As with Iraq, the primary reason for these acts of aggresion by the US is to establish a permanent military presence in these areas. It is the setting up of strategic chokepoints on energy supplies to India and China, so that the US and it's junior partners in Britain and some of the other NATO countries can maintain control of the global economy well into the 21st century. The 'war on terror' is a media spin aimed at securing the blind loyalty of the average slob in the street.
