A tremendous accomplishment for a practitioner of tameshigiri to be sure. However Banana trees are not exactly oak. I think cutting a 1 or 1 1/2 inch rod of white oak would be a more difficult challenge. Then again this is the guy who can cut a steel helmet.

i did that when i was like 8 years old with a machete. not as pretty as he did but i killed the shit out of a banana tree.

You are right about the goo. It may even tarnish the blade black. Must clean the blade right away. Looks like he had time to make third cut.
