  • a wy co tu:D tu sie po polsku pisze:D

  • the attackers are purposely jumping and getting thrown, they aren't even trying properly to attack.

  • @Secktion Not a real fight, mister. It is a demonstration. Would you risk an injury during a demo? That might happen, if they were to really fight during the show.

  • intouchable

  • Tutaj Polacy, przejmujemy ten film !

  • You know, had I seen this video years before I would have automatically assumed it was fake and wouldn't work in real life. However, since studying Kendo under a sensei who also has a black belt in Aikido I can attest that it DOES look that easy, but in reality that is a very good showing by Mr. Seagal.

  • I Loved

  • this looks like a old movie fight scene. people just fallin for no apparent reason!! fuk steven segal!!!

  • Comment removed

  • This would NOT work in a real situation.

  • @iGreekSalad of course it does

  • @Matzegurke You've got to be kidding.

  • his moves are very swift

  • Taller and heavier than all opponents.

    /watch?v=h_vvI26NnwE#t=1m38s

  • Expedition LMFAO, It's exposition you tools. The World Expo's eg. "Montreal Expos" were not expeditions.

  • To anyone else who bags on this video, search Segal + Silva and you will see a fat Steven Segal do some amazing shit.

  • @massnerder1 Anderson Silva trains with Steven Segal you fucking idiot.

  • totally fake. Could never doing it in real life. His delusional students run at his and throw themselves around.

  • exibition.

  • Steven Segal has the flawless Freeflow 2.0 achievement xD Fuck Chuck Norris !!

  • As much as I like Steven Seagal, I'd like to seehim doing the same thing against Mirko Cro Cop :)

  • HE WAS MAGNIFICENT!

  • so gay.

  • Awesome, I needed a good laugh to start my day! Seagal is a clown.

  • expo stands for exposition not expedition retards !

  • i like how they flop around and jump to the ground when he touches them.you know why you dont see akido im mma?because it dosent work .

  • @massnerder1 they do rolling or jump when they are touch to avoid injury or possible death please don't comment if you don't know what's is the principle of aikido. respect

  • Steven Seagal defence = don't get near him.

  • EXPEDITION OR NOT, WHO WOULD WANT TO FIGHT SEAGAL IN A FIGHT??? NOT ME FUCK THAT

  • Was the fight real or were the people just acting and letting steven throw them?

  • look up CHI master vs. mma on you tube.

    BS martial arts.BS dude.

  • FUCK U ALL THAT SAY STEVEN SEAGAL IS A LOSER !!!!! HE IS AWSOME

  • @757killer757 These days he's also fat

  • @MrBruno2000 But he can still fight and defend himself

  • @757killer757 Yeah ..I would never mess with that guy

  • At 2:30, the guy on the left walking right past seagal says it all.

  • Search "The Path Beyond Thought". In his dojo they're for real, not scripted. Steve might be a potbellied 90's action movie guy, but he'd bust that ass if need be.

  • Most of these traditional martial arts that do training like this and even in their 'dojos' work almost purely with scripted set ups and specific counters are about as effective as professional wrestling. Sure a powerbomb is actually going to hurt someone, but do you think it's really gonna work on someone not cooperating?

  • @UnknownCrypt

Go try to punch Steven Segal in the face. See what happens.

Don't comment on something you clearly know very little about.

  • @UnknownCrypt those guys look like they are jumping when he takes them down. I dont believe anybody can go flying in the air when you take him down by wrist lock or whatever he does there. about the powerbomb, if you are really really strong and you do it on somebody smaller you can actually do it without other person helping. you probably couldnt drop him flat on his back but on his neck and upper back you can.

  • lol..and aikidokas wonder why no one takes them seriously...

  • @risingphoenix737 lol skaters saying that is hilarious.

  • gangsta

  • Segal is real he trains spider search it.

  • Segal inspires me. look at the way he just grabs the guys wrist and chucks him on the ground so elegantly like hes an extension of his body. Love it. :)

  • The first kid was definitly the best.

  • ya here the baby crying in the background LOL

  • ya here the baby crying in the background LOL

  • Nice demonstration

  • Its sort of like preaching to the converted, u push around a few students who put up no challenge & they call it an art?... Im yet to see Aikido have an effective in real combat situations. It might have an effect on a pub drunk at your local pub, but a trained martial artist needs more then basic blocking moves & wrist holds/pressure points & tumble turns... This style is not a complete form of fighting (it is only a form of defence at best).

  • @4210jj preacher, preacher, just dont be a teacher :)

  • @4210jj you take all the fun out of gracefully dodging, you know that?

  • lol

  • how come they instantly do flips? thats the only reason i dont want to do aikido

  • @ThomasDemko because if they dont do the flips and the technique connects, best case is he sparains he wrist and with some techniques a broken neck( paralysis from neck down or death)

  • Comment removed

  • @Scarramanga i agree and to all of those people saying Aikido dont work, please go and say that to seagal's face, these are demonstrations not real fights, if Seagal had too, he could broke someones arm in a second, or wrist, or ankle, or leg, these people are running at him and are prepared for what hes going to do, they know how to land safetly, what do you think would happen if seagal got hold of a person who didnt know any martial arts? he'd throw them around like a dam ragdoll

  • @Scarramanga

Expedition? I don't think that means what you think it means...maybe try that again after consulting a dictionary.

  • Comment removed

  • @Scarramanga

You do realize that Expedition is the actual journey part right? Not the destination. So unless you are talking about the part where they walk to the center of the floor you are wrong again. Also notice that it's Steven Seagal Akido "Expo" not "Expe". Expo is short for Exposition. The definition of which is..."a large-scale public exhibition or show" The actual act of what they are doing at the exposition is called an exhibition. Exhibition - a public display. Strike two

  • @Scarramanga I don't think you were saying that people were confusing Steven's travel from point A to point B with a fight and not only that, they were accusing that walk of being a fake fight. You were quite obviously referencing the exhibition, it being the only thing that might be mistaken for a fight.

  • @Scarramanga exibition

  • @Scarramanga This is an EXPOSITION, Sherlock. Or an Exhibition if you will, not an expedition. Exposition = A show, a display, or in this case a demonstration of Aikido techniques.

  • @Scarramanga in aikido there is no fight idiot and there are on turnaments

    it is ki aikido noob

  • @Scarramanga exibition

  • @Scarramanga Expedition to where? Ja ja. Lapsus calami. You mean exhibition.

  • @Scarramanga Ah, and, of course, you are absolutely right. :)

  • @Scarramanga Do you know the difference between an exposition and and exedition?

  • @gwcstudio Yes I do! You should learn to spell and construct a sentence first before asking a question. "Exposition" is the fiction-writing mode for conveying information and "exedition" isn't a word at all.

  • @Scarramanga -- True. After 5 shots of tequila I make mistakes. What's your excuse?

  • Comment removed

  • Send in a folk style wrestler now

  • FAKE!!! I believe in akido and using people momentum against them but c'mon this is a demonstration which means it's choreographed! Although he could kick anyones butt (except chuck norris of course lol) in a real life fight it wouldn't be as "clean" looking as this.

  • @mdocday21 In real life there will be some broken hands and dislocated shoulders

  • @mdocday21 Not completely fake. Technically the ones attacking him are free to use any methods to do so, but I think a lot of the times when this happens versus someone as highly trained and respected as Seagal they understand what he is capable of and do not want to risk their own injury. A lot of Aikido is understanding how to fall and avoid injury yourself, and even though I've just been doing it for a short while, it's easy to see they are avoiding falling into eachother a lot.

  • BS

  • @crazyfootyfan it is obvious that you dont understand this form, and he could, now granted, tyson wouldnt be stupid enough to strike someone after he sees the shit this guy can do, but i promise you, it is as real as it gets. i have been to competitions where people have taken falls they didnt know how to do. With all due respect, i respect your opinion, but i have seen what can happen after this if you dont know what the hell your doing, and trust me, it aint pretty

  • This is a demonstration and not a street fight......

  • A Arte do Aikido Pode parecer ensaiada Mas quando bem aplicada deixa o oponente no caso o atingido com sérias dores ...

Sim eu pratico aikido e posso dizer para todos.. os golpes realmente machucam ...

  • attack of the zombies?

  • Lol this is not staged... uve never seen real aikidofights? It just looks like because they dont hurt each other.

Aikido is stronger then every other budo or material art because its just the perfection of defense...

Morehei Ueshiba was a Grandmaster in Karate, Tai chi and even tai chi is alot more aggressive. He developed Aikido so i think he knows what art is the best to use :)

  • "The director would like to assure everyone that no Japs were harmed during the making of this video"

  • @microcephalec - Can you learn Aikido without bowing to Japs and prostrating yourself before them? Kind of feels a bit weird after that WWII thing.

  • @AbsoluteMonarchist wtf.. did u fight in WWII.....if not then dont bring up a stupid subject. and its bowing to respect the person not the ethnicity.

  • @DasCrimson - I wouldn't agree that it's a 'stupid subject', however I conceed my comment was in poor taste. I retract it and apologise. And no I didn't fight in WWII and neither did any of my relatives. The surviving men from the previous generation of my family became the sole earners in a family that lost 14 immediate members in the first world war and had to care for an amputee brother who lost his leg from a shell and died from emphysema due to gas attacks at Second Ypres.

  • que falco

  • NOT

  • This is pretty funny it reminds me of doing somersaults in kindergarten LOL.

  • "The actual story is that Seagal let Lebell get him in a choke because he thought he could get out of it with his aikedo skills. It wasn't an actuall fight. In a actual fight Seagal would have destroyed the old man."

Seagal is a obviously a master, but I don't care who you are - if someone who knows what they are doing puts you in a good rear-naked choke, you are going to lose consciousness. And Gene LaBell definitely knew what he was doing; he was a martial arts master himself.

  • Aikido, hapkido, jiujitsu are all related arts, and all work in actual combat and the ring. MMA fighters are not permitted to use small joint manipulations (wrist, fingers) because they are so disabling and effective. As for whether or not these arts are effective, our military (including special ops) and police personnel learn combat hapkido. Judging these arts on the basis of a demo isn't a valid test of whether they work or not.

  • Aikido has no competitive aspect...that's why their demonstrations look so staged. The philosophy is to avoid a fight, not beat your opponent into the ground.

  • I want Steven Seagal and chuck Norris on my team!

  • Lol if any of you read up on Systema you will soon see that both these were developped roughly at the same time and work on the same principles. Now, if systema is used by russian military for self defense in very real and very fast situations and has been really tested not only on the street but at war....and aikido is the same....lacking only one thing: hitting which you can add yourself....I wonder what will happen....

  • It's more an art form then a real fighting sport! Not a selfdefendse sport for the common street situations this time of century! Realy nice to watch though! And fu#%ing hard te learn!

  • @kwakiutlthunderbird Go down to Louisiana and ask Steven to spar with you at full speed full contact. I guarentee you will be fucked up.

  • @kwakiutlthunderbird: Aikido works as a fighting art; if you don't believe it, try taking on an aikido master sometime. You will pay the price in pain. The demonstrations are staged to a certain degree, especially the falls. Why? Because those joint locks and throws would disable or destroy the joints, if the target didn't fall properly. Those spectaular "throws" aren't throws at all sometimes, but falls designed to protect the uke or recipient of the technique.

  • i think the aesthetic art of Aikido is beutiful and entertaining to the onlooker because of all the rolling and twisting,if taken to the basic form would be a bit of a mess ,no fluidity no show! However when in the past having dealings with this art they found it very difficult to applicate any of their forms or technique to a unconventional attack. Shame really.

  • What style of aikido is seagal doing?

  • Steven Seagal has said in a recent interview regarding his akido technique 'The incorporation of presumptuous ancient Chines methods ,combined with the ancient Mayan philosophy has led me to a greater understanding of the demonetization of the Eastern culture as well as declassification of pure hatred as noted in the book Five Lines , Five Boxes by the Japanese author Jen Sen Pen.It has rematerialized any doubt I previously had'

  • ... and anyone who claims to think this is fake, i dare you to challenge an aikido master. just dont come to any of us believers with you have several broken bones, a fractured shoulder, and a shattered collar bone. Point Blank. Period.

  • The first thing an aikido practioner learns is how to take a fall. It is the most important in this form to learn. tne reason why it looks fake is the people taking on seagal are all aware of that. If an experienced aikido master were to take on random guys in a "fight" then the sorry bastards would be on the floor with several broken bones. Its primary purpose is to teach a philosophy about redirecting energy. d

  • @pfjenkinsfrost LOL okay and could he redirect a Tyson left hook............didnt think so.

  • @crazyfootyfan the answer is yes....easily

  • @IchigoKurosakiX18 dear god...............if that were the case then every MMA fighter would learning the art but guess what they aint.......because its garbage.

  • @crazyfootyfan that's not what anderson silva said

  • yahoo brought me here.

  • Although Japanese tolerate foreigners to practice akido, it's still just "tolerate". It wouldn't be possible for Mr. Seagal to act as a sensei of a dojo (which he did), if he did not have the skill to back him up.

The movie looked like fake, is because the practitioners were using skills to break the fall and prevent injuries..... to a degree , you can say they were pulling punches.

This is just another example that a good martial artist does not = a good actor.

  • Fake as fuck man

  • @SillyBoyBlue83 are you an idiot?! i just promoted to orange belt in Gojo Ryu today......and i also do MMA.....this stuff is as real as UFC. hell i used some of these moves in my karate promotion in which i had to take on 3 people the same rank as me....i said why try to take a hit when i can dodge or redirect their energy?! trust me its real.........unless you think that all akido practitioners are actors......i dont think so. my point proven.

  • @IchigoKurosakiX18 no not an idiot im an orange belt too in traditional japanese Ju Jitsu not the brazilian shite. Just heard its fake and more for show and keeping fit than self defence in todays world.

  • @SillyBoyBlue83 You think Japanese ju jitsu is better than Brazillian? I guess hundreds of elite MMA fighters must be wrong. Pull your head outta your ass buddy.

  • @soultaker22 Im sorry but who are you ?? I dont recall even talking to you troll

  • @SillyBoyBlue83 Oooo zing. Did you think that up all by yourself? I bet you've never even been in a real fight.

  • @soultaker22 Then you would be greatly mistaken.

  • @SillyBoyBlue83 So you just don't know what the fuck you're talking about...my mistake. Interesting how you dislike BJJ and think Aikido looks fake considering both are derivatives of Japanese Ju-Jitsu. Dumbass.

  • @soultaker22 Wow your 34 years old. You certinaly dont act like it.

  • @SillyBoyBlue83 its a demonstration. Aikido is self-defense, not like any art out there man.

  • @aikidostudent1 I respect all martial arts mate, I was just saying this looks fake lol

  • @SillyBoyBlue83 i must say, on this video is does look fake, because of the angel of something, but i promise when i go to my martial arts class and get thrown around by guys 3inchs shorter than me. its real! hahaha

  • @aikidostudent1 Hahahaha thats wat i meant wen i said it THIS looks fake not all Aikido lol Thanks for freind request

  • @SillyBoyBlue83 no problem haha, and ahh mybad i thought you were putting aikido down.

  • Comment removed

  • @Scarramanga You mad bro ?

  • @SillyBoyBlue83 you mad bro?

  • rediculous.......

  • To the person who said he is not really touching them you are retarded i took martial arts and i have been hit and put in submission holds and if some one does a wrist lock or finger lock on you right i gaurentee you will drop it only takes a little pressure unless maybe if you are on drugs or doubble jointed.

  • @Thorantar They get broken bones that what would and has happend even on accident.

  • bruce lee

  • Staged...

  • @johnnywadd65 its not ive seen him in real life -.-

  • @johnnywadd65 its a demonstration idiot.... its supposed to be choriographed

  • Bruce Lee is Better :) He is the best...

  • I want to hire Seagal to play Bill Hassel

  • people who talks trash about aikido and other martial arts they are those people are not worthy or deserving to be a martial artist!!

  • i really dont understand why some other people keep criticizing other martial arts like aikido and talking trash about them and why do you call yourself a martial artist if you lack of discipline and respect to the other arts..these people who talks trash does not have a brain or heart they are just morons

  • This is staged obviously.

  • Steven Segal doesn't like asian people.

  • like

  • @Sc0rphion ---- i tell you what... i promise to attend at least 1 aikido practice if you promise to try your shit against a judoka or bjj practitioner under full resistance... have you seen tomiki aikido tournaments? look it up on youtube... one guy has a fake knife and is allowed to "resist" and stab the aikidoka... guess how many times the aikidoka disarms his attacker? guess how many times the aikidoka gets stabbed? tomiki aikido tournament... look it up...

  • Aikido makes attacker is an idiot :)

  • Jesus christ, was this fake, or is it actually possible to do that in a fight, cuz if so, that was fucking amazing.

  • steven the best!!!

  • that ladies and gentleman is the definition of badass

  • there are no dangerous marital arts, only dangerous people

  • @Thorantar if someone resists then their arm will be broken in Aikido you must learn to fall when you are thrown if some random attacker with no aikido trainign were to take a throw like that they would go to the hospital in an instant

  • ahaah

Walker, Texas Ranger is the best, he never dies!

  • I swear, to many ignorant kids or dumbfuks out there who are incapable of seeing MMA as it's true form... the JOCKS of the martial art world. It's all good to master several forms but to clown one over an another just shows you are either in it for the wrong reasons or you are simple minded person critiquing from the side lines (where you should be.) This is all for mind, body and spirit. Trying to show off that you can kick ass just makes us all look bad...

  • he even has time to comb his hair... 1:53

  • fake and/or gay...

  • @Jonth93 we dont need to here your life story

  • HAHAHAHAHA ALL I GOTTA SAY IS CAIN VELASQUEZ VS STEVEN SEAGUL HAHA ITL BE THE FIRST DEATH IN MMA MEANING CAIN WILL KILL HIM HAHA

  • He's a master alright, but he cant use that type of BS on MMA fights? It just wont work?. My buddy is a black belt on this type of shit' whats odd about it that he cant do the same to me as he can to his class mates? As he said some parts are just acting motion? meaning the guy just knows how to fall and it's all some sort of premeditated play? Fake shit if you tell me.

  • hes a 7th dan in martial arts, u being sarcastic, u saying that u can beat up steven seagal? sounds like we got a challenge lol

  • @littelG333 I believe i can!! All of the Aikido moves is only an art in motion, just for looks? all you have to do is pull away once he grabs your hand and put your body weigh when pull off. its all BS as Hollywood has incorporated the art? There is no way an Aikido master can walk away once grab from the waist an you take him down? tried many times with my buddy? it is so fake! but nice looking that is all. Seagal will do his thing and I'll do mine, there is no way he can hold on to me. :-)

  • @martinez418 do you really think it's that easy?

why don't you try aikido than and than talk.

  • @martinez418

The reason you probably consider Aikido an art of motion is because the opponent moves to cover his face and back and moves himself into position from which he can counter attack. It isn't taught in aikido but if you twist someones hand in a certain way to work him to the ground and he doesn't go then you can either just seriously damage his hand, or he will leave his face, back or stomach wide open for an easy punch.

  • @lingonlas Don't get me wrong, yes i believe if you get caught by the hand most certainly and Akido master can break it. The question is can he grab the hand on a one on one combat with you or me? the answer would be no? if you fight an Akido master the moment he grabs your hand you're reaction would be to pull away, by using your body weight there is no way he can grab it? i say this cause I'm living proof! not only once i tried it but various times

  • @lingonlas It will probably work if I'm drunk? on all my six senses there is no way an Akido master can grab your hand, just pull away, he might have a better chance hitting you on the face or any part of the body rather than performing one of those awesome Hollywood performance dances Seagal pulls on TV

  • @martinez418 so we should kill ourselfs when doing aikido?

ofcourse they know how to fall because it's not a fight it's just a demonstration.

if you are in a fight(street fight or whatever)than you use the real thing without motion acting.

    understand?

  • @antispammaster No you shouldn't kill yourselves? Just stop wasting your money on this Akido dance? Akido CANT be use in MMA! An akido master will loose to a purple belt jiu-jitsu fighter any day of the week? And for all the akido trainees, you know what I'm talking about. it's all premeditated telegraphic moves to look good on events such as the one Seagal is in? Wont work on the cage? Might work on a drunk punk!! Understand....

  • aikido is only for self defense not for fighting use your brain!!!! all martial arts is good it depends on the person who uses it on the right way

  • @357rovan Every form of martial arts it's use for defense not for fighting? use YOUR brain sir!!

  • csicska kanyu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!4

  • just imagine this guys...........if you know tis martial arts you are the biggest master in the world...........judo,karate,aikido,JKD,kung-fu,tai-ci,pa-qua-chang and tae-kwon-do..................buy....no one can learn so much......

  • P.S. I train like 5 or 6 days a week, so I have earned what I've gotten.

  • @TheMrAdax That's what Seagal funs like to say. Even if it had happened the way you say, Seagal couldn't get away with his AIKIDO SKILLS. So his AIKIDO SKILLS were not at the level Seagal himself thought them to be.

    Here's what happened:

Segal was extremely rough on the stunt men during the filming of a movie, and Gene paid him a visit to let him know his thought on this (Gene is a rough character). Judo Gene ended up choking Segal out. Segal let one fly while he was out.

  • @angelodkaribite Man No martial art is bad it just comes down to the person who studies it and is better at countering there attack

  • @nathan6t9r In English, Please

  • @nathan6t9r EXACTLY. Everyone always asks does this art work LOL the art don't do the fighting for you. A good fighter could learn that tae-bo (spelling?) and still be able to defend themselves.

  • @angelodkaribite I've been practicing Martial Arts for 11 Years, And There's no such thing as a better Martial Artist, Its depends on your teachers and you disapline. I'm 2nd Degree Black Belt in Black Dragon Ninjitsu, 1st Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, 1st Degree Black Belt in Aikido.

  • @EnemyRCA Im a 1st degree blackbelt in shadow boxing
