Now I have a question.....when sending text messages or making calls from the number that the Google Number is "hooked" up too, will the Google number appear? Or will the original cell and or home number appear?

@Annazayla It depends on how you want it. If you have a smart phone and download the GoogleVoice app, you can make calls and send text messages, and your GoogleVoice number will appear as the outbound number. If you don't have the app, or simply use your phone to make the call or text (without accessing the app), the number issued by your service provider will show.

I am very happy Google is giving us a break on our drag out phone bills,everyone needs a break now and then,and thank God we have a service such as Google.

The only bad thing about getting a Google number is that you don't get free carrier to carrier calls.

@Jesipr got A-List (AT&T) or Friends and family (Verizon) then use your google number as one of the numbers, Got Sprint or T-Mobile... your outta luck

Just got my invite. =) six long weeks but it came. I suggest you people go with the second option. You get all the features that you do with the first one and more. You just have to dial ur google number for voicemail.

Can I do both? Or can I first choose the voicemail option and then later get a Google number?

@johnpatrickrich if you are a student you get it within 24hours... They just started that this week. Well you don't HAVE TO BE a student, just need a student email or someone with a student email
