I deserve the right to see the original theatrical release if the DVD had the name, "The Lion King" written on it. If it says special edition, then yes, maybe it's been changed, but as a consumer, I want to opportunity to see what was on my videos before they died, on a BluRay or DVD.

@timrob12 He didn't do it this time, a famous voice actor named Jeff Bennett did it for him. Yeah, I'm disappointed that Jeff nor Rowan had interviews :(

I liked the original lion king version, because the part where Mufasa tells Zazu what Simba's doing is really funny. I know I can see that on the Lion King Activity Center on the computer.

Oh, I almost forgot, the original version of I Just Can't Wait to Be King is way better than the Special Edition because of the crocks aren't moving well.

sarurocks4life is right. On the 2003 release you have the option of watching the original theatrical version without the new song or the new remastered version with the new song.

it wasn't a bad scene add, but i would have used the Unseen Be prepared to make the movie better, not the morning report. or hell, i also would have used Chow Down

I loved the Lion King, it was my favourite film when I was a kid. But just as they put an new scene in the Beauty and the Beast, the whole nostalgic idea is totally gone. The song is not bad, but it should either have been in the original or it should have been in the delete scenes section. I still hope they will release the real original on dvd...

yeah I agree that I hate the special edition with that stupid song morning report. I also bought it only so I could play it in a dvd player but watch the same original movie, I was disappointed with that song. And yes I noticed it wasn't there in the original and yes I noticed it wasn't the same kid singing as the vid said we wouldn't. See I love disney but they always go to far to be good. They never stop where they should.

There was nothing wrong with the new song..However, it just wasn't the version I watched as a kid so naturally I didn't like it as much..I'm sure if it was in the original it would be fine..But I wanted to see the same version I saw when I was 5 y/o..Scene for scene..

I really think that they should not have messed with it. They could have just animated the Morning Report and put in the deleted or alternate scenes section instead of changing and ruining a great scene by making zazu sing. The only reason I wanted to buy the dvd in the first place is so I could play The Lion King in a dvd player, not to watch one of my favorite movies be messed around with stupid. And that kid sounded nothing like Simba.

Wrong. The original young Simba was voiced by Jonathan Taylor Thomas and his singing voice was Jason Weaver while that new crap song was voiced by Evan Saucedo.

@yaoifreak14 I actually don't mind the song entirely, but yes it is kinda crappy the more I think about it. I agree that the young kid sounds nothing like young Simba, but remember they couldn't get Jonathan Taylor Thomas because he's now in his 20's and it would sound really awkward for a guy in his 20s to voice someone who's five maybe six.

Lion King is my favorite Disney movie bar none, but I think that adding the song was a bit of a mistake...

This addition is awful. Why throw new music into a movie that almost won a best picture? All this does is make us angry at disney. This is as bad as the "human again" song they added to Beauty and the Beast.
