  • One of the best guitar solos ever, sound and lights are badass!!!

  • I was lucky enough to work security for one Pink Floyd show back in the early 90's for the VIP seats. The say the show was amazing just doesn't do it justice. Sure wish they would put their differences aside and get back together......

  • If only I could go back in time and see them

  • @Greg1965videos if only my dad took me to this concert when i was a baby

  • Mystifying, Gilmour is connected to something we cant understand.

  • @Kostly agree, but not just since Floyd, even before, no one has ever been in their league

  • If Jesus played guitar ...it would sound something like this

  • @lolwut71 but, he would be playing "Dear God" by XTC

  • @lolwut71........... maybe Jesus is Gilmour's music instructor???

  • And if were JESUS it would be awsome and much much much better than anyone could ever dare play, all kidding aside

  • @rad2k7 Definitely one of the best solos ever, but if you think this is a great light show, which it is, then you havent seen trance light shows they are the most amazing visual arts ever put in as a light show

  • Not the best in my opinion, but a good one indeed.

  • the guitar solo to end all guitar solos

  • trippy

  • MY LIFE IS COMPLETE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • man can he rock it or what what can i say man

  • The one post I saw was right...Waters must have gotten tired of making YouTube accounts after those first 81...

  • Damn David Gilmour has such incredible tone, both live and on records. Grabs ya right there...

  • this song seriously damn near brings me to tears. the raw emotion he puts into his playing is incredible. Pink floyd, i love you so much.

  • I saw this show 8 times... the same guitar solo for 1.5 hours... where's Roger?

  • Gilmour influenced my playing more than anyone. The level of style and emotion, not to mention the TONE, is unmatched by anyone. Period.

  • holly. shit.

  • Good, but Floyd has better solos......

  • this is epic. i mean i will not use this word again for quite quite quite a while.

  • 81 F*cking Idiots who listen to NickelBack

  • @woodchris01 it might surprise you, but I like both NickelBack and Floyd. I am not saying NickelBack are in Floyd's league..for that matter no one is or will ever be as good as David Gilmour and Pink Floyd, but NickelBack aren't that bad (which is what you imply)

  • @genghiskhan32 No one, since Floyd, has been in their league.

  • Galactically powerful, an instrumental”quasar” beyond compare….

  • That's all you want right there! FUCKING SCREAMING ROCK AND ROLL GUITAR!!! Not to mention the best light show ever!

  • yeah no

  • Yep that man can play!! He's one with the guitar.

  • I LOVE DAVID GILMOUR

  • David Gilmour is awe-inspiring. If you have a chance, you may want check out his "Live at Gdansk" performance.

  • Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Beethoven, Pink Floyd, nice Women, God and not much more.

  • @MrDavide111 bacon.

  • @MrDavide111 , why would you possibly ruin that list by throwing god in there ?

  • @JesusWasAnAsshole Hopefully you'll find out why soon

  • @MrDavide111 Mozart, Beatles, Einstein the list is endless

  • @pigurine agree on Einstein, a little less the others but yes you are right, it is endless.

  • I go with those below, best is too subjective, best is what, country, jazz, rock, r&b, classical, too many genres to say best, and undoubtledly David;s most popular, but for me, I have to go with "Shine On You Crazy Diamond"!

  • Like NO Other! Amazing light show!

  • while best solo ever may be disputed, this is definitely the best light show ever created.

  • This is probably Gilmour;s most POPULAR solo, but I Love DOGS solo the most.

  • I guess if I was to narrow it to the best Pink Floyd solo of all time, I would have to go for shine on you crazy diamond. I won't get into the best of all time. Although, David Gilmore is my favorite guitarist of all time, hands down. I just love his style. They should have called him slow hand. His solos are so simple but sooooo great.

  • i have relatives that did the light show for ths performance. they said they were so high off the music when they did this

  • YES!! I have been saying this for YEARS!!

  • yes...a very normal guitar....I have a strat...and its very normal...the pickups do what they need to do...no mods....its very clear.

  • He's so good, that he's prpbably playing a very "normal" Fender guitar. Unbelievelably good!

  • I remember watching this when I was young and being in complete awe....

It only took me once to watch this to fall in love with Pink Floyd.

    David Gilmour forever <3

  • pause at 2:47

  • I think all those dislikes were drunkin slips

  • FLAWLESS VICTORY!!!!!!!!

  • I was brought here from an on-line dictionary when I clicked "guitar".

  • @kewlarrow When did guitar become synonymous with beautiful?

    Oh wait, always.

  • @Dascalmer

    Love it, lol!

  • @kewlarrow

THAT has got to be one of the funniest and most clever posts I've ever seen on youtube! Can I hit the like button more than once?

  • @kewlarrow , you are sure it wasn't eargasm ?

  • @kewlarrow LOL, excellent. No one crafts a better solo than Gilmour. Powerful, soulful and moody. Are there faster guys? Yeah, but who cares? It's all about soul and emotion. The mans solos are fucking epic.

  • Whoever disliked this video is a fucking dumbass. They don't know good music when they hear good music. This by far is one of the greatest solos of all-time and its a kick ass song!!!!!

  • A great guitar solo moves you as much as the song it is from. With Comfortably Numb that is taken to new heights.

Truly one of the most underrated guitarists in rock.

  • HOLY SHITTTT

  • There are 81 idiots on YouTube

  • FLOYD ROCKS!!!!!...AWESOME SOLO....THUMBS UP!!!!

  • y wasnt i there

  • 4:10 Phase Prism ftw!

  • Comment removed

  • how did i know before watching this that it would be at the end of "comfortably numb"?

  • 81 dislikes from 81 Justin Beiber and Lady GAG fans!

  • A thought from one guy with no credentials........

The solo from "Hotel California" is just a hair short of this as being the best ever.

  • Sex on the guitar.

  • Madonna totally borrowed that big disco ball to pop out of in her Confessions Tour!!!

  • KICKING IT is intense.

  • Leanonitt Road will blow you away !

  • hahah look how still the crowd is... they are all blown away by the sound and visualization... i couldnt imagine being there

  • you have to check out pat Caseria with LeadFoot One, KICKING IT. Great !

  • All I know is Floyd is timeless, Gilmour is a monster guitar player, and that is the coolest chandelier I have ever seen.

  • @linkone11 Speaking of monsters, i mean besides Gossamer from Warner brothers cartoons,Pat Caseria!

  • I'm crying a little bit

  • when youre on acid this literally makes you feel like youre on top of a mountain having an orgasm.

  • Pat Caseia-WITH Leadfoot One.WHAT THE FREAK IS THAT,BLEW ME AWAY!

  • Roger Waters has 81 YouTube accounts.

  • i just got chills and came and the cum was CHILLED

  • Uhhh...I've heard this song before...

  • absolutely agree

  • i love pink floyd

  • It gets into the marrow of your bones this does.

  • Pat Caseria-Comfortably Cool.

  • doesn't get any better than Pink Floyd!!

  • The greatest guitar solo performance of all time. And if you don't agree with me I will jab you with a fork.

  • @xramcam Jab me with a fork, cause there's a handful of Gilmour solos I'd put above it. Time and High Hopes would be my number 1's.

  • @BobMillahhh - My fork is poised for jabbing.

  • @xramcam

You may put the fork down. This is amazing. Also, check out Roy Buchanan, "The Messiah Will Come Again." He was dubbed "the world's greatest unknown guitarist." Both solos are just lights out.

  • @xramcam it is the most awsome riffn jam 4shore but solo means no other instraments playing so not solo but you are still rt cause its the sh t. youre pal and gen smart ass byron y

  • @MrWashndry1

I agree whole heartedly, a solo is only one instrument playing, but you're right, it's awesome guitar, what a fab group, simply awesome!

  • @xramcam-----I like Prince solo of the the Beatles Classic "while my guitar gently weeps" with Tom Petty & others

  • The guitar is great... but the lighting! That's impressive

  • @astonmartinman yesssssssssss its the all seeing eye of Satan or the Illuminati ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

  • When I hear the tempo slow down, knowing it's soon to be over, I get really sad and play it from the beginning. I want mooooooore

  • My favorite Gilmour solos are the ones on Mother and Dogs.

  • this is my second favorite solo (1st being jimmy page on the stairway too heaven solo)

  • I can't help but feel overwhelmingly happy and content after listening to Pink Floyd... They know how to fill the emptiness in people through their Amazing music... As good as sex I tell you!

  • no best guitar player- yngwie malmsteen

  • Pat Caseria,Video Response.PRETTY INTENSE!

  • @TheMetonicMuzakCorp - Could you stop trolling please?

  • This ax will cutt through anything while David is playing!!! See u in Houston

  • dont get me wrong hes good but i wouldn't say the best but he is definitely up there there i s alot of good guitarist

  • I miss guitar solos.

  • PatCaseria-Best Guitar Player!

  • Comment removed

  • Roger,nice Strat!

  • Comment removed

  • Real nice Roger. Pat sends congrats!

  • PatCaseria-Leanonit Road is absolutely INCREDIBLE!

  • love the video, and the music, but it is not a solo,. instrumental, yes, but not a aolo

  • @jura8jdm Being that it's part of a song that's about 8 minutes long, with about 3-4 minutes of singing, I'd say it's the solo to the song. This is just a piece of a longer song. So no this isn't an instrumental.

  • division bell tour of 94 in san diego,i was there and it was the BEST ROCK CONCERT THAT I'VE SEEN IN MY LIFE !!! by the way,81 assholes are brain numbed....

  • leanonit road is incredible, pat caseria.

  • very soft and pleasing performance

  • Dragon whiskers is GREAT guitar work.

  • what is up with the guitar player in killer, video responses! a real KILLER!

  • In his prime Nobody could touch emotion like David

  • @shadowbrook1987 In his prime? Who says he's out of his prime?

  • I lost count of how many times I just listened to this..6? 7?

  • I wish I was David Gilmour and Roger Water's lovechild.

  • @rollingstones251 Dont know what you are trying to say, but hey your a rolling stones fan that figures. Skynyrd blew stones off the stage in 76 Knebworth festival if you dont believe look it up they was both there. Couldnt even understand jaggers words, crowd started chanting for Skynyrd . Thats what prompted Ronnie VanZant to wear who the f--- is the rolling stones at next concert.

  • Just...simply...stunning.

  • quit trying to figure it out just drop some acid sit back and enjoy

  • There is no formula for Floyd's brilliance,it's in their own DNA.Just sit back and FEEL the emotional dips and curves that reveal them to ourselves, a cosmic energy that integrates our subconscious mind and our conscious thoughts.

  • Personally, I like Gilmour's solos in Time, Shine on You Crazy Diamond, and Dogs more.

  • Great solo but isnt the best. I wont thumbs down though because its David, of course. Nothing he does gets a bad rating.

  • @theSicilianToe Hey,have you ever heard Gary Moore's solo Empty Rooms, he was great and worth a listen.I know everyone has their favorites and I would have to say Gary is my fav.

  • @jonnu7772000 I just checked it out. Hes great! But Knopfler is still king! :P

  • roger waters 2012 phoenix, cant mothafucking wait.

  • JAKE CINNINGER....get sUM.

  • I can't wait to see them again!! I go to sleep with Floyd, and I wake up with Floyd ;) The absolute best!!!

  • i cant wait for their tour in 2012 i love pink floyd

  • holy....shit...that was amazing!!!

  • THE.GREATEST.TOUR.EVER. the stage set up alone is totally unimaginable and nothing will ever compare

  • @one2many1030 Give all their due , Rogers current Wall show , is mindboggling , David is my Favorite but Roger is a godam genius ,,, To make a visual show like that and not be anywhere near the best musician there is epic,, Never got to see David but will go to my grave thankful for seeing Roger

  • Sorry shredder lovers. While a big Malmsteen, Blackmore, Becker and Freidman fan, only a handful of guitar players have this kind of ability to move people, impart so much emotion with their playing. 2 off the top of my head would be Gilmore and B.B. King....

  • 0:00-4:50 = my favorite part

  • WOW

  • David Gilmour dont have to jump around on stage like an idiot to get you to pay attention. ICON

  • Pulse 94 was Pink Floyd's best concert

  • Where have all the guys who play like this gone?

  • In turns of musicality, it think that it has the right to be called one of the best of all time.

  • so....much...WIN!!!!!!!

  • I still think Santana does it better...

  • Great song. Great guitar. Great band. Greatest guitar solo EVER? Hardly.

  • @wilmac291

Hardly? I'd LOVE to see your rendition of it, and see how close to Gilmour you are. It's one of, if not the best solo in all of rock music. Can't say the same for metal, jazz, country, etc. But in rock 'n' roll, top 5 at the very least.

  • 3:20 - My favorite part.

  • Gilmour is Godlike.

  • flawless

  • Gilmour's rack of sound gear is used as a separate instrument, as well, if you look at what he uses (tastefully!) to get his sound. But music is so subjective, I don't know that anyone could ever 'define' the greatest solo ever. Tony Rice, Clarence White on acoustic......Hendrix, Eddie VH on Eruption, Duane Allman or Dickie Betts....all great and inspiring with so many more to list.

  • I would have to agree that this the best solo ever on video, but with that being said I would have to disagree on best solo ever . The best solo ever is the solo on Delicate Sounds of Thunder same song but that solo is as the kids nowadays call it B.A. or BOSS

  • I never really cared for Pink Floyd untill now.

  • @JettKiss I would recommend Delicate Sounds of Thunder. If you thought this was awesome check out both albums and form your own opinion Pulse is GREAT but both album rival each other

  • Maybe...

  • I used to get high and listen to Pink Floyd, Now I just listen to Pink Floyd and it gets me high.

  • Practicing all of your life for 4 minutes of excellence

  • Hard to argue with the Title of the Video, but music tastes vary. There's some Duane Allman/Dickie Betts stuff that's there: Django Reinhart; etc. etc. Me? Hell, I've loved this band since 73.......My vote goes to; The envelope please.....Thank you........"David Gilmour: Best Frigging Guitar Solo"

  • @WyattD18 good looking out for other greats but you left out Eddie Van Halen too. I would still have to go with you gold envelope pick as well. David Gilmore not only has awesome style and skill but you can feel the essence of his soul in his solos and that separates him from the rest

  • ecstasy ecstasy ecstasy ecstasy ecstasy (THUMBS UP)

  • DG brings it ... ON A STRAT!!!

  • Roger Waters made 78 fake accounts!

  • @steviep1871 i gotta admit i pissed myself when i saw your comment

  • PF was really good back in the day...I was in high school in Tennessee in 1972-1976, so I heard far more Lynerd Skynrd that I wanted; they sucked ass.

  • I now want to learn how to play the guitar

  • @kingme8611 Ha Ha..me too..I just bought an electric guitar and amp off Ebay, now I`m going to watch countless videos and sit and practice, practice, practice. Also bought a dvd step by step on learning how.

  • @bvick777 Give a listen to Moon Walker on video responses and related music. Post any questions on the subject for us to forward to the guitarist. Powerful instrument. Once you get going, hold on to the reins!

  • @bvick777 be warned the learn pink floyd videos out there are a little bit harder than what most expect

  • imho the CN solo live in Venice 1989 is the best.

  • 78 dislikes nice try beiber

  • There is a god and its David Gilmour

  • rollingstones251 ............gimmie a break. Skynard is nothing but a bunch of southern hicks trying to play music. You would not know what good music was if it came up behind you and bit you on your fat southern ass!

  • @jaytduce fuck you dick i would punch you squre in the face if i could

  • yes, clearly awesome!
