I can't get my iPod to play music. It plays CDs DVDs ect....and well when I plug in my iPod (4th generation) it starts playing songs by itself. BUT no sound comes out of the speaker anyone know what the heck I'm doing wrong or what I should do?
@CHIVA9519 If you are using a "one wire” iPod connection to the front USB (audio only), the AV Input option must be set to "AV In" in the iPod settings menu. If you are using the optional KCA-iP22F adapter (with separate video connection), it must be set to 'iPod'. HTH!--Crutchfield
@Baussnigga While we have remaining inventory on the DDX-418, both models have been discontinued and the AVH-P3300BT is sold out. I'm sorry I don't have better news for you there. Both manufacturers are releasing new models for 2012 but we are waiting to confirm the specifications and availability of the new units. @americanista1993 While you can customize the color of the display and use a custom background image, I am unable to find any adjustments for changing the boot screen logo. I’m sorry I don’t have better news for you there. The process for changing the display design is covered on page 30 of the Kenwood owner’s manual. HTH!--Crutchfield
@powerliftng09 This model offered two pairs of pre-amp outputs with an option to use the rear set as a dedicated subwoofer output. This can be adjusted in the “Settings” menu under “Preout Setup” (Page 35 of the owner’s manual). In this mode you will want to select “Subwoofer” and then, under the “Subwoofer” setting, you can switch this option to “On” You can only change these settings when the stereo is in “Standby” mode. Does anyone know if the apps from an android or other similar smart phone would work on this receiver using the usb cable?? I recently purchased one of these receivers.. just waiting for it be installed.
@a7xalterbridgerock Please accept my apologies for the delayed response. No, the Kenwood does not offer any Android specific capabilities at all. The provided USB port is for mass storage devices and compatible Apple iPods/iPhones. I’m sorry I don’t have better news for you there. The good news is; there will be some 2012 models from manufacturers that will be offering Android specific options and capabilities. Feel free to call for additional assistance: 800.315.0030--Crutchfield
I have this system installed. My biggest gripe is the poorly designed user interface. The "Search" menu is the worst but where you'll find yourself more often than not. There are 3 or 4 buttons/sliders squished into an area the size of my thumb-print so trying to navigate to your favorite song is frustrating if not dangerous while driving. the cord that connects your ipod is ugly and so heavy/bulky I worry the torque is destroying the USB port. I prefer to leave a flash-drive plugged in.
The bluetooth adapter that plugs into the usb port, can you plug it into the front usb port or do you have to use the rear one? I wan't to be able to plug my ipod in the rear but I heard the bluetooth takes up a usb port.
@xtreme504 The rear panel USB port is designed for the Bluetooth adapter only. It will not support a USB mass storage device or an iPod/iPhone. I'm sorry I don't have better news for you there. Feel free to call for additional assistance: 800.315.0030--Crutchfield
@spo2112 Absolutely not, and don't let any dealership tell you otherwise. There's actuallly a Federal Statute called the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act that covers this. You can also call for additional assistance: 800.315.0030--Crutchfield
@spo2112 We have not had any widespread complaints regarding the supplied Bluetooth microphone on this unit. Having said that; the microphone input on the Kenwood is a standard 3.5mm female connection, so if your existing microphone offers the same connection (3.5mm male), then you may be able to use it. Feel free to call for additional assistance: 800.315.0030--Crutchfield
is there a way to have just the background picture visible when playing music and have the onscreen menu come back when you touch the screen like when your watching a dvd?

a)that song is BORING
b)more than half of that video is for people who owns ipods. why not just make that player's review an add for ipods?

@91Volkswagen I agree with you. Why do manufacturers only support iphone when there are more android phones in use.
