  • As a resident of Marlborough Street I'm not convinced the problem merits the drastic measures that are being proposed.

The fire engine does successfully manage to get down the street and (officially) there has never been an accident or injury to any pedestrians who use the extremely quiet street.

If double yellow lines were painted down one side of the street this would leave cars able to travel at speed down the street making it more dangerous for my young children (think Bath Street).

  • @lobe1999 "does manage to make it down the street" Barely... and imagine there was a fire at the bottom... it couldn't gun it full speed down that road. As a Firefighter that does demand measures to change the parking there there are larger fire appliances like turntable ladders and Major incident units that would never make it down that street in a fire.

  • Really good video but a bit too long to get across the points. Great to see the Council using this form of media, much more interesting than a committee report or public meeting.
