@smurfboywv It definitely is a sin, I don't understand why people wish to "Christianize" sodomy. Christians all through out history opposed it, so did the Jewish people in the Old Testament. Besides the many Scriptures that clearly condemn it in both Old and New Testament; all Scriptures that promote the family unit and to be fruitful and multiply are an indirect condemnation to it. One's desires do not justify giving in to them, but rather do what God commands.
@seanpaynedotnet Its only a sin because the churches want it to be, Its never mentioned by God or Jesus. Ignorant people always believe what the church has preached to them.
@smurfboywv What are you talking about? There are many Scriptures(The Bible, aka God's Word) condemning it. What has most likely happened is you are interpreting the Scriptures that condemn sodomy through the lens of this heathen culture that accepts it, rather than through an unbiased lens.
@seanpaynedotnet The 7 scriptures thats in the bible do not speak of gays, ithey speak of temple prostitution, forced rape, and worshiping of other gods and idolatry. Obviously you can't read.
You are a very educated person. I definitely respect the research you do. This is not only because I agree with many of the viewpoints you express (which I do :D) but also because you are calm with your words and leave room for interpretation. More people need to be willing to have mature conversations (even wen their opinions differ) if they expect to come to any sort of agreement. Job well done. ( :
You are so right!!! You study to show yourself approved!!!! More people need to do this. Thank you so much for this!!! Keep up your videos and keep preaching the word of truth!!!!
Thank you! Can you explain the differences between anshei, enoshim, and ish? (Not a trick question). I know anshei is used in Gen 6, and can mean 'incurable' or 'evil'. I don't think it's the singular of enoshim b/c that is enosh. Great series- keep up the terrific work. Blessings 2u both.
Just wondering, why do newer translations of the Bible still continue these myths? I have a New King James Version of the Bible. It's translation dates from around 1980. Surely at that time they knew of the translation error?
They do know this, but because debate still rages on about what the story is trying to get across, the words remain the same. It's relying on tradition... which is Matthew 15:3 warns about. There should not be the authority to read context into verses, such as the word homosexual for that word did not exist until much later.
Rules against sodomy in Leviticus 18 and 20 are not legislating for ordinary human affairs. Throughout, the authors of Leviticus are chiefly concerned with temple ritual. ritual bestiality, child sacrifice, and the cultic use of menstrual blood in sorcery. The verses against sodomy (Leviticus 18:22; 20:13) forbid temple prostitution: which defiles the land, that concerns Leviticus.
Everybody reads the Bible selectively. If people followed every single biblical ruling to the letter, the world would be full of Christians who love their enemies and refuse to judge other people, which is plainly not the case. Christians would also be obliged to eat kosher meat (Acts 15:20) and stone their disobedient sons to death (Deuteronomy 21:18-21). The world has changed practices that were acceptable 2k years ago have become abhorrent.
I'm glad that people who aren't Christian can stand to listen to me! I hope that when someone tries to pull these verses on you, you can say... well I'm not a Christian, but I know your Bible better than you do.
Your videos are really interesting. Based on this the majority of christians have a big portion of the bible wrong. There are countless scriptures that could mean one thing 4 thousand years ago and something totally different now. I was just wondering are you christian or just someone disproving notions that most people get from the bible?
I really like your studies and video. I found it to be very informative, Thank-you.

I'd say its better to just leave the bible alone. If i had enough time, i bet i could interpret several statements to mean heterosexuality is a sin

Read Romans Chapter 1.
Jesus can free you from your sin, repent!

@seanpaynedotnet Being gay is not a sin, as 2 people loving each other is not sinful.

Now that I review my comment I think understanding would be a better choice of words than agreement.
