Matter of fact, I'm glad neither of us is God because I couldn't tell you how many times I've seen a person with something as nice as a $200 Jacket and immediately counted them a wicked, sinful, and prideful person.

@innocentul he admits that he is proud, listen to 3:10. He never claims that he is some standard that peons should follow, but our standard is Jesus. Don't look at Mark, look at Jesus.
I love how focusing on humility can be a downfall. it takes all your energy and and strength to try to be humble and in the end, most likely you'll end up just being proud agian. When we look at Jesus, we naturally understand who we are in light of Him, and humility is the only right response.
In "Counterfeit Gods", Tim Keller talks about replacing our idols (pride included) through worshiping Jesus. This takes the focus off of us and our pride, replacing it with focus on Jesus, leading us to acts of service for Him and others.
@MrCharrrles I would suggest speaking to a pastor from a good church in your area about this..but know that Jesus coming to die on the cross for sins was the greatest act of humility EVER! (Philippians)..to come from His glory in heaven to die for His enemies..yes we were all his enemies..Romans 5..also focus on the grace of God..grace is the greatest pride destroyer there is..there is nothing u can or EVER will do that can save you but it is EVERYTHING Jesus has done for u! Praying for you

I would note, just as one particularly relevant instance, that I've seen Driscoll thoroughly humble himself in the pulpit. Living in the power and conviction of the Holy Spirit tends to have those sorts of effects.
A false humility is better than arrogance, or even no humility.

What Mark is not telling you is that humility is for followers, not leaders.
Leaders will hold followers to account for their pride, but followers will hold leaders to account.
Leaders call their pride confidence and vision.
Leaders call any competing vision pride.
