4) Furthermore, because of the intrinsic geological condition of Japan, not to let appearances fool you, another earthquake-tsunami is imminent, not a question of “if” it happens but “when”. Keep this in mind.
3) Choose another tour destination because the radiation level is still high around Japan and the Japanese government is not forthright about the severity of the nuclear accident. If you must go for business or work, don’t forget to bring your daily dose of iodine pills, and drink bottled water only because tap water is contaminated by radiation; good luck.
2) Don’t marry a Japanese person; if you do, try not to have any children because they are carrying a radiation mutated gene, resulting from the two well deserved American A-bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki to force a quick surrender of Japan ending WWII, and the recent earthquake-tsunami triggered nuclear accident at Fukushima.
1) Don’t buy Japan’s cancer causing radiation polluted products, especially food. The Japanese government lied about the safety of their exported food products.
What about a Zainichi (Korean-Japanese) group in the right wing? Why doesn't this video make distinction between conservatives and the fake right wing who tries to break down the image of Japanese nationalism?
These Japanese ultra-nationalist are very unpatriotic because they are once again - if they have their way - bringing Japan into a collision course with its neighbors. Japan as country has no strategic depth because they can be cut off from vital resources so easily and they have no interior like the Chinese. These nationalists have the same fantasies as their forebearers. They forget that they could not defeat China when China was at its weakest and Japan was at its strongest.
Ah yes old Japanese remember that, but lack memory of what happened during WWII? Very odd, for me that is biased and fits in the picture mehdan2 is showing.
Wow how much did the Japanese government pay you to put up this propagandas you do?
I know that the Japanese government do pay the media and the well educated people to put up propagandas in places like this to cover up their evilness..
How could you say that im a Korean? Im not! My Mom is a Filipina and my Father is a Japanese. You are the liar KAZUCHANW!
People like in that video are a disgrace! They are as bad as skin heads or people from the NPD party in Germany absolute trash. These are the people that make sure that normal people still get abuse from others as they keep warming up old resentments over and over again.
Very complex issues--I try to never say bad things about the Japanese people, of course, but, in Germany, for example, denying the holocaust is a crime, while in Japan Nanking massacre denialists are in government? WHO VOTED FOR THEM? Come on, people of Japan, do you want to be with the world or against the world? UYOKU DANTAI is the SAME AS NAZIS. PERIOD! Even in the US, where some dumb people elected dumb George Bush, we still would not tolerate a NAZI in public office, yet they do in Japan?
And in Germany, you will be arrested if you praise or endorse Nazism. However, Uyoku Dantai is protected under "freedom of speech" in Japan. What a shame.
Indeed, you would have thought this ultra-fascist ideology would have died off with the World War 2 generation, but a lot of uyoku dantai are younger, born well after World War 2. THAT is the troubling part. I lived in Japan for 2 years, and in Toride, Ibaraki, the black vans were all over, and the Japanese people I knew said they hated it, said it was bad, but they weren't doing anything to stop it either. They should be throwing rocks at those black vans!
@mehdan2 Sad, but true. There are plenty of good Japanese people that need to awaken and kick out uyoku dantai. Until that happens, they will allow the uyoku dantai to lead them, which is sad. COME ON GOOD JAPANESE PEOPLE RISE UP KICK THAT BLACK VAN OUT OF TOWN! THROW ROCKS!
Yes, I agree. But the video focuses more on Japan's conservative and nationalist groups, including the right wing elements of mainstream government and media.
Bataan Death March 21,000 people died most were Filipeno's. Thousands more died in the camps they were forced to live in. Most died because of disease, lack f food/water, and Japanese brutality
Yes, I know about the brutality at the Prison Camps, and the brutality during the building of the Siam to Burma railroad, and the treatment of POWs during the sailing to Japan when the IJA was losing the war. I believe it was only 11,000 people that died during the Death March and more during the prison camps.
Even though the Conservatives like to deny the War crimes that happened in history about Nanjing, Shanghai, comfort women and etc. But, I do believe it's still a mistake with the number of victims from those crimes. That would be like me making up lies about the number of victims from The Bataan Death March, the O'Donnell camp after the march and Pearl Harbor. So why does China make up such a large number of victims? That is only helping America deny it's war crimes.
I was refering the estimate number of 300,000 victims for the Nanjing Massacre. The total number of victims for the Bataan death and Camp O'Donald is 600 American soldiers and 1000 Filipino soldiers that died. Yes, it does revive these debates between Japan, China and Korea.
I know that, it has nothing to do with Nanking, even though they are both war crimes. But, I was just making a point with Bataan. How is 300,000 thousand a reasonable number? I'm alittle confused with the account of Conservatives estimating 200,000 Chinese in Nanjing and Chinese estimating 300,000 victims.
300,000 is a comparible number because in Nanjing they targeted helpless civilians. Bataan Death Martch was targetted against limited numbers of troops. Fact only 76,000 troops were defending the Penninsula. Fact there were 1.2 million people living in Nanjing. Which one is going to have more deaths? And FYI more than 10,000 people died in the death martch i do hope you know that right?
Did you really just say that it was only 1000 filipeno's and 600 US troops? Are you even Filipeno? The total number of the march was 75000 troops. Did you even get a Filipeno education or even one at all? The number of people defending the Bataan Peninsula was 76000 they lost 1000 defending the penninsula and surrendered. All of them were soon forced into a Death March. During that time only 54000 people actually made it to the camp dying of both Japanese brutality and disease.
Boy, the Baatan Death March was real my lolo lived through it. And China although the numbers seem high is only because they count both the soldiers and the people who died in the bombings not just the people who died because of Japanese brutality. Thats why it's called the Rape of Nanjing.
Yep, Bataan Death March was real, I made a mistake on the numbers. It was 1,000 Americans and 10,000 Filipinos that died. Tsuji Masanobu was there and he was one of the terrible IJA colonials. Oh, I see thanks for explaining.
O yea and you do know that at the time about 1.2 million people lived in Nanjing right? So it's quite possible to subtract 300,000 people from the population. Especially if the Japs were using machine guns, bombs, explosives, and other weapons against defensless citizens it's quite possible to kill that many people. Especially with the # of Japanese troops who invaded the city.
well, well, well. i guess japan is commiting crime to asian. since they has commited Nanjing - genocide in china. they also commited same crime to korean and other asian countires. so we call them as 犯罪民族. but they don`t know about that history especially about early 20C. cuz, japanese racist gorverment is covering up this history. so they don`t know why chineses and koreans hate them. due to their ignorance they are started hate chinese and korean. finally they turn to racist.
"Oh? Enlighten us please."? Okay, setting that satirical comment aside, I had seen many of your videos and I found all of them to be fascinating and educational. As I am trying to earn a master's in Asian studies (emphasis on history), I tried to present many thesis to my professors and colleagues about Imperial Japan but all was marked with failing. Being pissed off, I inquired as to why and my prof simply stated that "although well informed, all my sources were from Mainland Asia."
IOW, my paper was bias. I realized then that whenever trying to found out about the past, the greatest weakness to history is being bias. I wrote and presented what were supposed to be informative and educational and it turned into almost a way of projecting my "grudge and revenge". I try to warn fellow historian lovers such as yourself to also get rid of that grudge whenever presenting any events of the past. Cause it is not us who get hurt, it is the future learners.
Mind you there is some excessive pro-China stuff in there. There's nothing wrong with supporting Taiwanese independence. Taiwanese people should have the right to decide whether they want to be a part of China or not.
That may well be their motivation. That said, there's nothing wrong with supporting Taiwanese independence. I personally support Taiwanese independence as long as that's what the Taiwanese people want.
Fair comment. I can accept that. As much as I am sick of people like Ishihara, some Chinese can be equally as bad, particularly in their views towards Taiwan, and ethnic minorities within mainland China. Clearly your views are more balanced and it was wrong of me to group you with such people

Bataan has nothing to do with Nanking.
Japanese treatment of Chinese is comparable to German treatment of Russians and Eastern Europeans.
>300,000
That is a reasonable number. Most Japanese historians accept 200,000.

Most Japanese historians accept war crimes were committed in Nanking and a toll of 200,000 is reasonable to them.
