I'm not saying all churches, but many do teach the bs about giving money to the church and the lord will pay it back a hundred fold. You pose a good question and have a good point. I know that tithing and offering is in scripture, but there are preachers, or what have you, that will read about planting the seed and the multiples will follow. They say that is in reference to money, but it's not. Jesus is talking about spreading the gospel. That is what I should have said. I have to say though, I don't believe God is going to shower you with riches. Money is earthly, and we are supposed think heavenly, or spiritually.
