  • press 2 rappidly someone is getting shot

  • Awesome fish :D

  • it really makes you wonder how evolution brought the sunfish to have a stumpy, choppy tail and exaggerated dorsal/pectoral fins.

  • Sounds like an episode of the Wildboyz.

  • @bongrocker I was thinkin the same thing at about 2:35.... "what do you eat dude" xDDDDD hahaha

  • he just wants you to pet him and perhaps maybe clean the parasites off his skin for him. =)

  • Sea lions appear to hunt sunfish for sport, tearing the fins off, tossing the body around, and then simply abandoning the still-living but helpless fish to die on the seafloor.

  • He is just too cute. :)

  • WHO'S THAT POKEMON!!!

  • imagine meeting that thing when swimming under water, my f*cking worst nightmare

  • I was fishing at Nags Head SC about 20 years ago and we saw one. We thought it was a dead shark floating in toward the pier but when it got close we saw it was a sunfish. I didnt know what the thing was but someone else on the deck knew. Nice video thanks for posting it!

  • this is such a beautiful video, two species meeting innocently, human being with sunfish ^_^

  • I'm also glad you decided against taking the fish from its habitat. That would've made you a real world class jackass.

  • Ever played Kirby's Dreamland on Gameboy? There's a fish in there named Kine and i'm pretty sure it's one of these. It was my favorite thing for Kirby to ride on too. I like fish, but in the pure sense, I don't eat fish!

  • Congratulations! Amazing video! This video was added to website: fishing-hunting.INFO

  • sunfish are awesome animals. they're friendly, never hurt humans, and only eat jellyfish.. and jellyfish are bitches :)

  • @Pendst: Hell yea!

  • Hey jellyfishes are not bitches, just because they sting doesn't mean their bitches they are just protecting themselves from predators by using their stingers.

  • The sunfishes aren't the only ones who eat jellyfishes, sea turtles too you know.

  • *rofl* " Yeah baby! " XD awesome... i heard Sunfish are very curious creatures : ) they're very kind and nice.

  • OMG I would have freaked out!!!

  • fuckin' Mark...

  • VERY cool video of a Mola mola! You guys really ARE lucky to see one. They eat jellyfish, by the way.

    - Retired police crime scene detective, CEO of a zoo & science museum, Marine Biologist.

  • It's a beautiful fish

  • 1:50 doggy isn't happy at it's presence. XD

  • The giant sunfish is my favorite fish in the entire world. I know it's not the prettiest or the fastest but it's amazing.

  • After 2:00 I thought i was watching porn.

  • 1:99 it's like double rainbow but with sunfish. Your accent is awesome dude!

  • Great video!!!!

  • mark: "get that fucking thing" *throws line in* xDDDDD i lol'd so hard

  • do you has warm? I is cold ;<;

  • the fish was waiting for you to stop looking at it and then it will attack.

  • He actually said, do you want to catch him...

  • Third, had one of us fallen in the water the only concern would be cold water. It was February in the Gulf. Had it been a warm month, I'd have been in with him in a second! Great pics for sure!

  • Mark had a fishing rod with a bait on it. He was dangling it in the water and of course my assumption was he was going to see if the fish would take it. I did not want to hurt such a rare fish in any way. Even if we did release it, survival upon release is 50/50 on many species whether fishermen believe that or not.

Second, Why he circled the boat time and time again is totally out of the ordinary for any fish except if they think there is food present. Must of assumed a food source was close.

  • @bubbagucci Hello. Thanks for the answers, now i understand better. Good bye and good luck with your future experiences.

  • I think it'd be funny if a shark came by and ate him!!

  • omg we are so lucky u guys we are lucky oh fuck were lucky 2:01

  • Hey dude(s) Great video & fish!!

  • that thing would creep me out if I were out in the middle of the ocean

  • @brizzlestick it's actually extremely calm and moves so slow it couldn't hurt you. I have been around many big fish in open water and only once felt have felt threatened. It was a group of fish not just one as this.

  • @bubbagucci dang, well that's good that it's calm, because it sort of resembles a shark on the top. The last time I have ever been out in the ocean, was back when I was 14 years old, went ocean fishing with my Uncle, along with a 6 man crew in Florida, Jupiter beach, which was the summer of 2004 I believe.. I caught two baby sharks, one got away, but the driver of the boat rose it up to the side of the boat.. It was a baby bull shark, it sure was eyeing me, LOL..

  • @bubbagucci Hello, i've got just a couple of questions. Why at 1.17 you say "don't do it Mark"? Why was he turning so long around your boat, and finally what would happen if someone of you falled in the water at that moment? i'm not a fisherman so maybe my questions can seem you quite ridiculous. Bye!

  • @tooropforce hey, i replied but not in the right spot. I seldom log in here.

  • Still, to this day...we were sooo fuckin' lucky! Totally agree

  • @bubbagucci wow your guys are honestly soooo fucking lucky! ahh im jealous!!!

  • "look at that mouth... What do you eat dude?" haha

  • ITS A NEW POKEMON! wild Giant Majicarp appeared! Go Blaziken! XD

  • there was a guy askin what do the sun fish eat i know the ans the ans is anythin but ur bait

  • BP killed this fish

  • @bubbagucci are you steve-o ? rofl

  • its trippin on us dude

  • strangely im reminded of the double rainbow video.....

  • steveo fishin..lol

  • sorry for being noob but how do we see the difference between a moonfish and a sunfish? o.o

  • @MayThe5th

Moonfish are known as Opahs, and they're much smaller. They are found in deeper water than Sunfish are. Opahs are colored bright blue or silver with white spots and scarlet fins. They also have longer tails than Sunfish.

  • Love sunfish.

I heard they are so gentle when I was a little child :)

  • looks like its begging 4 food or something, lol.

  • too bad it isnt there anymore thnx BP

  • how you say wait dude on 3:25 you sound like Steve-o

  • Turn the volume down while watching or people in the next room will think your watching Porn again

  • i kinda think ocean sunfish are a bit creepy

  • youtube bugs

  • Is that even a sun fish

  • don't do it mark!

  • Comment removed

  • "OH yeah baby"

    LOL.

Is it a human girl or a fish your talking about?

  • Those sunfish like to hang out under drifting kelp and debris. It goes by those and turns on it's side like that and seagulls and other fish will eat their parasites. If you notice by it's right gills theres a big parasitic worm attached to the side of the head.

  • @ryanexsus No, it has a fin there. Sunfishes have unique anatomy

  • I like the dog, you can practically hear it going "what the HELL is that!?"

  • Beautiful video - they're so graceful, thanks.

Mola mola are quite shy, but it's likely the boat is over a 'cleaning station' and he/she is trying to get rid of it's parasites.

  • @mountanto

Their parasites are already eaten by seabirds and small fish. I think that it's curious and friendly towards the boat. This creature must be more intelligent than your average fish.

  • Ugleh

  • That Mola Mola's like "Whatcha Doin Guys?"

  • ahaha DUDE, dude.. dude... DUDE... lol but no, that was kool

  • just listen to the audio.... it sounds like a porn.

  • @kacker1990 hahaha fuck thats what i thought.

  • I have three favorite animals. Unfortunately, unlike Wolves and Chickens, there isn't much Sunfish merchandise out there. Oh well, I guess my little Sunfish eraser will do.

They're really beautiful. Thanks for uploading this. I love it.

  • @edgygirl1 So funny that you say that...cuz Mola Mola Sunfish is my favorite fish.....and I can NEVER find any merchandise. But I do have some Mola Mola erasers! So funny that you have that too. The erasers are so damn cute :D

  • Amazing footage there, such an awesome experience it must have been :)

    Congratulations! Wish I'd been there...

  • I bet that fishes ball's are bigger then any large mouth bass ever caught

  • awe... it's curious...

  • @Zappyguy111 All Mola Molas are curious. Harmless. Friendly. and Awesome,

  • Once saw one off the coast of Maine that was literally the size of a VW Beetle. It swam right beside us for almost a half an hour. It actually seemed playful.

  • gulf of mexico = giant oil slick

  • Those things are so rare. Very, very cool to see! Evolution is the weirdest thing, isn't it?

  • Cool & Epic 1:11

    LOL Backround Muzak

  • Wow thats amazing, poor fella might be dead now from all the oil there...

  • You guys are lucky to have seen such a cool fish! Mola molas are one of my favorite creatures and I hope to have the same luck and see one myself someday! Btw, mola mola often come up when they spot something small like your boat (or a piece of torn net, driftwood, or palm fronds) floating on the surface as small fish find refuge these objects. Besides providing a snack, the small fish will eat the many parasites off the mola's skin. They will even let gulls pick off the more stubborn parasites

  • @chocotricks Probably! LOL xD

  • great photography guys, i'm grateful i got to see this.

  • when i first saw the video i thought to myself " IT'S A SHARK HEAD WITHA TAIL" such a cool looking fish

  • They seem so friendly and social, there like OMFG COMPANY SWIMSWIMSWIMSWIMSIWIM HI GUYS HOW YOU DOINNNNNN!!! LOL
