Same with Black Snake Moan. I think the way the movie was advertised really hurt it; they made it look like smutty garbage and that hurt the film because it's actually a very well made, genuine film.

@StreetsOfSonic It's a horribly made film. That's why it failed. For a film like this to do well you needed the critics behind it and this film just sucked so when you don't have that and it's supposed to be a thinking film it fails. Film is intelligent but is filmed horribly and the story is horribly told, perhaps it's not a horrible story but how it's told is horrible. And the whole well let's do another tangent universe thing cause I did that in Darko is just stupid and out of place here.

I like how u didn't back up anything u said. How was it "terribly made?" It was actually a GREAT "thinking film," it's just that they basically explained the whole thing at the end, although there WAS a lot of symbolism & such.

The beauty in this film is the fact it's satire. The film is a mockery of American life in general & I believe film as well. The movie tricks you into thinking it's bad when it's really superb.
