PC stuff can be a bloody pain, I fully get your drift, I self taught myself over the past ten yrs, & I will ave a go at sorting anything, my suggestion is like another reply is, to use Chrome, as YouTube are constantly updating their codes Chrome tends to keep up with this way more than Firefox or the dreaded Internet Exploder!! I ONLY use Chrome now & it is way faster too, its much simpler than the other two, I have installed it on all my friends PCs & they love it. best wishes dude
@backcountrypipe Hi Mark, I'm glad it's not just me mate. The advice so far has been to try out Google Chrome. I hope that will fix the problem. Best, Tim
Nice ramble. Are you using internet explorer? You may want to start using google chrome for your browser it seems to work better. I love those old old pipes with the silver hallmark bands, would love you to show it to us. See you.
Tim, sound rant, the updates seem to be never ending on HR. Your a star a replies, I could do better, but I can now write comments on my smart phone......like this one..
@dubinthedam Ah the smart phone. I had one but somebody thought they would do better with it.. so i'm back on a silly phone. Hope you are having a great summer mate. Cheers, Tim
Thats a sweet looking Astley's there Tim. Thanks for the J. Upshall ebay info. Some great pipes there! Yes, what is it with YTUbe? They think they're taking a step forward and always seem to be taking two steps back, haha. It is frustrating!
I've got several issues with it. Didn't seem to be so bad a year or so ago. Hope the Professor is well and you have a good visit.
@astroman2112 Hi James, Thanks mate. You can get some great pipes on the Upshall site. You're not wrong about tube tec.. when I was first on here things were much easier..
I doesn't matter if you use lighters or matches to light your pipe. As long as you get it lit. Do you have a pipe lighter? They are safer for the bowl then a regular lighter.
I was wondering if you can please let me know the names of the Vapers you are smoking now. I've really come to like Escudo and want to try some others.
Another splendid Astley - great stuff! I'm reading Brave new world at the moment and can see the parallels in the way our society is becoming more and more controlled by technological edifices which are not democraticly accountable or operated in the interests of the people; experion etc.
@BCRichardsonChannel Hello Brian, Bloody youtube!!! If it's not one thing it's another. Well mate I have now been helped out and calm has returned once more. You know my grandad smoked Erinmore. One day I was smoking a bowl of the stuff my dad came into the room and it was as if he had been transported back to his childhood. We spent the afternoon taklking about his dad. We had a great time. The power of the pipe! Cheers, Tim
Blakemar calls that shape a Cairngorm. There's some other shape's names on their list I've never seen any where else (Pennine, Artist, Top, Mendip, etc...). What do you think about that?
@RequiemPipes Hello Gustavo, Yes mate I had seen that. I'm not sure it would be seen as a classic shape but I'm more than happy to call it that. Cairngorm, Pennine and Mendip all refer to ranges of hills here in the UK. Thanks for stopping by my friend.
@bahumutx Matthew, Thanks very much mate. I'm very excited about BAC of dip I've been waiting a long time to get my hands on one. Hope you are enjoying the summer. Cheers, Tim
My sympathies, Tim. The doctrine of continual improvement has really taken over technology such that the evolution of their products isn't necessarily one towards greater ease and simplicity. Often appears to the user as change for its own sake.
Great vid you will love stokers wintergreen tub of snuff it's great and cheap its about 10 dollars here in Pennsylvania great bargain and it's so soft on the old gums haha
@madmolloy1 Thanks mate. I've been wanting to try it for ages and like you say cheap as chips. I paid £12 and that includes shipping to the UK 10 normal cans would cost around £50.
Have you tried using another browser?, sometimes I have some problems with Firefox and Youtube or other web pages, so I switch to Google Chrome, and it works better , almost perfect. those Java and flash Plugins.are the culprits .
Yes, I have the same problem when i reply to comments. To make it a bit easier, I go to the "view all comments" page and start at the bottom. Reply to the first comment... refresh the page... and move on to the next.
technology, love it when it works, hate it when it doesn't. anyway another great video tim, look forward to another proper beer review with the professor.
I agree, it does look like a lovely pipe. I've purchased a few used pipes from both ebay UK and DE, they do sell a great selection of classic English pipes. However, it's important to keep investing in new pipes so as to maintain the pipe manufacturing business alive - as anything else, buying estate pipes can become quite an addiction.
On Upshalls ebay page they sell both new and used pipes. The Rhodesian last time and the pipe I was smoking today were both new. I think like you that it is important to buy new pipes. Though I like to buy ancient estates they are a little special. Smoking a pipe that is over 100yrs old is a real thrill.
I love it when you rant about technology...it always makes my day.....i can just picture you swearing and shaking your fist at the computer LOL :) I about fell off the chair laughing when u mentioned the BIG ASS CAN of dip....oh i can't wait for the review LOL ...cheers my friend :)
I'm sorry, but glad to hear that I'm not the only one having troubles posting replies. I thought it was just me. I've been right clicking and then hitting refresh to get the job done.
