Park Police found it. They aren't dumb. As soon as you put a video this detailed they knew exactly where to go. There is a news video on youtube somewhere that explains they sealed the ventilation shaft somehow.

how about checking out the local library. Bet there are all kinds of articles about it. Looks like Ft. Funston. Bet there are vets out there that served in it when it was still open. There is another one on the north side of the Golden Gate. Can't think of its name though. Hard to imagine it all lit up, soldiers in spit shined shoes and pressed uniforms doing their daily tasks, laughing, arguing etc.

If any of you know SF well, back in 1998 at Octavia and Market is an old Victorian house that had burned pretty bad and many tweakers were living in it. however, behind it was a parking lot. A friend of mine said check this out, and pulled a piece of plywood away and there was a huge hole that of course went way down into..............a speakeasy, from prohibtion days. HUGE wide and tall area. Mahogany bar and massive brass cash register. Its all filled in and built on for some GLBT building.

Q. Where did the Grafitti come from? Is it resent?

A. Some is resent. Most is not, it was from before the front doors of the bunker were sealed. The resent came mostly from a big group whom knows the bunkers location.

Q. How did they figure out where it was and seal it?

A. The most likely used pictures and video from things like this and then compared them to bunker plans. I do not rightly know.

There is a figure in jeans in the what looks like a bathroom at 2:52, and when you go over there a few seconds later hes gone. Was he with you guys? Also have you found anybody else down there with you? Do you carry any protection? How easy is it to get into doing something like this, I have had a fascination with bunkers and batteries since I can remember. I have visited a few along Puget Sound near Port Townsend and just moved to SF and am dying to check these out.

Found it myself today. What's great is that it's hidden quite well, but if you are actively looking, you'll be able to find it. I did not venture in (not dressed appropriately), but I made sure to cover it up more. Made sure that it is as hidden as possible by putting leaves and vegetation around it, to make it look more real.

For those who find this. BE CAREFUL. Because of recent publicity, the area is now being patrolled by rangers. If you are caught, it can result in immediate jail time. You will be added to a list, and the next time they catch you it WILL result in jail time. Also, for the love of common sense, if you are the last one down, cover the entrance back up!

I really like how you made this video. It really illustrates the vast amount of construction it took making the bunker. There's this curiosity about what really went on in there during its operation and what the roles of the personnel would have been during its operation, and how important it was to keep such a place in secrecy.

Found it today! Took about 10 min. Way too easy to find it. Upon leaving i tried to make the opening less noticeable but later I noticed someone else going down they weren't to be inconspicuous about it.
