That might be easier, but it might pounch out the lens with much force, and it might get lost. In the long term, it will cause trauma to the upper lid and eyelid ptosis.
Usually the phrase 'hard contact lenses' refer to older rigid PMMA ones, which didn't allow oxygen to pass. These lenses are now used in trial sets. RGP lenses for patients and customers are made from materials that are permeable to oxygen.
I guess that the 'Semi' lens you're talking about is a hybrid lens, one that has a RGP center and a soft hydrogel periphery.
Yes, you are right i just read info of my contact lenses and found its Hybrid lenses but i hv no idea between RGPor GP and Hybrid, which one is better?
and you you mean way to put Hybrid lenses in my eyes and take off from eyes are Same as we put and take RGP (GP) lenses right? hmm you know special list didnt tell me anything about this...so bad, anyway thanks for your answer that helps me a lot x
RGPs are not inserted and removed like soft ones. Check my videos on the matter to get an idea of the technique. RGPs and hybrids are better removed by supporting the lens with the lower lid and pushing the lens away with upper lid (or the other way around).
oh..i just got the Hybrid lenses but i think i may go to make new lenses (RGP)cos i m not happy with this Hybid lenses and i will gonna change new person to consult..thanks x
This sounds better. Preferably look straight ahead when you pull out the outer canthus (corner) of your eye. What should happen is that the lens will be squeezed out, as it will be pressed by the lids as they close together. Try both methods and find which suits you more.
My eye doctor told me to remove my RGP's is to lift my eyebrow and look towards my nose and blink. I haven't tried it yet, because I've used a little suction tool.
Does this technique in this video work better then the technique my eye doctor told me?
This doesn't sound too nice, as the upper lid will fall heavily on the lens and punch it out. I prefer to use the lids as a tool to remove the lens, instead of using a sudden force like the way you described.
I just got my hard contact lenses and they are pain the ass to insert and remove. I am getting frustrated. SOmeone please help

@sportnfrk , if it's so much trouble to insert and remove them by hand, use a plunger as a start.

omg that looked awesome

I do the way Jacob said, use to use an eye plunger but that took time when it wouldn't suction correctly.

This is hard. Here is an easier way.
1. open your eye wide
2. Pull the corner of your eye towards your ear.
3.Blink
4. Your Done!

If the hybrid lens is pretty big (13-15 mm), you can also try removing it just by grabbing it with your fingers.
tevpar 3 years ago
many thanks for the info....and how many DK on RGP...you think the best for all people who wanna wear RGP?, thanks x
wiwbib 3 years ago
Well, anything above 50 Dk is sufficient, and higher than most hydrogels. Of course, in this case, the bigger the better.

Why you're not content? What's the problem?
tevpar 3 years ago
Wow, it looks like magic! Congrats! I'm going to do some tests for using RGPs lens tomorrow, I hope the doctor make it this way!

Oops, my bad. I meant to say my doctor told me to pull on the corner of my eye, and look at my nose sort of, and blink.

Only decia that meets simple.

That's not very possible with a hard RGP lens...what you said works with soft hydrogel lenses, but with RGPs you need other tricks...
tevpar 4 years ago
er no thats not how u do it dip shit u just got pull 2 eyes open n just grab it with ur both hands loser!
mosharhys 4 years ago
You see, RGPs cannot be squeezed and punched out from the eyes with your fingers. They should be removed by using the lids or with a special tool.
