I think Morrisley would have made a better 10th Doctor, Tennant a better 11th, and Smith a better 12th. Morrisley's Doctor is more goofy than Eccleston's but he's more depressed than Tennant's, making him a good transition between the two. That said, it's still funny seeing Morrisley's using a real screwdriver instead of a Sonic Screwdriver (for reasons you'll learn if you watch the whole episode).

You're right, he has 12 regenerations, so that's 13 Doctors, unless you count the fact that supposedly this should be his final regeneration as the Master stole one of his in the Tardis and the Doctor regenerated at the end of the previous series too, so that's twelvr in total already...
Yes there's 13 doctors if there 12 regenerations. Two things though, the limited regenerations was a rule set by the Time Lords, don't remember why but I think it was to prevent degradation or something. The Master has proved multiple times there's means to escape the "12 regenerations" rule as well. Whether they use no more time lords as an excuse for unlimited regenerations or think of something clever to continue the series remains to be seen.
The FAQ on the BBC site says there is no reason to assume the thirteen limit persisted beyond the Time War. And anyway, Sherlock Holmes and Tarzan only get one life each: it doesn't stop different actors keeping those stories going.

I don't think this guy is a future/alternative Doctor - he's too 'Hollywood'. In fact, there's no guarantee players in a simulation resemble their real selves - it could be, oh... Sabalom Glitz.
Or an impersonator who heard of the Doctor and decided to take the identity of the world-hopping troubleshooter for fun or profit. The Time Lords have been effectively erased from history; such an impersonator might not even realise the original Doctor was real.
Whether the ebullient gent 'being' the Doctor is the programmer or simply an enthusiastic customer/client/buyer/user/player/fan remains to be seen. (Alternatively, the Rosita character could be the player, and the 'Doctor' character an NPC. Or the entire thing could be a simulation by someone interested in watching Doctoresque scenarios play out, whether for entertainment or more sinister purposes.)

I think the "next Doctor" is an impostor - look closely, and his "sonic screwdriver" looks like a regular screwdriver to me! Someone impersonating the 10th Doctor specifically (with the allons-y). So he would be over-the-top on purpose. But that's just my guess!
I think that this is very similar to previous episodes that have had more than one "Doctor" in it. Let me explain, in the story - The Five Doctors, there was the "current" Doctor (for that time frame) and four previous Doctors. In this new Christmas special, we have the "current" Doctor - David T and a "future" Doctor - David M. The difference being that David M is playing a "future" and not a previously seen Doctor.
don't think david morrissey would be good for the next person to play the doctor, i'd, i saw him in odds to be next one i'd rather it be someone like sean pertwee, james mcavoy or robert carlyle.
The 'next doctor' is a Ten from a parallel universe who travelled along with the Cybermen.

the cyberking should of been sum giant overlord cyberman NOT mrs hattigan (whatever her name is)

It was the life gas (stuff) that came from the orb that the Doctor smashed that gave her life back. As it was giving new life to the planet.

I loved morrissey in Blackpool (that's all I've seen him in,) but I hope he's not the new Doctor, he's too loud and brash...kind of like catherine tate as a companion. I think they should go younger than forty-ish - but that's just my opinion.

I always wondered that if in 'petes' world there was an alternate doctor.

although i liked mostly every idea russell and the crew do but this new one is stupid, they would like to see a female play the next doctor, whenever it would be catherine zeta jones or lesley sharp, i got nothin against that as long as it is a different being it would be just stupid having a sex change

I don't think this guy is a future/alternative Doctor - he's too 'Hollywood'. In fact, there's no guarantee players in a simulation resemble their real selves - it could be, oh... Sabalom Glitz.
Or an impersonator who heard of the Doctor and decided to take the identity of the world-hopping troubleshooter for fun or profit. The Time Lords have been effectively erased from history; such an impersonator might not even realise the original Doctor was real.

Whether the ebullient gent 'being' the Doctor is the programmer or simply an enthusiastic customer/client/buyer/user/player/fan remains to be seen. (Alternatively, the Rosita character could be the player, and the 'Doctor' character an NPC. Or the entire thing could be a simulation by someone interested in watching Doctoresque scenarios play out, whether for entertainment or more sinister purposes.)

I think the "next Doctor" is an impostor - look closely, and his "sonic screwdriver" looks like a regular screwdriver to me! Someone impersonating the 10th Doctor specifically (with the allons-y). So he would be over-the-top on purpose. But that's just my guess!

I think that this is very similar to previous episodes that have had more than one "Doctor" in it. Let me explain, in the story - The Five Doctors, there was the "current" Doctor (for that time frame) and four previous Doctors. In this new Christmas special, we have the "current" Doctor - David T and a "future" Doctor - David M. The difference being that David M is playing a "future" and not a previously seen Doctor.

2 possible outcomes:
Either:
The 'next doctor' is a Ten from a parallel universe who travelled along with the Cybermen.
Or:
The 'next doctor' and his Martha are actors, and the Doctor stumbled upon a movie set where they are making a film about him. (The Cyberman at the end of the clip is a costume). Think like the SG-1 episode '200' or Tropic Thunder.

Very cool, and I don't know why but I kinda like the guy whose pretending to be the Doctor... just something about the wink lol made me laugh... that and the 'well that's new!'
Lot less 'Tennant' hyperness and 'oy' which is a welcome change. However, the BBC still hasn't chosen a new Doc so this guy is somethin else...
