Duke Jordan's tasty and sophisticated piano lends elegance to this Jug date. Jordan's style has always elevated the tone of the recordings he has participated
in since the mid forties. The sessions that really stand out were the Charlie Parker
Quintet records for the Dial label. His refined touch and voicings were on the level
of Hank Jones from the same period, and also were echoed later on in the style of Tommy Flanagan. Great bebop blues!
Anyone who dislikes this has no heart

"It's a hazy day in L.A. Slow traffic to the right on the freeway of life......."
Tommy Strode used this as his sign on theme for his radio show on KBCA 105.1FM in LA back in the day.

@customkey Couldn't possibly know this, but admittedly this is one great tune to use as the sign of a radio show!
