I watched these films in the sixties with my grandma in San Antonio,TX on saturday afternoons. It was called Shock Theater. Still love em! Now my son loves black and whites like me, though he prefers film noir.
Saturday nights "Creature Feature", "Shock Theater" or "Fantastic Features." Whatever the name there were several weekly horror shows that appeared on t.v in the late fifties through much of the sixties. I may have grown older, but I haven't outgrown these great films of the past. They also bring back memories to me of a much simpler time. I believe Universal is releasing a remake of The Wolfman later this year in theaters. Let's hope that they don't butcher this classic.
@5inchreel Well said ! I remeber waching this classic and many others from universal as a kid on Friday Night Frights as a kid in the 70s. I had all of these Castle films on 8mm. Chaney,Karloff, Lugosi. Awesome. That is why i am a filmmaker today.
My favorite short from the Mummy series from Castle Films, even though it does use the old "burn the monster" ending. Still gets two thumbs up from this Universal Monster fan.
I like this film- I think the only negative was it drew too heavily on flashbacks from "The Mummy's Hand" in the beginning
