there's nothing wrong with the scissors. there are 12 cutting implements on this multitool. 1. wire cutters 2. wire stripper 3. wire scraper round cutter 4. reamer 5. chisel/scraper 6. cable insulation cutter 7. blade 8. wood saw 9. metal saw 10. metal file 11. scissors 12. can opener. if there is anything that one device can't do there is another that can accomplish the required task. the edge of the file is the metal saw.
i'd rather have the bit set with the victorinox because you can use any old bits you have in your toolbox whereas the wave, surge, alx, tti, etc... can only use bits purchased from leatherman. so if you lose them you can't just go to a hardware store and get another.

I would've considered buying this if it weren't for the butter knife. That chisel was the highlight for me though.

Those look like normal sized bits that come in any tool kit...Should be able to find some sockets too.
