This woman is mentally ill. Different isotopes effect different parts of the human body, all doing DAMAGE, but some perform damage to the right places that can actually help us. If you are exposed to high levels of radiation for long periods your going to get sick/cancer and probably die, ever heard of Chernobyl?
People that crazy should be allowed to get as much radiation as they want, it will help remove their genes from the evolutionary process, its just natural.
Have to agree with Bill. In a situation like this, it is best to err on the side of caution... She has a point, the media is in frenzy mode about radiation... But who fucking cares? She's using a valid intellectual and scientific point not to promote calm, but to feed the frenzy by being controversial... I say, who cares, take precautions and go on about your life.
I mean, there is a small amount of truth in the saying "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger". Children whose mothers constantly make them use hand sanitizers, and/or go to great lengths to reduce exposure to viruses and bacteria actually have more health problems than children who play in the dirt. The reason is pretty simple. Our bodies immune systems LEARN resistance by being exposed to small amounts of harmful stuff. A trace amount is better than nothing or a large amount...
She is just another soul-less whore who makes money by saying controversial things and claiming "the media wont cover this" -- YOU'RE ON THE MEDIA SAYING IT RIGHT NOW DUMBASS!
In addition, what she is trying to say, but failing to get across, is actually true... To a very very limited extent. Studies have shown that trace amounts of toxic substances such as arsenic or radiation, can be good for the body because it causes they stimulate the immune system... But not enough to be worth noting.
It's not like she's even selling radioactive elements for her own profit. She's not being racist. She's not stomping on the poor. She's not trying to appeal to Christians.
If you examine the only "study" for which she gives an author, you find that Bernard Cohen is not AT ALL saying that increased levels of radon lead to decreased cancer.
His studies were meant to compare methods of looking at exposure and risk (the threshold vs linear no-threshold models). In his 2005 paper, Cohen takes the very apparently correlation she's referring to and specifically says NOT to draw conclusions about the dose-response relationship from that data.
Well; Miss coulter; if its so healthy; why don't you keep a stash of plutonium and spent nuclear waste in your kitchen ? Pseudo scientific republican bullcrap.
Its funny how these two accept scientific consensus, only when it suits them. If this was a discussion about evolution, do you think they would accept the general agreement of the scientific community?
Thanks for recommending Cobalt 60 for my coffee and juice, Ann! Of course, my pee glows now, and every toilet I've used in the city have been destroyed...oh, and I've been charged with vandalism. Never thought pissing in the toilet would throw me in jail.
Seriously folks, when I saw this on the Business Insider website, I had to stifle a laugh. And I agree with you, Danoranje, O'Reilly is the one with sense.
I'm afraid Ann took in a bit too much radiation this time.
so using coulters logic being shot in the head is good for you... as long as the bullet is made of milk and it is shot slow enough to be comfortably ingested orally. coulter might recommend your children get plenty of rest, exercise, and be shot in the face. har har republican logic fail
why does anyone put this stupid bitch on tv? shame on fox fake news
I don't understand Coulter's point about how radiation in small amounts won't kill you and how the media is to blame for her not knowing that.... Umm, Ann... I learned this in high school. Maybe you should harangue your lack of high school science/chemistry education, not "teh media."
all she did was give you evidence of previous studies....KEMO, Breast Exams, Cobalt Exposure...hello people... a lot of scientist are saying it fights as well as harms.
what happened to Europe after their level 7 meltdown.??? nothing... HELLO!@!!!!!! you see any two headed Russians?>>>
