@angelicmelody34 i don't know what you're talking about...there is jazz everywhere. Maybe not on mainstream radio, but most genuine music isn't on there.
@lutecore@angelicmelody34 exactly, jazz is an art for the living soul and heart, and it will always stay with the humankind, today's popular music is for party and teenagers, but anyhow nobody listen's to the nowadays 'stars' home alone with closed eyes and headphones, if you know what I mean ;)
This was recorded on April 15, 1959 at Storyville in Boston. This was Billie's second to last performance before her death, which would be three months and two days away from here. It was also exactly a month after her friend Lester Young died too.
Late. I have a recording of the same tune, very similar, with Mal Waldrom, but other musicians are Joe Jones at the drums and Joe Benjamin on bass, recorded at the 1956 or 1958 Newport Festival. Johnny Mercer was introducing her, and she was in much better voice and strength than here. Anyhow, LADY always is an ANGEL droped out from HEAVEN.
Off tune? I hear a good sung song. The piano is less friendly to my ears, but the singing is just fine. I like it, a lot!

she's awesome, and she's good, but... I just can't take how off-tune she is, no matter how artistic it is... I just.. no..
