy that people keep rats as pets? How is that any different than a hamster or guinea pig.

Oh, and fyi, rats did not start or spread the plague. Parasitic bugs that landed on rats spread the plague.

You seem like you very much need to do some research. Because I'm an absolute idiot and I could win an argue with you any day.

  • @AlphabetSoupCircus love u ur sooo right!!

  • @V904T You make me sad. Rats are such kind animals and hamsters can be such mean, unforgiving bitches if you catch them on a bad day. :( Rats do not = plague, by the way, and domestic rats even less so.

  • @V904T Rats =/= plague. Plague-carrying fleas = plague.

  • @enwinor That only applys to wild rats.

  • @OhMyGoshMaryAnn Exactly.

  • @V904T WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WIT U

  • @Lexi72598 Nothing I just think rats are disgusting thats all

  • @V904T THEN Y DID U WATCH IT IF RATS R DISCUSTING!

  • how long do the babies have to be with their mothers? cuz im going to get another rat and breed them and were going to keep 1 and sell the rest

  • Nice rat but you know they DONT like light !

  • @MrBilbo13 Your an idiot. Rats just hate light when they want to sleep. Most rats will change their sleeping habits to their owners. fucktard stop living.

  • @xxxxtokishonexxxx hes not an idiot, you are you spaz. YOU stop living

  • @andream1985, No, would you squish puppies..? Or kittens?

  • @andream1985 Squish them... WITH KISSES!!!!!

  • @hangaozu - Oh heck no! I'm a european female. Majority of us are terrfied of rats and mice. I dont mind squirrels, chipmunks etc. They're rodents in fancy costumes. The teeth and the tail are the worst. I love my cat!

  • @andream1985 die

  • Great video. How many babies did she have? She looks a bit like my Bast who had 11 gorgeous babies in March.

  • HOW MANY DO THEY HAVE AT A TIME??? xx

  • cool people think dat rats are rank and stuff but there not there cute and ive got 2

  • I think its amazing when animals give bith they dont have anyone to help them and no pain meds and some of them have more than one they have litters what a great job your rat did

  • Do rats need a mate to produce?

  • Rats sometimes eat their young. Disturbing.

  • @HerpGoddess

yeah and did you know that several other species of animals do that same?

  • Awe! My rattie is going to give birth any moment now and she is in labor!

    I'm so excited!

    Thanks for posting this!

  • so cute :0

  • It looks pretty tired at the end lol :P

  • it's a super video i'm wating of the birth from my rat sorry i'm not good in english

  • @slewischic22rox you are ugly :DDD

  • @FuzzlCore Do you know what i look like?

  • @slewischic22rox then why the hell are you watching this if you dont like rats, asshole??

  • @slewischic22rox Next time you reply to a video, try not to come across as quite as much of an idiot.

  • @enwinor shut up lozer!

  • @slewischic22rox

Also, you're annoying and probably 13. So Shhh.

  • @enwinor i am 13 you got a problem?? WITH THAT HUH!?

  • @slewischic22rox

    like your momma

  • at 3:39 what is the rat eating?
