@RiceWalkTV that shure one looks pretty cool, do you know any more? could be up to 250$, i'm actually planning on buying the sennheiser hd 25 ii adidas,, but if I can find any better with better bass...
if you look for bass, the shure 760 dj ist definitely the right choice. In my opinion the shure is better then the hd 25 adidas, nevertheless both have a great bass, isolations. But i prefer the sound quality on shure more than the hd 25.
By the way, these are the guys that told you Monster HDMI cables are the best 6 years ago (at 3 feet? really?) come on folks, do some research. Sennheiser 588, love them to death.
@guimaster1998 Then you are full of shit, you obviously don't know what you are talking about. The Beats are no better than the $50 piece of shit Skullcandy over the ear headsets on Amazon. It is all flimsy plastic built by cheap and crappy materials and you are only paying for two premiums: Monster branding and Dr. Dre's approval. Do yourself a favor and educate yourself about real head wear.
@guimaster1998 Yeah I agree with @CAPTAINJAMESLIM , the Sennheiser HD238 ($50) can beat the Studios for sound quality and it's been proven using various audio tests. The HD238's have better bass extension, less rolled off highs, better bass reproduction, better midrange frequency reproduction, and have less audio distortion. They could destroy the Beats Studio headphones. I don't think Sennheiser has a '550' headphone unless you're referring to the headset, which isn't a headphone
Dude, the Beats Detox headphones are the best headphones in the world! Nothing can beat them for sound quality! They have perfect bass that isn't overpowering, the mids are very clear, and the highs are nice and crisp. Pro artists use them too, so they must be the best! <- Me trying to imitate a Beats fanboy. The real me: an Audio Technica ATH-M50 can beat the Beats Pro headphones for sound quality and cost 1/3 the price. 'Nuff said.
i wanted a pair of headphones that had bass i could feel, so for christmas i got the wireless beats. i liked the sound and would have kept them but they kept disconnecting from my ipod. returned them and got solos because i heard they had heavier bass than studios, so i bought them. except then the padding started falling off after 2 days of perfectly careful use. after using id put back in case and everything. now im done with beats, not worth it at all. looking at shure srh750dj now
@brunobrazda The headphones you wear has nothing to do with whether you're a virgin.. I'll buy same quality Sony headphones and have an extra $300 in my pocket to spend it on something worth it.
You're one of the people who falls for the hype and buys whatever the media tells you is good. Think for yourself buddy.
@brunobrazda yes. Ever been to best buy? Or retail stores where you can compare headphones? Beats have moderate(and even that is being generous) sound quality and are EXTREMELY overpriced. Compare them to an 80 dollar pair of sennheisers and they are complete shit. You are probably one of the tools who got them in school just to show them off and you don't even listen to good music. So YOU go fuck your Beats headphones and remain a faggot for the rest of your life. :D
This are the worst set of cans by any measure. It's sounds like shit and made line one too. They are made in the same factory as any cheap china made headphones, they just put that NAME on it. I feel sorry for ppl that buys this POS cans....
@jeroeniskoning Yes they are horrid. To me their sound is comparable to a $30 headphone. I own many headphones including the Beyerdynamic T1 ($1,295) and my $50 Shure SRH-440 are far far better than the beats in every way.
@babydevilj I totally agree with you. Beats are just overpriced stupid headphones. I'm gonna get an audio technica M50 soon, which is half the price and much better in sound quality.
Are the over ear beats good? Yeaa but for the price? Hell no. These are waaaaay overpriced but still good headphones. The in ear headphones suck no matter what price
Probably the best headphones to buy are some of these:
Audeze LCD-2
Sennheiser HD800
Beyerdynamic T1
Stax Omega II
Sennheiser Orpheus
But these cans here are crap. At Beyerdynamic, you get headphones completely out of metal for about the same price. At AKG you get the same sound for about 1/8 of the price.
@UM3x All that stuff, especially the electrostats at 5k, are 1000+ (LCD-2 was slightly less). I suppose you're mentioning this as a point of comparison to defuse marketing about the "best" headphone, but if the layperson is really considering the beats, I doubt their ear is trained to hear why the beats are lame. You could cut under the price with the HFI-780, HD-25-1, ATH-M50. At the same price, sr325, HD650, and the denon 2000. If they want big bass, give them more, better bass.
@UM3x Ultrasones made my ears cry in pain when I demoed them, yet people seem to like them. Part of reason I guess they would pick skullcandy or Monster stuff, is for fashion reasons, and that some headphones, i.e. HD-25-1 (Non-adidas) look ugly. Now, while I don't think anyone can make the 25 look good, there are cans with good SQ and good looks, i.e. adidas 25, dt1350, B&W P5. YMMV.
@aeriescannonfodder Yeah. Ultrasone has some pretty harsh treble which I do not like at all. If you prefer this crispness and a lot of punchy bass, they are great. But if you don't, than... ;)
The Um3x are of course brilliant. The warm and relaxing sound yet not as lacking treble as Sennheiser signature fits me perfectly. Detail range is also very good yet not as fantastic as the Beyerdynamic DT1350. Sound signature and comfort of the UM3x + Detail range of Beyerdynamic DT1350 would be best.
@UM3x Oh boy, that dt1350 comparison... You're killing me here. I recently pulled on a Westone 4 to complement the V-shaped sound on my senns. I adore the W4, though being well-rounded could be seen as a llimit, rather than a strength.
@vTommyyyyy Lol, you think beats are the most expensive headphones or what? Sennheiser, Beyerdynamic, Audio technica and a lot more companies make $1,000 headphones but they also have headphones that are the same price as beats and they are 10 times better. Beats cant even be compared with their $150 headphones lol. Do some research.
@brunobrazda when people fork up tons of money for SHITTY SOUNDING headphones when the whole purpose of a headphones is to hear good quality music... that's why there's so much hate.
The Heaphone Community is so stubborn its unbelievable. Case and Point right here. If this is the first time you have seen designer things priced high, then get out more. Simple enough.
i like the ifrogz dj style they fold a bit like the dre and are on $50 and they are wonnderfull in terms of design they are gold plated and chrome gr8 sound for their price 2
I had beats Pros and i returned them the next week they arent worth the money at all, I got a pair of Klipsch Image One's and they are the same if not better sounding than the pros if you ask me
@ImEliul no mate. You obviously have no intelligence. Notice how 96% of people who commented said they were shite? Go and do yourself a favor and get some B&W P5's - they've been in the business for donkeys years.
No red spark7 u mong. People get beats to wear them round your neck. A $199 necklace seriously humans, get a life and be normal. Get b and w or sennheiser or denon. Unless you are a girl wearing the pros yummy :P
@tianoynoy0218 i was just about and invest in some of these cause everyone in school says their the shit and it sounds amazing, came here, damn almost everyone hates them. thank god i would of wasted soo much money. have you ever heard of a review. yeah some people are harsh on these but seriously i would of wasted so much money.
Just a question: I am really curious. When you did this unboxing, the Studios were new right? So how did you know they were comfortable just by bending the headband a little with your hands and not actually putting them on your head and try? Haha.
@jfunnz18 well, almost every single expensive headphone sounds great.just to clear things up 15-100 dollars for a headphone aint expensive.100-1400 is expensive.and headphones more than 40 bucks break less, and are durable as hell.
@jfunnz18 well, almost every single expensive headphone sounds great.just to clear things up 15-100 dollars for a headphone aint expensive.100-1400 is expensive.
I dont want that super good sound and bass everyone is talking about. It gets annoying sometimes when u hear it. Clear sound and decent bass is good enough for me
I'm sorry, but if you think Beats are any good you're crazy. Try a real headphone. You can get twice the sound for half the price of a Beats set, easy. Try an Audio-Technica ATH-M50 or something.
I am pretty confident that 90% of America has never heard any true audiophile headphones. Go to headfi.org for information about the elite headphones. A fantastic entry level audiophile headphone is the Audio-Technica AD700. They are around $90 new, and they sound better than any Skullcandy, Bose, or Beats by Dre headphone. All of those brands are made of marketing schemes.
@swimjet1125 To be honest they aren't much better than Beats. They don't look as stupid but are less well built, and worst of all, their bass response is shockingly uneven. For example, I was listening to Seven Days of Falling by the Esbjorn Svensson Trio and noticed that some of the notes from the double bass (the notes of a higher frequency) were far more audible than the deeper ones. This alone killed the headphones. A superb alternate would be the Audio Technica ATH-M50 or the Grado SR-80.
I'm really getting tired of people saying how good AKG and Sennheiser are compared to Beats, the Beats are for people who want really good sound quality and a pair of headphones that look awesome.
AKG and Sennheiser are for people who want amazing sound quality but want headphones that look terrible, fair enough for audio professionals Beats are probably a very bad option but for casual music listening and looking stylish Beats smash the competition.
@RapperTapperKapper thats weird, seeing as the beats are advertised as making you hear the music the way it was intended. Now don't get me wrong, I think Dr. Dre is a genius artist/producer, but I honestly think he knows that there are better headphones out there that are more than half the price and sound much better. Don't believe me? I tested my Audio Technica ATH-M50s against my friend's Beats Studios and even he admitted that mine sounded noticeably better.
Problem with Monster phones is they are grossly overpriced and suffer from costly marketing hype which is responsible for the high price.
Among other things they are plagued with way too heavy, one-note bass (due to a massive cavity resonance). One listen to a good pair of electrostatics like Stax, Sennheiser, AKG and you'll throw the Monsters back in your closet.
If you think the Beats are good headphones, you clearly have not listened to many headphones.
They're overpriced, break easily, and you can get way better ones for the price.
They call that model the "studio", yet it's definitely not meant for studio as they are far from balanced (bass overpowers), and they have a microphone clearly meant for a cell phone/ipod.
They're just for style. It's a good example of Industrial Design...search that on wikipedia.
bullshit headphones. Sony MDR-XB500 are only $80 and have better frequency response than beats by dre studios, and overall better sound and also dont require batteries.
I'm tempted to like this video for all the awesome comments by people who actually know something about headphones. But I can't...quite...make myself like something having to do with Beats.
@ImEliul yes they do as well as the sony extra bass series, sony's are way more cheaper and have an awesome sound quality compared the beats. The fact that beats are specialized in bass it doesn't mean that the bass has to be muddy, overpowered and drown the rest of the frequencies. But that's what the average consumer doesn't seem to notice.
Beats studio ranks last in every test I've read, and is utterly crushed by the competition. And there's a reason only the generic elecronics stores carry monster cable, and none of the specialists. Parts of the Beats series are good, I've seen the Beatbox win tests against Harman Kardon, B&W and other big brands, but the Beats Studio is overpriced crap. The sound is done better by other cheaper cans, and the noise cancelling is definately done better by others.
why the hell ar you wanting beats? people only want them because dr dres name is on them if you are looking for quality look at senheisser B&W denon ect
the comments on here have saved me from buying the beats, im now looking into sennheiser and shure headphones. i'm seeing a lot of good reviews from those two brands.
@westup1213 Check out Denon's AH-D2000. They price pritty much the same as Beats, but they have been praised by the audio magazies, and won a test I read against Sennheiser HD650, BeyerDynamic BT 990 Premium, AKG K702 (at half again the price), Grado SR-225i and Beats Studio by Dre, which was without a doubt the test loser. Google the reviews for these, they're all positive.
@westup1213 Shure, Audio Technica, Denon, and Sennheiser are probably your best manufacturers of audiophile headphones. Will they project a generic fad of a fashion statement? No. Will they prove your maturity and credibility as a quality audio consumer? Without a doubt.
Waste of money, buy headphones from an actual audio manufacturer like Sennheiser, Grado, Shure, Audio Technica, etc. rather than a company that sells overpriced cables and now headphones.
dude beats pro is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo better than beats studio, but i have a beats mixr

Sure, Beats are good if you like bass and not music; and if you have $300+ to throw away.

No red spark7 u mong. People get beats to wear them round your neck. A $199 necklace seriously humans, get a life and be normal. Get b and w or sennheiser or denon. Unless you are a girl wearing the pros yummy :P

Just a question: I am really curious. When you did this unboxing, the Studios were new right? So how did you know they were comfortable just by bending the headband a little with your hands and not actually putting them on your head and try? Haha.

I'm sorry, but if you think Beats are any good you're crazy. Try a real headphone. You can get twice the sound for half the price of a Beats set, easy. Try an Audio-Technica ATH-M50 or something.

What the masses think are good: Beats by Dre, Bose, Skullcandy, etc.
What are good: Sennheiser, Audio Technica, Grado, etc.

@jonnyj0987654321 bose is nice!
swimjet1125 6 months ago

RapperTapperKapper 7 months ago
@RapperTapperKapper thats weird, seeing as the beats are advertised as making you hear the music the way it was intended. Now don't get me wrong, I think Dr. Dre is a genius artist/producer, but I honestly think he knows that there are better headphones out there that are more than half the price and sound much better. Don't believe me? I tested my Audio Technica ATH-M50s against my friend's Beats Studios and even he admitted that mine sounded noticeably better.

When he was saying " its very comfortable to wear" i was just waitin for the headphones to snap

Problem with Monster phones is they are grossly overpriced and suffer from costly marketing hype which is responsible for the high price.
Among other things they are plagued with way too heavy, one-note bass (due to a massive cavity resonance). One listen to a good pair of electrostatics like Stax, Sennheiser, AKG and you'll throw the Monsters back in your closet.
socksumi 7 months ago
159 people bought no beats
DjGeyerVevo 7 months ago
If you think the Beats are good headphones, you clearly have not listened to many headphones.
They're overpriced, break easily, and you can get way better ones for the price.
They call that model the "studio", yet it's definitely not meant for studio as they are far from balanced (bass overpowers), and they have a microphone clearly meant for a cell phone/ipod.
They're just for style. It's a good example of Industrial Design...search that on wikipedia.

You guys are purely ignorant. Beats By Dre specialize in BASS.
Anyways, I'll be buying the Studio's (white) refurbished for 130$. That is a great price for a refurbished copy from the actual website.
ImEliul 8 months ago
@ImEliul yes they do as well as the sony extra bass series, sony's are way more cheaper and have an awesome sound quality compared the beats. The fact that beats are specialized in bass it doesn't mean that the bass has to be muddy, overpowered and drown the rest of the frequencies. But that's what the average consumer doesn't seem to notice.
26148549 7 months ago
i bet you the skull crushers are just as good with way better bass

dobbystep 8 months ago
Beats studio ranks last in every test I've read, and is utterly crushed by the competition. And there's a reason only the generic elecronics stores carry monster cable, and none of the specialists. Parts of the Beats series are good, I've seen the Beatbox win tests against Harman Kardon, B&W and other big brands, but the Beats Studio is overpriced crap. The sound is done better by other cheaper cans, and the noise cancelling is definately done better by others.
This is a fashion accessory only.

the comments on here have saved me from buying the beats, im now looking into sennheiser and shure headphones. i'm seeing a lot of good reviews from those two brands.
westup1213 9 months ago
@westup1213 Check out Denon's AH-D2000. They price pritty much the same as Beats, but they have been praised by the audio magazies, and won a test I read against Sennheiser HD650, BeyerDynamic BT 990 Premium, AKG K702 (at half again the price), Grado SR-225i and Beats Studio by Dre, which was without a doubt the test loser. Google the reviews for these, they're all positive.
Pritolus 8 months ago
@westup1213 Shure, Audio Technica, Denon, and Sennheiser are probably your best manufacturers of audiophile headphones. Will they project a generic fad of a fashion statement? No. Will they prove your maturity and credibility as a quality audio consumer? Without a doubt.
PenguInspiration 8 months ago
They come in a nice box though, I bet they spent more time on that rather than the headphones.
FrosChannel 9 months ago
Waste of money, buy headphones from an actual audio manufacturer like Sennheiser, Grado, Shure, Audio Technica, etc. rather than a company that sells overpriced cables and now headphones.
