Because they were already ahead enough that it wouldn't hurt them much. Either way, he never fights any real heavyweights except for Ivanins once. He's a fake NHL tough guy. Whether he is 20 or not, the kid shouldn't fight so much unless he wants to fight the big guys too. He fights too often with guys like Crombeen and Clarkson for you to use the excuse that its an unfair trade of talent. He never seemed to care with smaller less talented guys. Watch the video of Lucic when Larque was on the Pens. He was not up for fighting, as he was skating away while Laraque was practically saying drop em now. I have mentioned Ivanins on here previously, but that is his only claim to fame. I was happy to see Lucic take it to that dirt bag Jarko Ruutu though. I hope he does it again soon. Um, dipshit the Bruins were up 4-0 in the game against Pittsburgh and there was no need to fight. There are 3 reasons to fight in the NHL. Protect yourself from a cheap hit, protect a teammate after a cheap hit, and to change the momentum. Why would the Bruins want to change the momentum of a game they were winning 4-0? Lucic was also wearing a shield against the Pens because of a broken nose. Watch the video again and notice the visor that he usually doesn't wear.

Well if you don't understand that Lucic had a broken nose and was wearing a shield, and in a game against florida in a fight with Nick Boynton, he lacerated his hand and Boston played Montreal the following night where Lucic opted not to go and scored the tying goal instead, then you can't really comment on why he didn't fight. Perhaps if you want, you can look up Boston's schedule on google to confirm that Lucic hurt his hand the night before playing the Habs. Then you can comment intelligently

Shannahan was never a tough guy. Mike Mike Richards will drop the gloves with people too, but an NHL tough guy is someone who battles with the best.
