The fx is better and deffinetly better price too. It can go off road and the bmw cant. the Bmw gps system is also very difficult compared to the FX. The Bmw engine is fast but the fx's engine type is one of the top ten best engines for 13 years.

I am a high school teacher at a private school where every rich kid drives a BMW or pimped out car. However, my 1999 Ford Explorer has 190,000 miles on it and since 2005 I saved money. I drive the liquid platinum 2009 FX35 I bought last year. This "vehicle" is for people with taste and desire to think outside the box and 300 horses lets me get the hell out the box fast and my students give me an A+ for taste, but I always wanted an infiniti FX35 and now I own one and I F------ LOVE IT!

@gocanes98 I do a lot of vehicle travel and I took the fx 35 for a test ride, you feel every little bump, it rattles the kidneys far to much for a vehicle in this class. If you're looking to impress someone with this vehicle, don't take them for a ride, just let them stare at it.

@GuyMyron because it is designed as a sports car based performance SUV crossover. If you wanted a softer ride, you can settle for the Chrysler Town and Country or the Toyota Sienna. You would have a similar stiff ride experience with the Porche Cayene.

In short it is an issue of certain trade offs. I don't mind the trade offs. I had my FX for more than a year now and it is a pleasure to drive more than the other rides that I had in the past.

I love both crossovers. But when you think about it the BMW was truly inspired by Infinitis way of innovating a coupe like body into a high performace crossover. The innovation of this design has inspired many companys such as BMW and Acura to adopt this design and make it their own. The Acura ZDX was a tragic design that just demolishes the whole concept of a coupe like crossover. The BMW X6 was well executed but exagerated, the Infiniti still holds #1 in luxury and design in my opinion.

You know i think this vehicle looks awesome, at least in person, i think it will make good sales for bmw however the styling of this vehicle ain't very original, it reminds me too much of Infiniti's FX which i think looks hotter than X6 and Nissan does deserve credit for it's originality in design. FX was launched way back in 2002. The FX inspired most car companies (Buick, Toyota, bmw, Audi, Ford, Lincoln, Chrysler) to start making crossovers with resemblances of the FX. Kudos to Nissan.

I actually got up close to an X6 yesterday and its not as bad a looker as I previously thought - but the FX still trumps it in so many areas.

I would go for the FX50 S however.

They have just recently produced the most awesome vehicle to date (R35 Nissan GTR) and they're gobbling the competition's traditional market-shares in ever growing numbers.

Honestly, some of BMW/Mercedes' productions as of late are truly "pop culture" vehicles.

Everyone knows them and most are automatically impressed - true motor enthusiasts appreciate quality vehicles.

what technology? did you not hear the guy say the infiniti has a way better nav. sys? the japanese are always the topdogs when it comes to electronic technology. you need to test drive the fx and x6 first before you start spitting out shit on the fx. the x6 is so damn fat like the americans. the x6 is so damn fat and heavy that it's hard to push it to its limit. i freak out everytime i try to drive the x6 to its limit. the infiniti handle way better and it glides like a razon on curvy roads.

i did test drives on infiniti, toyota land cruiser and volkswagon touareg - the cars on my list . . . and infiniti seems to me the best ... i am not so found of BMW so cant really say much about it. if not infiniti than surely land cruiser ... this is amazing drive as well!!!
