New Orleans has such a strange vibe. On the one hand the Bourbon Street area has kind of a progressive feel to it but if you read any of the assassination literature you know that there were plenty of far right wingers in NO also. A friend of mine was mugged there and he said that when he went to report it to the police they couldn't have cared less.
