  • i like how your hips move

  • Lovely stuff

  • Sounds good

  • Awesome. I had just checked out superduperryane's version and yours was next. I'd always assumed that Dee Murray played with a pick because his parts were so nimble and almost "Squire-like" but you've achieved the sound finger-style.

  • @TJH3113 Dee did record quite a lot with a pick in the early 70s, less so late 70s/80s

  • @77edster

It certainly sounded like he used a pick but many of the photos I've seen of him showed him using his fingers. Thanks for clearing that up.

  • Fantastic Job sir!!!

  • I think you've got it! Very cool.

  • Dude you a re hitting it out of the park with this. Dee is one of my favorite bass players his tone and phrasing were phenomenal. You are doing his memory justice here. Thanks!

  • nice!!!, why dont you try with some early elton songs from the album 11 17 70, where the bass is amazing!!

11 17 70 was a festin for elton john band, piano drums and bass on their peak!!

  • great..u nailed it..great feel...

  • Great Job!!!!! I could have sworn I saw your name in the credits on the album jacket :)

  • Great job on this bass line. Dee Murray was one of THE BEST and most underrated bassists! Thanks for posting! Keep up the great work! Would love to hear your cover of Danny Bailey! ;-)

  • OH MY GOD DUDE! YOU ARE F-ING AWESOME! Dee Murray is the reason I picked up a bass in the first place but you, my friend...ARE F-ING AWESOME! Grey Seal is one of my all time fave EJ tunes because of Dee's basslines and you did him proud! Very very nice! I have to watch it again. I am just about in tears! :)

  • I LOVE THIS TUNE. omg. you did such a great job!! =] =]

  • I had to come back and check this out again. Unbelievable. Dee Murray would be proud.

Well then I have to come back and thank you again!! :)

  • Holy cow. What a great bass player you are. Check out my cover of Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me. Hope you dig it. You're terrific.

  • @JimmyLeeHook

Wow man, thanks! Your "Don't Let The Sun..." cover was far better than my video if you ask me, but still, thanks!

  • @Spector2112

    your bass clip is great...

  • Dee was 'the man' for sure. I think he was to bass what Jerry Douglas is to Doboro.

Care to try 'Danny Bailey?' =)

That has to be one of the best bass lines ever recorded.

  • Awesome job and absolutely PERFECT bass sound.

...caught a glimpse of the old 8-sting holes at around 1:00

  • well thank you sir.

every once in a while Franken-Spector gives up it's secrets...

  • Did you learn this by ear, or with tabs? Good job, btw

  • thanks

all by ear, I doubt there are any tabs available for this one. But I have been listening to it for years...
