TRULY SHE WAS BORN IN 1917.

a number of assoiates brought to the attention that she was born in that year and gave her year of birth as 1914, to try to get into business earlier. even so her tomb marker had to be replaced to read 1917.

Jane Wyman was beautiful in a non sensual "baby doll" way, she was a good actress but no way deserved an Oscar for that silent role. Hollywood must have had it in for Barbara Stanwyk, because of all the times she was nominated, 1948 presented no excuse for denying her yet again.

There was and always will be, something magical about Falcon Crest. The scenery, the music and most of all Jane Wyman. This was of course, her best and longest role. Rest in Peace Jane - you will never be forgotten.

I loved Jane Wyman but I've talked to a couple of women who were going to the movies during the time that Jane Wyman was popular and they said that they were always aware of Jane Wyman--she was in a lot of movies--but she didn't seem to have the panache that the others had, and that no one went to the movies to see Jane Wyman, as far as they knew, although they might have gone to see movies that she was in. She was always considered "second echelon".

Thanks for the tribute video. I haven't seen much of her work (I'm 21), but I recently saw Miracle in the Rain. I don't think any other movie has ever made me cry as much as that one did. She was spectacular.

It's out on dvd. I'm a Netflix member, so I can get rare movies you don't find often in stores like it. I highly recommend it. Van Johnson costars.
