@sbasanty , true this pan is not meant for frying but i use it this way to fry the Kufta, much easier than using a pot or a frying pan and then transferring it to the baking pan...anything works for me, i use it! thanks for coming by.
Hi again, the question I have is in order to the kufta not to break apart, do you add any egg, flour or bread, I was wondering since I have not see any of these on your recipe?
@gling2 , no. I do not add eggs, bread crumbs or flour to the meat. Of your meat is fine ground it should hold well when you mi. It with other ingredients such in my recipe. I only add couple of spoons of tomato paste for extra flavor. Good Lu k.
u dont know how helpfull this is. i come from an arabic family, but now i left home to study..so i dont have my momaa with me to cook for me. :D now i have to do this on my own and ramadan is coming up...so thaaank u sooooo muchh !!!
I was so happy to find this . My husband is Arabic and i am German, i have never heard of or tasted Kufta but i made it using this vedio and I love it and so did my husband ! Thank you so much
i am used to the kufta made with a little crumbs added , deep fried , then after adding a little sauce (rather than dumping the kufta into a whole pot of sauce) baked in the oven , that way the kufta comes out black and crunchy on the outside yum yum its one of the best things about ramadan
it just says Seasonings. What seasonings? Cumin, Allspice? Cinnamon? Coriander? And how much? Please help! I am anxious to make this but don't want to make a mistake and it taste bad. Thanks!
Usrabella, of course you can bake them in the oven, the reason i do them on the stove top because it is faster to cook than the oven. also, try to put some breadcrumbs or flour mixed with the meat to hold its shape if they break. just a small trick you can use with ground meat.
well, there is a very simple reason why i did not add potatoes...my son does not like it with it so i just do not add it, although it is delicious with this dish :)
i fry them to get rid of the extra fat that bleeds out of the meat once you fry them...i drain it and then add the meat to the sauce.
You're welcome sweetie and thank you for your videos! I made my husband some falafel the other day and I couldn't believe that he actually ate a few and liked it! He's from the deep south (Georgia) and he's only had cornbread all his life. LOL! :D XOX
it s definetly a very good recipe, if you like the sauce little thicker, u can peal and finely chop 2 big tomatoes. Another way of making it,instead of frying the kafta, you can just spread it in the pan and use a knife to cut in sequares but keep it attached, cut potatoes, onions, and tomatos in 0.5 inch slices ( you can fry the potates if u like more flavour), then add the sauce and cook it in the over. It s superfast, less calories, and very yummy.
Thanks Greenfield2828 for your comment. I know of this recipe too , i cook my Kofta this way too sometimes. i think it is not less calories if you fry the potatoes and add it to the pan! But i am sure the flavor would be out of this world! :)
I suggest to add some green peppers when you add the onion to the kafta ( just cut the green prpper like the onion and add them altogether to the kafta)
also you can add 2 or 3 minced garlic cloves to the sauce or when you add the onion and the green pepper
the green pepper with the garlic will give the sauce a very good taste
i did not add them because my son does not like them, but i should have mentioned that they are added in this recipe. thanks for coming by, watching and leaving a comment. i appreciate it.
Foolishagal, thanks for your comment and i am sorry it took me a while to get back to you on it.
You can put it in the oven of course. actually that day i videotaped it, it was too hot and humid and i did not want to turn the oven on, so i cooked it on the stove top! thanks!

I must admit the best I have seen so far, very simple, but I might add some potatoes though, I prefer this over oven baked trays Kufta. many thanks

Hi, when I do the meatballs on the stove they break apart...can I put them into the oven instead to hold their shape?

my mum used to fry them, i on the other hand drop them directly into the boiling sause without pre-cooking. they endup exactly the same!
strange that you unconventionally add potato to a lot of ur recipies, except for this one that is traditionally cooked with them...
