  • Dude that Mohawk is fucking awesome, at first I thought it wasn't Eddie.

  • I wouldnt have stopped there. I would have kept going.

  • i envy him, how many times have i wanted to do that?

  • "awesome" ??! so what now, we have a broken TV .. on a music background .. :/

that's not awesome, not great, not good, not even .. funny . STUPID .

  • hahaha awesome, this was when we were getting geared up for our ''liberation'' of iraq, shame on us and our dirty little hearts

  • I love nothing as it seems, but it is turned up to loud, and I can barely make out what Eddie is saying. Still a thumbs up.

  • Let's see him to that to an $8,000 Plasma.

  • WHAT THE HELL IS THIS HAIRCUT?

  • Attention all Youtube whiners and fucking complainers!!!!!!!!

You don't like what you see? Go and make something that you do!

We are all sick of you pussies sitting on the fence in judgment of everyone!

  • eddie didn't need a sledge hammer he could have just looked at it to produce the same effect

  • It's an amazing song but jeez you can't even here Eddie talking...

  • this video has way to much content to it, it should be a 3 second video of him just smashing the tv and that should be it. It would get so many likes

  • how dare he smash a tv! how will i watch master chef now! oh no!

  • @perthpraxis what time is american gladiators on hunnay?

  • 9 iron would have been sufficient...

  • Comment removed

  • To all the cocknobs and n-butz lovin chavs that take offence to Eddie smashing a tv....fuck off! this man has done more for the music industry, charities and the community at large than most fuckin countries have, so if wants to smash. let him, after all he is GOD!

  • hardcore...

  • LOL

  • he looks like a douchebag...

  • @socalkevinz why?

  • @miamad explain to us why the worlds greatest rock ambassador is a tool please... And since we're on the topic, could you please tell us all whom you consider to be a worth while individual in his postion

  • @Galby82 I don't idolize douche rock singers like you. You're a douche too.

  • @miamad and I guess since you live on a fuck all island that most of the world hasn't even heard of or for that matter gives two shits about you must love to fuck sheep.

  • @Galby82 You're making fun of my country and you're from CANADA? Now that is funny.... DOUCHE.

  • @miamad Of course I'm making fun of where your from. I'm actually surprised you even know who Pearl Jam or Eddie Vedder are since I assumed you'd more then likely be about 25 years behind the current trends. So tell me do you find it easier to shear your sheep before you defile them? Or do you like the feeling of their ratty coat as you get behind them??

  • See that vapor at 2:05? That's really fucking toxic...

  • He smashed the tv for a good reason. They could have easily continued to be famous if they wanted to, but they didn't want that. They just wanted people to listen to their music, and always went against bands who were just posers.

  • I thought 'A TV' was a channel and Eddie was gonna say it sucks coz its commercializes or some shit!

  • "Nothing as it Seems", off the Binaural album

  • When did Ed cut his hair?

  • @synthrock1 About 5 years ago. This is old footage.

  • Around 2002/2003 I think

  • nothing as it seems by pearl jam "Binaural"? wtf?

  • "Nothing as it seems" from Binaural.

  • what's the name of the song???

  • wow.. what year was this?..never imagined eddie getting a mohawk....he rocks

  • i thought it said he was smashing an ATV

  • Haha, lol

  • I thought there first and second cd rocked. The 3rd had a coulpe of good songs. But after that, I havent herd anything that has caught my ear.

  • Ooooh How rock'n roll (!)

  • wtf was the point of this video?

  • it has no point.

  • psh...but the TV is what made his band famous

  • I don't think they WANTED to be famous, they just seemed to want people to listen to and like their music. after the one unplugged session the band boycotted mtv.

  • Nirvana and Pearl Jam are fucking badass anybody who thinks that either of them suck can go die

  • This maybe out dated but the last time I looked it up, Nirvana has sold 20 million albums world wide and Pearl Jam has sold 60 million albums world wide. Pearl Jam has, without question, experianced more success then Nirvana

  • They've also been around about 15 years longer and have released at least 5 more albums than Nirvana, so of course they would experience more success. However, Nirvana's most popular album, Nevermind, has sold millions more worldwide than Pearl Jam's biggest album, Ten.

  • WRONG! Ten has been certified thirteen times platinum by the RIAA, Nevermind 10 times platinum.

  • Nevermind has sold 26 million WORLDWIDE. Ten I believe is around 20 million.

  • well, thats because Kurt Cobain died. If Kurt was still around today who knows where Nirvana would be now. Same for Jimi Hendrix

  • I dont know if i agree with that, the band was having disagreements around the time of his death, and since they were such big icons, the pressure wouldve driven them apart before too long anyways, the key to pearl jams longevity is that they destroyed their own fame and got out of the spotlight before it made them greedy and selfish

  • When He start making good music again id say . but not no more. so you fags can just stf. TEN is over 12 years old and its over and done non of you guys listen to it anymore , but i listen to all nirvana and Alice in chains albums still. what a moron stupid move to get publicity , smashing a fucking TV in public, horaaa, what a Hero, big fucking deal.

  • W.T.F? "when he start making good music again id say" THEY havnt stopped, and ten is still a fucking masterpiece. well blowing you brains out would get alot more publicity for sure.

  • Man! If I ever were to see Eddie Vedder walking the streets in that hairstyle, I would never realize it is him.

  • He got a hair cut like this to draw attention since his music doesnt........... anymore

  • idiot comment..his hair was like this 12 years ago, when they were in their top..

  • shut up dtupid do you have a crush on him thats why?

  • no,i'm just not that jealous of their success,as you are;)

  • your right, his music doesnt get attention anymore.

a sold out tour a few months ago, a highly anticipated new album, and an invite to conan's first tonight show.

theyve really hit a new low

  • hahahaah awesome post!!! PJ still freaking rules better the AIC and Nirvana put together

  • moron alert!!!

  • with a name like yours.....enough said your the king of morons.

  • hmmm.... so rock n' roll. lame

  • You are a man!

  • lol my dad had a drink with eddie in chicago like years ago.......i LOLD when i heard it

  • god, i love this man

  • that jacket pwns I want one, anyone know what brand it is?

  • Typical yank.

  • its him.look eddie at hall of fame when introduce THE RAMONES

  • no way, that can't be eddie, he would never get a mohawk! He sounds like him though :S. EDIE IF YOU EVER READ THIS: GROW YOUR HAIR BACK!! You were better when you looked blue coller! Besides, you are my rolemodel, and there is no way im getting a mohawk D:

  • i don't get it, because he's your role model you should look like him?

"model role model roll some models in blood... get some flesh to stick so they look like us..." - Ed

  • nonono i just liked his hair better longer lol! And i guess what his hair is like MIGHT influence what i make my hair look like in the future... Then again, everything subconciously does that to us! Anyway, grow ur hair back XD

  • He did it as a tribute to Joey Ramone when he died.

  • He had the mohawk like 6 years ago.

  • xD he didnt have it 6 years ago. He came to pittsburgh once and he didnt have a mohawk there. That was 1 year ago.

  • I didn't say he kept it... it grew out by the time you saw him.

  • his hair is long, i saw them this past summer at the dodge music center in CT and he had long hair

  • Ohhhhh rly? YAY! xD great to know! So next time i see him, he'll have long hair? LIKE HE SHOULD MUHAHAHAHHAHA *mind control* xDD yeah.... erm... ill just stop typing now...

  • Are you a wownerd like me? lol

  • what the hell?

  • waste of a tv.....you could make an awesome movie prop out of that... (the things in the Frankenstein films where theres two antennas and bolt of electricity ark from each one)

    yeah.... D:

  • Hi colleen! :P

  • This video is great! I like how he leaves the sledge hanging out the front. Nice artistic touch, of course thats Eddie! and the mohawk, awesome.... lol

  • I understand metaphorically "killing a tv" but I have a feeling Mr. Environment didn't clean up the mess himself. What a waste of time.

  • Hm... why'd he do that? Who cares? This is the best thing I've seen in 7 hours.

  • Sony's are great TV's. My parents have two of them one that is about 15 years old and another that is barely a year old and I have a brand new Sony 5.1 surround system with HDMI DVD player and PS3. Sony products are made with care if you do buy a their high end products. This isn't spam either i just enjoy their products.

  • dude...... i dont care what kind of tv you've got :P

i am very happy for you :D xD

  • Who said i was talking to you? No one. Just watch the video and enjoy.I was just advertising for SONY, that is all. Free speech alright!

  • ¬_¬

  • the world needs more leaders like Eddie.

  • you mean leaders who once wore a helmet everwhere they went because they were afraid their head was going to be crushed from all the pressure of fame? yeah... he has my vote.

  • AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!! Gotta love Vedder <3.

  • how is he a leader guguiman? the world needs more musicians like Eddie.

  • now whats he doing?

  • actually this is not a mohawk...

    this is called iroquese...

mohawk would be even less hair

  • vedder is awesome and has a true heart stop hating im sick of people like that

  • I smashed a 35 inch JVC with a pitching wedge.

  • eddie wth i lyk the mohawk but i miss ur old hair!!!!!!

  • eddie wth i lyk the mohawk but i miss ur old hair!!!!!!

  • please someone tell me what´s the name of the song playing in the background?

    thanks!

  • the song is "nothing as it seems"

  • it is called "Nothing As It Seems" take care man nice taste in music

    "Grunge Is Dead"

    Progenies Of The Great Apocalypse

  • I can't agree more with what was SAID, but what activist Eddie meant to say was "I am making room for a bigger, newer television..."

  • Oh and by the way as I make my way towards exit stage left? The infuences that networks try to shove down our throats does not just involve the news. They imbed it in the programs you watch.

  • We are being preyed upon!!

  • For those of you that don't get it? I am sorry!! For those of you that do? Boycott all major networks!! Stop the madness and control!!

  • Money money money!!Screw "the little people".

  • As long as their political alliances are in place that is all they care about.FUCK US!!

  • At least the internet is interactive and you can expect that at least you can stand up and try to be heard.Television networks could care fooking less.

  • Television is a monstrosity that has rotten written all over it.Thank the Mega Moguls that have direct ties to political affiliates. Why do I do the internet?

  • Most times it is like "No and I don't care too".That is television. And if they don't get you with the News Reports they will get you with news report updates during commercials between programs.

  • Wow.

This is really an amazing video.

The way the TV explodes - WOW!

    Very interesting!

And the music in the background is fantastic.

I haven't seen such a godlike video in my whole life.

    Give it an Oscar.

  • I have'nt watched television in almost seven months.And ya' know what?I don't miss it a bit.

  • ha. That's cuz you're on YouTube! but seriously, cut internet and TV and then you have an admirable comment. Of course without internet you can't comment. Send me a letter...

  • Major television networks are nothing but tools to try and control the masses. The internet is very different..to a degree.I constantly have people asking me..have you heard about this murder or mayhem?

  • The song is Nothing as it Seems

  • It seems to be very bad.

  • It might seem to be but it's not. It's awesome. :)

  • you're a bad example to the world

  • i am ashamed at myself for not knowing this since i own every pearl jam cd but,

what song is it in the background?

  • nothing as it seems from binaural

  • i like the long hair better then this mohawk

  • eddie deserves a lot of respect for his integrity in terms of speaking his mind about politics, war, etc. over the years...

but he should also be protesting the cannibalization of art and culture by piece of shits like iTunes and Youtube. Protest the internet, which is way outta control. it ain't democratizing society, it will be used to do the very opposite.

  • lol do you use this site often?

  • Way to go Eddie! If you like seeing TVs and all sorts of electronics get smashed like in this Eddie Vedder vid, only to a way bigger extreme, search:

    ............

    Mindless Destruction 2(Part 2)Montage

    ............

YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED IF YOU

    ARE A DESTRUCTION FAN!

thanks, and once again, good work mangling that TV Mr. Vedder^^^^

    :)

  • it is youtube and itunes that will save us from our hell. People can get media with out having all the other nonsense shoved down their throat

  • nope they get media from sources who can say anything and make anything up they want with no accountability..a perfect example would be the Loose Change Movie..nothing but lies and very little based on facts!

  • thats when the individual has to take responsibility for discerning facts from bullshit. free open media is one of the most important facets of a true democracy."real news" or privately funded media corporations are full of shit too.

  • thats when the individual has to take responsibility for discerning facts from bullshit. free open media is one of the most important facets of a true democracy.

  • I did not write this but its a good explanation of why people believe crap like Loose Change- The hoax or conspiracy believers create a delusional fantasy in which they are the heroes. Their ability to decipher the subtle clues and uncover the hoax is seen as a demonstration of their intellectual superiority. To the hoax believers the more complex and convoluted the theory, the smarter they feel for having figured it all out. To the rest of us the theory just doesn't make any sense.

  • exactly. ithink if media wasmore accessible and community supportedthough people would feel more directly involved and assume responsibility for what they know, learn, and repeat.

  • then hype like loose change would seem less radical and a bit useless.hopefully YouTube will better faciklitate that. as it stands people will watch almost anything just because its free.

  • Actually, Loose Change, with all it's flaws, was perhaps the most pivotal point in the 911 Truth Movement. Yes it were just young college kids that made it, but there are physicists, chemists, construction and demolition experts confirming that the collapses (esp building 7) were a controlled demolition. There's an excellent technical documentary on google video called Mysteries of 911. Very technical and indepth. No grand conspiracy theories. Straight physics-chemistry.

  • The entire movie is a flaw and a lie. I can watch Loose change and pic out a lie about every 2 minutes..so they are either liars or just very ignorant. There are nuts in every profession...Doctors,lawyers,Chemist,Physicist etc. there were no demolitions..the entire theory makes no sense whatsoever and all the evidence, video, images etc point to failure from fire and damage from the tower collapse. There were no squibs, explosives etc.

  • Um, perhaps you should actually atleast try looking at atleast a little bit of the "evidence" before making grand all-encompassing conclusions. "The entire theory"? What entire theory? "All the evidence,video,images,etc"... All? How much have you seen? Do some research. "Picking out a lie" out of a youtube student movie does not constitute investigative research of structural physics and chemistry.

  • Loose Change was not a youtube student movie. The movie is based on lies. Why would you change your story and make a movie that was supposed to be based on facts 4 times?..Hows this..money!..not based on facts but lies, cherry picked interviews, video, images, such as the hermetically sealed elevators, when the truth is they were not! The description of the construction of the elevators can be found at Otis Elevator, the manufacturer that built and installed them..they were not hermetically sealed!

  • (sigh)... you've hardly read my comment it seems. I'm not even talking about Loose Change, merely mentioning it on the side line. Change the record dear.

  • Why dont you just say that you believe in baseless conspiracy theories... be it 911,JFK,UFO's,Moon Landing Hoax, etc. even though there are no facts or scientific evidence to back any of them them.Just myths, lies, urban legend, propaganda by people selling DVD's,Books etc.

  • Hahahaha, oh boy, this could turn into "one of those" youtube exchanges i can see. Well, shall we proceed then: 1st of all, you don't know what i believe in because you've never met me and know absolutely NOTHING AT ALL about me (however your assumptions and prejudice tell you otherwise). 2nd, perhaps you just don't know of ANY evidence or science on this matter? Considering how sweepingly you GENERALIZE, that seems to be the case.

  • but it is sad thatsome people, particularly people my age, will believe propaganda just cuz its the opposite of what righty's saying.

  • Righty...lol. The problem is a lot of young people are easily misguided and do not take the time out, or sad as it may be just do not have the wisdom or mental ability to discern fact from truth...that is why all media needs to be held accountable not controlled but accountable. Its like a contractor ripping off an old lady just because he can .. the old lady doesnt know any better so she gets taken!

  • Us "younger people" are those that ruled the world until recently.

  • akcramblet-"Us "younger people" are those that ruled the world until recently". What? I think you may have just proved my point!

  • why the hell do they stand there for ages talking about it....

its just some old crappy tv

  • what song is that?

  • The song in this video is "Nothing as it Seems".

  • FellmanBaines.... U'r being a bit of a hipocrit (sp?)... What the hell are you doing on the internet if you hate it so much? and more so, YOUTUBE! For the rest of us who don't have Eddie on our back step... WOOOOO HOOOOO!!! Go EDDIE!

  • guys...who gives a shit? Just enjoy the music.

  • Eddie, YOU SHOULD BE SMASHING A SLEDGEHAMMER THROUGH A LAPTOP. Our laptop culture is destroying any culture left here in america. In lieu of being a democratizing force, the internet is actually REINFORCING A WIDENING ECONOMIC GAP BETWEEN the rich and poor, and creating a culture of indolence and narcissism in our youth. You took on ticketmaster, NOT TAKE ON THE INTERNET. youtube should die.

  • so wtf are u doing here????

  • for what its worth ive been pretty low working class my whole life but access to the internet in libraries and now at homehas made research and a focused deliberate lincoln style

  • self education more feasible for me and ive learned more in the four years since igraduated from highschool than whatever. i obviously dont know how to use it though putting up half a setence. gosh

  • Your whole life..lol its says you are 22..just keep it up.. usually as you get older you obtain more knowledge and have a tendency to use that knowledge to get better jobs that pay a higher wage.

  • Smashing a CRT is evil, and I think it is, in fact, illegal, because of lead.

  • fuck you kid, you're a dick!

  • I'm 37. You are the dick.

  • "The Cult of the Amateur. How today's internet is KILLING our Culture." by Andrew Keen. Indispensable reading for anyone who CARES about ART and MUSIC.

die youtube, die google, die myspace, die internet.

  • i agree with you halfway. yes, this video and most ALL videos on youtube are pure trash and a waste of time. most individuals need to find a better way to relax instead of looking up videos with violent and sexual tendenices. this is no need for this video to exist. i hate myspace and facebook too. blame this on the libreals. i don't agree with you when you say the internet. the internet can be a wonderful and helpful place.

  • you've totally misinterpreted my comment. I actually empathize with Vedder is his distrust of mass media. I bereave how art and self-expression are being undermined today by a technology like the Web. Youtube, myspace, google, and wikipedia are all a threat to something i've always cherished- the role of art and culture in our lives. Who really knows if this is for better or worse. All that is certain is things of inestimable value are being slowly killed off.
