I think it's fine to teach a dog to attack sometimes that's part of the reason why people get dogs to protect their family I think you are so love thy dog you forget the many other reasons why people get dogs it sometimes isn't just for companionship it's kind of frustrating to watch your videos because you are kind of pushing your views on us instead of offering suggestions and answering questions
teaching your dog to bite has nothing to do with making them aggressive, unless an amateur is training them the wrong way. Training them to bite on command is a game and is fun for them and improves your relationship. Teaching them to bite other people like in schutzhund/personal protection is a matter of ultimate control and trust between you and your dog, and takes the highest levels of training. If a dog is using prey drive, it is not being aggressive, it is having fun, like biting their toy
Who the hell even NEEDS an attack dog and what good are they when most criminals are carrying guns unless your dog is bullet proof? Anyone ever notice that hardly any women are interested in training or obtaining attack dogs? Attack dog owners must be men with very small penises. It's pathetic that they need a big, tough dog to make them feel like a real man.
why do u need a dog to attack? I have 2 black labs that are both hunters, and have never been trained to attack, yet if someone broke into my house and tried to harm me, my dogs would PROTECT, and i have never trained them too. One you make a dog aggressive, it becomes a great liability. Anyways, your video sucks!
hi there zak, my name is daniel.i have a full blood staffordshire bull terrier and she is a lovely animal only problem i find is that when she gets too excited, she starts to bite. right now its not realy a problem as she is a pup but when she is older and stronger this will be a magor concern. i have a young baby and want to make sure that when she pets the dog will behave. do u have any advice on how to calm her n make her obey regardles of distraction. many thanks, Dan
@MrSpikedanny I have no problem with the breed but as a owner of a powerful breed she should taught as a PUPPY that it is not okay to bite never ever will it be unless on a toy or item that will not be harmed no offense to you but lots of people think well it is just a puppy he is okay she is just playing no when you get a dog dogs want to know how you work what is okay so they do things to see is it okay so I suggest you train her young mind things early humans and dogs the younger the better.
@AmericanPitbulls1 thats what i thort when thinking about buying the pup. ye when she mouths me as a pup it doesnt hurt but she will soon grow and the jaws will get stronger and lil on has more sensative skin and the inability to stop the dog,
He asked " How to train your dog to attack!" Which she or he most likely ment "How to train your dog to protect themsleves and the owner!" Now you didn't even answer the question and at the end you said it yourself! " That's how I feel about this" nobody asked you how you felt, and by the way... you should change the title. Ppl over here thinking something way different.
@mrobelisk10 yeah get a gun that's always good like a child wouldn't accendtly hurt themselves if they found it or sonething like that and its always better to shoot and kill then to have your dog draw a little blood right ? Dumbass
If you have problems protecting yourself, I have three words for you.... GET A GUN..... duh! Or get tougher.... that could help too... don't use your dog as a shield.
I agree that ppl with a ego that train there dogs to be aggressive is wrong. But i believe having a "PROFESIONALLY" trained personal protection dog is not a bad thing. Because the society we live in today if u are out walking and someone attacks u, u can set the dog on them just to give u enough time for u and ur dog to escape the attacker. To me you can call back your dog, but you cant call back a bullet. You should only use ur dog as a last resort and not to be cocky!!!
want a dog to scare off intruders... there are plenty of dogs with the bark that can do it! XD! But "Attack Dogs" are a wrong term used for respected fully decorated K-9 Officers or professionally trained protection dogs. They don't train a dog to be aggressive, the trainers teach it as a game. Its a game to get the guy that the human officer says "get em". But this is only for professionals like our blessed K-9 Units...
oh my goodness, just the title of this video makes me upset - people should get dogs as companion animals, not as a replacement for a security system!
I think it's best not to train a dog to attack. If dogs are taught to attack, it's more likely it would attack someone who would do no harm. The only dog that I've ever seen attack was a small dog anyway. From what I've seen in the world, the bigger dogs have a louder bark and can scare people away easily, but it's the smaller dogs that actually try to bite people.
I disagree. If the dog runs away it either has issues with fear, or your bond with the dog isnt strong enough. I've heard tons of stories about "worlds sweetest dog" turn into a fearsome beast that protects its home and family.
@davidjepank Furthermore, what is it that you disagree with in this video? You are in favor of our dogs intentionally attacking people as opposed to us making sure we keep them safe? It is no more our dog's responsibility to endanger themselves for our ego, than it is for our children to be asked to use a weapon to protect us. There are better ways to insure our personal safety.
Actually, the dog will protect you if needed. Maybe not by attacking, but sure as h*ll it will protect its pack if it feel a threat, and its enough that the dog sense that the owner gets nervous/scared. I got the sweetest little dog that loves all human beings and she barked at some drunk or high kids that made me uncomfortable just to make them take some distance, and it worked. Never underestimate barking and instincts.
Okay Zak, serious response. I think you should come out of the closet if you have a boyfriend or like guys. My gaydar is off the charts. You could be a good roll model for gay youth. I know you want to be a celebrity but I think you should be who you are. You never talk about girls or girlfriends etc, And you are really really cute!! so please consider what I have said :)
@BobbyBrady2000 He doesn't speak of girlfriends because he is currently single; he and his last girlfriend recently broke up. Also, he mainly posts videos to discuss dogs and training, not his personal life.
I agree with you Zak completely, but out of curiosity, is there a way to do this without having to provoke the dogs and make them aggressive? How do the schutzund and police people do it? Especially schutzund? I can think of a couple of ways but I'm not sure they'd work... I've always been interested in how that sport is tought... Not that I really think I'd actually do it...
@mahakhalil1 Police and Shutz don't make their dogs aggressive. They simply reinforce the dogs for doing certain behaviors, just like teaching tricks. For example, police dogs are often given a tug toy or a ball after a chase or bark and hold. Any dog in these disciplines that acts on emotion rather than a given command is considered poorly trained. Protection dogs should be able to be pet by the person they have just bitten because emotion/aggression has nothing to do with it.
@melissa2ea Thanks for your reply! I do understand that (I am an obedience trainer), but what I'm wondering about is how do you get the dog to do that first bite (or hold) so that you can reinforce it? Do you just shove someone's gloved arm in the dog's mouth and mark the behaviour as the dog does it then reward it? Or do you make use of the fact that puppies generally mouth everything and just work on that?? I'm very curious about this... Would be great if you can tell me more!!
@melissa2ea i was just gonna type that. But i understant why Zak is talking like that since i've seen so many people jerking and yelling and hitting their dogs to make them aggressive towards others which of course is stupid, cruel AND dangerous. I would simply add this: if you want your dog to be a protection dog then don't ever ever EVER train it by yourself. Visit a proffessional trainer instead who uses positive reinforcment. Yes, that's the method being used in protection dog training too.
@mahakhalil1 Any dog that is properly taught to attack must be taught to do so without any negative emotion. My view is that this should only be done for sport by people who teach this humanely. I cannot imagine asking a dog that I love to attack on my behalf, whether out of emotion or not, in a real life scenario. It is not their responsibility.
@zakgeorge21 Yes, I agree about the way it should be taught, and I personally wouldn't teach that to my dog as I would be terrified that they might get hurt. I'm quite happy if it can just alert me to the presence of strangers, which most dogs do naturally or can be taught to do quite easily. But I wonder if what your view means that you think dogs should't be used in police work or search and rescue where they can be put in harms way? Or maybe you're just talking about dogs owned by individuals
I personally think it's ok to train your dog to attack in sports like shutzhund but for your average citizen there is no need to go out of your way to train your dog to attack. It's such an easy thing to get wrong and could end with your dog being put to sleep or seized. It's not worth it and should only be done in a controlled situation with experience proffessionals.
Your passion in this subject touches me. When I was young, we had a dog who was fear-aggressive. We sent him to a training facility for two weeks. These people used correction via chain collar and also had an extra program for "protection training". I saw one of the dogs doing it and how legitimately upset he got. I am currently in training with my dog and we are working together using positive training techniques. She is so amazing and loves people and especially children (we're working on the
Teach your dog to attack and your asking for trouble, your dog will end up bitting someone and you will be in a position to have to put your dog down or be sued, besides it's your job to protect your dog not the other way around. Our dogs do more than enough for us already.
I agree completely. My dog is protective of my family, our house, and of me especially, and that's more than enough for me. I like how you often trace dogs back to their domestic origins without relating them to wolves and/or "pack animals". They're not wolves, they're a tame, domesticated animal for christs sake, and humans did so.
