Probably won't use it until somebody found a way to remove the item from the pressure plate. After that, I chances are very likely I am going to use this(depending on how reliable this is)
@KainLance215 At 0:24 you can clearly see how much delayers you need to get the same delay as an 8 long water delayer. Water delayers are also a lot cheaper. Check out my other video for a more in-depth guide and some handy uses.
@charnia Yes, I can see how much cheaper that it is using water. But I'm talking about that kind of mechanism using the dispenser. Ok, it shoots things out, but how is it possible to make profit out of that?
@Scania9k they time out after five minutes if I now what youre talking about (you mean the ones sitting on the pressure plates I hope/assume) so yes you would have to collect them once used which is the only downside of this very intelligent thing. It really depends on what you are using it for xD
Theoretically, you could make it so when it hits the last pressure plate, it sends a signal for the first dispenser to release another block and start it all over... or something ot that effect.
Great minds think alike: one of our players came up with the same thing, and others have found it too - there's a video from April 25 that shows it. Nice testing! One trick: you can have the water flow farther than 8, just have it start up higher and flow down a level - the blocks don't get stuck.
@gremlinred Dispensers are mainly used in multiplayer when building a castle to shoot intruders. Alternatively they can also be used in adventure maps to shoot the player with arrows, snowballs, and eggs. (although eggs deal no damage.) I suppose aside from that you could use it to build an automatic monster destroyer, but it's easier to do that with a water/lava trap or drowning trap.
@CloudandZack1st I use mods. You can use the build-in fly mode from MyCraft. Try to google it, because for some reason an error pops up when i try to post the link.
@charnia So you know (it too me *forever* to figure this out), you can't put URLs in comments. Thanks, YouTube. But, you can put them in your original description.
Heh, lucky I scanned the suggestions column before using the other method. Put this to use instantly on my SMP server. Thanks :D helped out a lot, and I combined it with that unlimited momentum trick to get myself a really quick way in and out of my mine.

Does it still require a "manual reset" if you are using it intermittently enough that the blocks time out between uses? (Blocks do time out, right?)

@extralargetuna I used Tyken's test world. It's just a flat area where you can experiment as much as you want.

very nice.. However i have no idea what a dispenser is used for.. It doesn't really have a use does it...
gremlinred 8 months ago
@gremlinred put arrows, eggs, or snowballs in it and it can work as a trap...
